“Vibhuti has played 200+ characters in &TV’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai!” says Aasif Sheikh

Admired by the audience for his charming attitude, a relatable sense of humour and his witty thoughts, Vibhuti Narayan Mishra of&TV’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai has been one of the most adored and funny characters ever since the inception of this show. While television and film actor, Aasif Sheikh may have left no stone unturned to create a special place for Vibhuti in the hearts of the viewers, the actor has also been known for bringing out his character in some of the most unusual avatars. From stepping into a bizarre colourful attire of a superhero to experimenting with the feminine strings within him through various female-centric roles, Aasif Sheikh has truly showcased the dynamisms and versatility within him. Having donned almost over 200 various unusual avatars like Tarzan, an astronaut, a farmer and even something as uncommon as a donkey during his journey, the actor has reached a huge milestone when it comes to his character.

Gleaming with pride while looking back on his memorable journey till now, Aasif said, “Ever since the first episode was aired in 2014 to completing over 1000 episodes now, my character, Vibhuti from Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai has played over 200 characters in the show. While there are various unique roles I decided to take up in the show, I have had the most amount of fun in donning a woman’s avatar!

“I have essayed more than 15 variations of a woman, so much so that all the garments and materials required to get into that act have been permanently bought for me and stored in my room. Each time I would dress as a lady, all the actors would taunt me and try to flirt with me,” says Aasif with a tinge of humour in his toneRecollecting a friend’s reaction to this fascination of his, the actor laughingly said, “A friend who decided to visit me during my shoot was taken aback on my character’s attire choices and was a tad bit scandalized when he saw me in that avatar.”

Talking about the characters that have been closest to his heart, Aasif said, “There is actually a long list, but the few characters that have given me an extremely memorable experience is when I played an unusual ‘kabadiwala’ named Darling, a seductive looking electrician named Rajaram and when I was the grey-haired Tiwari’s Daadi. With regards to the latter, I remember me and Rohitashv having a hearty laugh till our tummies hurt! To essay the frustration of a grandmother towards her child, I had to physically hit and kick Rohitashv to bring out the best side of the character onscreen.  Luckily, being the gentleman that he is Rohitashv never complained and in fact cooperated really well throughout the time of those scenes.”

Expressing his love towards his male co-actor, Aasif said, “Me and Rohitashv have a great chemistry and don’t believe in giving space to any competition between us. We have always worked in tandem to each other’s art and I think that’s why we enjoy each other’s comic timing too.”

Commenting upon the challenges he faced during his journey while sharing his experience on working with the entire team, Aasif said, “Earlier, as an actor, it was pretty difficult for me to get into any character’s skin, but it became much easier with Shashank and Manoj’s conviction in me to effortlessly pull of the role. I was very recently trolled for not depicting the story of the historic character of Vibhishan in an accurate manner and in fact was also accused for hurting religious sentiments. Being a part of a comedy show, we decided to take it sportingly and keep our motive of keeping our audience happy. Till today I get really excited about portraying different characters and the viewers’ love towards these characters is what keeps me going every day. I enjoy keeping people amused and will continue to do so in every way that I can.”

With an aim to achieve a greater feat that this, Aasif Sheikh is all set essay some new interesting characters in the show making the audiences laugh and keep them entertained.

आपल्या देखणा अॅटिट्यूड, विनोदबुद्धी आणि हजरजबाबीपणा यांमुळे प्रेक्षकांच्या पसंतीला उतरलेला &TVच्या भाभीजी घरपर हैंमधील विभूती नारायण मिश्रा ही शो सुरू झाल्यापासून सर्वाधिक लाडकी आणि विनोदी व्यक्तिरेखा ठरली आहे. टीव्ही आणि चित्रपट कलाकार असिफ शेख यांनी विभूतीसाठी प्रेक्षकांच्या मनात एक खास जागा तयार करण्यासाठी सर्वतोपरी प्रयत्न केले आहेत. परंतु हा कलाकार अत्यंत वेगवेगळ्या रूपात आपल्या व्यक्तिरेखा समोर आणण्यासाठीही ओळखला जातो. सुपरहिरोच्या अत्यंत विचित्र रंगीबेरंगी अवतारात येण्यापासून ते विविध स्त्रीकेंद्री भूमिकांद्वारे आपल्यामधील स्त्रीत्वाचा प्रयोग करण्यापर्यंत असिफ शेख यांनी आपल्यामधील वैविध्यपूर्णता आणि अभिनयक्षमता दाखवली आहे. टारझन, अंतराळवीर, शेतकरी आणि आपल्या प्रवासात गाढवासारखी एक वेगळी भूमिका अशा २०० पेक्षा अधिक अवतारांमध्ये दिसलेल्या या अभिनेत्याने आपल्या व्यक्तिरेखांबाबत एक मोठा पल्ला पार केला आहे.

आपल्या अविस्मरणीय प्रवासाकडे अभिमानाने वळून पाहताना आसिफ म्हणाला की, ''२०१४मध्ये पहिला एपिसोड सादर झाल्यापासून आतापर्यंत १००० पेक्षा अधिक एपिसोड्स पूर्ण झाले आहेत आणि माझ्या भाभीजी घरपर हैंमधील विभूती या व्यक्तिरेखेने आतापर्यंत २०० पेक्षा अधिक अवतार धारण केले आहेत. मी या शोमध्ये इतरही अनेक विशेष भूमिका करण्याचे ठरवले असले तरी मला स्त्रीच्या भूमिकेत काम करताना सर्वाधिक आनंद झाला.''

''मी स्त्रीच्या १५ पेक्षा अधिक भूमिका पार पाडल्या आहेत. इतक्या की, या अभिनयासाठी आवश्यक असलेले सर्व कपडे आणि साहित्य माझ्यासाठी कायमस्वरूपी खरेदी करून माझ्या कपाटात ठेवण्यात आले आहे. मी जेव्हा-जेव्हा बाईचा वेश परिधान करतो तेव्हा-तेव्हा इतर कलाकार मला चिडवतात आणि माझ्यासोबत फ्लर्टिंग करण्याचा प्रयत्न करतात,'' असे असिफ गंमती गंमतीत सांगतो. आपल्या या वेडाबाबत मित्राची प्रतिक्रिया सांगताना हा अभिनेता हसत हसत म्हणाला की, माझा एक मित्र मला सेटवर भेटायला आला आणि माझ्या व्यक्तिरेखेचे कपडे बघून चक्रावला. त्याने मला त्या अवतारात पाहिलं आणि तो भांबावून गेला.”

आपल्याला सर्वाधिक आवडणाऱ्या व्यक्तिरेखांबाबत बोलताना आसिफ म्हणाला की, ''ही यादी खूप मोठी आहे, पण मला काही व्यक्तिरेखांनी अविस्मरणीय आठवणी दिल्या. त्यातली एक म्हणजे कबाडीवाला ज्याचं नाव डार्लिंग होतं, एक अत्यंत देखणा असलेला इलेक्ट्रिशियन राजाराम होता आणि मी तिवारीच्या आजीच्या रूपात केस पांढरे केले ती एक आठवण. मला आठवतंय की, मी आणि रोहिताश्व अगदी पोट धरून हसत होतो. आजीचे आपल्या मुलाबाबत असलेले फ्रस्ट्रेशन दाखवण्यासाठी आणि त्या व्यक्तिरेखेला खुलवण्यासाठी मला रोहिताश्वला खरोखर मारावे आणि लाथाडावे लागले होते. सुदैवाने तो इतका चांगला माणूस आहे की, रोहिताश्वने कधीही तक्रार केली नाही आणि त्याने खरंतर त्या सीन्सच्या वेळी खूपच सहकार्य केले.''

आपल्या पुरूष सह-कलाकारांबाबत प्रेम व्यक्त करताना आसिफ म्हणाला की, ''मी आणि रोहिताश्व आमच्या दोघांचे खूप चांगले जमते आणि आमच्यामध्ये कोणत्याही प्रकारची स्पर्धा येऊ शकत नाही. आम्ही कायमच एकमेकांची कला जपून काम केले आहे आणि त्याचमुळे आम्ही एकमेकांचे विनोदी टायमिंगही आनंदाने जपू शकतो.''

संपूर्ण टीमसोबत काम करताना आणि त्याला या प्रवासात आलेल्या आव्हानांबाबत बोलताना आसिफ म्हणाला की, ''आधी एक कलाकार म्हणून माझ्यासाठी व्यक्तिरेखेत शिरणे कठीण होते. परंतु शशांक आणि मनोज यांनी माझ्यावर विश्वास ठेवून मला त्या भूमिका साकारणे खूप सोपे केले. मी विभीषणची भूमिका अचूकपणे न केल्याबद्दल अलीकडेच मला ट्रोलिंगचा सामना करावा लागला आणि धार्मिक भावना दुखावल्याचाही आरोप माझ्यावर झाला. एका कॉमेडी शोचा भाग म्हणून आम्ही ते खेळीमेळीने घ्यायचे ठरवले आणि आमच्या प्रेक्षकांना आनंदी ठेवण्यावर भर दिला. आजपर्यंत मला विविध व्यक्तिरेखा साकारताना खूप आनंद मिळाला आणि प्रेक्षकांचे या व्यक्तिरेखांवरील प्रेम मला पुढे नेत राहते. मला लोकांना आनंदी ठेवायला आवडते आणि मी शक्य तेव्हा तसा प्रयत्न करतच राहीन.''

सध्या प्राप्त केलेल्या यशापेक्षा आणखी यश मिळवण्याच्या हेतूने आसिफ शेख या शोमध्ये आणखी नवीन व्यक्तिरेखा साकारण्यासाठी सज्ज आहे. ते प्रेक्षकांना हसवत राहतील आणि त्यांचे मनोरंजन करतील.

Impressive participation by Goa Tourism at BTL, Lisbon, Portugal which commenced on 13th March 2019


Goa Tourism puts up an impressive show at  BTL (Bolsa de Tourismo de Lisboa) in Lisbon,   Portugal  being held from March 13-17, 2019. The five-day event which began on 13th March is receiving an excellent response with market leaders increasing their stand size followed by participation from a cross section of global and Indian travel and tourism markets.

The Hon’ble Indian Ambassador to Portugal, Ms. K. Nandini Singla called on the  Goa Tourism  delegation  led by Mr. Sanjiv Gadkar, Director, Department  of Tourism, Govt.  of Goa.  Ms. Singla expressed  delight on  Goa Tourism’s participation  at the Bolsa de Tourismo de Lisboa and  for setting up an attractive  and  impressive pavilion showcasing the best that Goa Tourism has to offer to the world.  

Ms. Singla who had visited Goa last year and  met  the Hon’ble Tourism Minister, Mr.  Manohar Ajgaonkar, once again  re-assured  the Goa Tourism  delegation of  her continued support  and pursuing   bilateral ties between Goa and  Portugal through tourism,  sports and  other areas. As part of this initiative, Ms. Singla also urged  Goa Tourism to initiate  talks with APAVT, an association of Portuguese travel and tourism agencies which could  facilitate and  boost footfalls  to Goa in the near future.

Mr.  Jose Ulisses Correia e  Silva, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Cape Verde who also visited  Goa Tourism’s pavilion at the on-going BTL, Lisbon,  showed  keen  interest in Goa as a tourism destination having  a plethora of  facets. He expressed his desire to engage in  bilateral   relations for an exchange  of tourism ties  between  the two regions.
Mr. Deepak Narvekar, PRO – GTDC &  Mr. Gajanan Mahale, ATO – Dept.  of Tourism were also present during the interactions.

Goa Tourism has set up an attractive pavilion at the BTL,  Lisbon showcasing all its new tourism products and services , organized presentations and interactions with bigwigs from the tourism  industry which received tremendous response from international buyers, tour operators, travel agents, wedding planners, corporate travel decision makers, potential investors in the field of hospitality, leisure and travel industry.

Several  bloggers and  travel writers visited BTL and obtained information on Goa Tourism services and other facilities. Goa Tourism officials  are engaging in B2B  meetings and are networking   with prominent tour operators during the event. Many bloggers  have also visited the Goa stall. A Goa Evening was also organised which was well attended by travel and tour operators, media, visitors and  other dignitaries .Goa Tourism’s pavilion was  designed and managed by Mr. Elvis Dias of AMO.

A unique salute to the soldiers by the film Chatrapati Shasan

Recently the premier show of the film Chatrapati Shasan was screened at the Belgavi in the Sharkat Hall of Maratha Light Infantry. This film produced by Prabodhan Films and Sawai Martand, directed by Khushal Mhetre, will be released in the theaters all over Maharashtra on coming 15th March. On this occasion Colonel P. L. Jairam, Subhedar Major K. Harekar, Chandrakant Tikurle, producer of the film Chatrapati Shasan Priyanka Kagle and some 300 to 350 jawans of the regiment were present. The special show of the film organized for the jawans to boost their confidence and to applaud their work was enjoyed thoroughly by them. The real strength of the Maharaj are his 'Mawla's. Producers of the film informed that, not only this film is dedicated to the Mawla's who lived and died for the 'Swarajya' (self rule) and today's Indian soldiers; but also that 10% of its total revenue from the film will go towards the welfare of the soldiers. At the time Colonel Jairam spoke from his heart that this concept is very unique in the sense that instead of following the custom of organizing the film's premier with the celebrities of the film industry, it was done with the soldiers. Also, Subhedar Major K. Harekar mentioned a special thing about the film that, many are unaware of the exact thoughts of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. If they deeply think over, then they will definitely bring some good changes in the society. This film gives a great energy to our soldiers. Our best wishes to the film Chatrapati Shasan releasing on 15th March.
