Aditya Thackeray, Maharashtra Cabinet Minister releases Marathi translation of top Mumbai coiffeur’s memoir

Maharashtra’s dynamic young minister of Tourism and Environment, Shri  Aditya Thackeray released the Marathi translation of Styling at the Top,  a memoir of top hairstylist Shivarama Bhandary, popularly known as Shiva, at a function held at Mantralaya, Mumbai .



Release of the Marathi memoir is the third such book after a successful launch of the English version by the legend Shri Amitabh Bachchan and thereafter the Kannada translation by Padma Vibhushan Shri  Veerendra Heggade of Dharmasthala, Karnataka.

Aditya praised the unassuming and humble attributes of Shiva, who runs a chain of 20 salons under the brand name Shiva’s, and hoped that youngsters would be motivated and encouraged. He fondly recalled the long association that Shiva shared with the Thackeray family since the time of his late grandfather, Shri Balasaheb Thackeray.



“Keep working, be rooted to the ground and go ahead,” advised Aditya for the would-be entrepreneurs. “Such biographies should be written so that people should know about the struggle that goes into it, only the glamour is seen, but they are unaware of the hard work that has gone into it before reaching this far,” he added and wished all success for the Marathi book.

The book is all about the grit and determination and the many struggles that Shiva had to go through against innumerable odds. It tells the story of how Shiva etched his way from a tiny makeshift barber shop that he set up nearly 32 years ago in Mumbai. Today the brand includes the bespoke Shiva’s Signature Salons that draw elite and celebrity clientele and skin and hair care products called Shiva’s Trends.

                        

The book titled as Styling at the Top, The Journey of Shiva, Bollywood’s Celebrated Hairstylist is written by journalist Jayashree Shetty and translated into Marathi by Dr. Suchita Nandapurkar-Phadke. The English version is published by Amaryllis, an imprint of Manjul Publishing House, which brought out the Marathi translation. All three editions in English, Marathi and Kannada are available in book stores and online. The Hindi and Gujarati editions are on their way.










Sajhedaari: Mahindra Insurance Brokers’ Program to tap 3,00,000 villages

Mumbai, February 20, 2020: Mahindra Insurance Brokers Ltd (MIBL), a leading Composite insurance broking company primarily serving rural and semi-urban India, Small and Medium Enterprises and Corporates, has launched Sajhedaari, a unique partnership program designed to identify, train and develop a team of certified Point of Sales Persons (PoSPs) for insurance distribution through a combination of physical and digital (phygital) modes. The PoSP model is regulated by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).

MIBL will leverage its vast geographical reach across rural and semi-urban markets in India to maximize the impact of Sajhedaari. Through this program, MIBL aims to empower people in these markets by providing them with an alternate means of livelihood, and increase insurance awareness and penetration in the country. This program will enable rural customers to have local access to health, non-life and life protection solutions.

MIBL will facilitate providing Online Training for certification as well as for Products that are offered through the PoSPs. Paperless and seamless transactions designed around the needs of rural customers, will make the insurance process simple and hassle-free. This digital transactional mode is equipped to give speed, choice and convenience to both the ‘Sajhedaar’ and the end customer.

Through the program, MIBL will facilitate knowledge-sharing on various industry aspects and technological developments in insurance with the Sajhedaars. MIBL will also provide dedicated support on Claims processing, technical assistance and service issues, if any.







INVESTMENT OF $75-100 BN TO HELP INDIAN CHEMICAL INDUSTRY TO DOUBLE ITS SIZE BY 2025
Mumbai, 19th February 2020: With the advance developments & innovations, there has been a robust growth in the economic statistics globally. In India, the current turnover of the chemical industry is $150 billion which is estimated to reach $300 billion by 2025, making it a 7 trillion dollar economy by 2030. To achieve this target, an investment of about $75-100 billion is required, while reducing the import dependency and improving exports. India is poised to become the third largest economy after China and United States respectively growing at the rate of 8 per cent per annum by 2030.
The chemical industry is an industry-of-industries with a combined turnover of USD 160 billion growing at 100 basis points faster than India’s GDP, making it an important sector to propel the growth of the nation’s economy. Indian Chemical Council, the apex national body dedicated for the growth and development of chemical industry, outlined vision 2025 for the chemical industry. The key trends identified were digitalization, global mergers and acquisitions, and focus on downstream specialty chemicals.
