As part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’initiative, in October, 2016 Vadodara, Gujarat, India will be hosting an international exhibition SWITCH andsummit with the theme of Electrical Engineering, Power Generation and Innovation.

SWITCH 2016, to be held from 6^th to 10^th October 2016,is promoted by the Department of Energy & Petrochemicals, Government Gujarat with Federation of Gujarat Industries as the organizing and implementation Partner.  

The Switch Global Expo aims to be a biennial platform for suppliers, buyers and innovators. The exhibition will involve showcasing manufacturing capabilities by national and international players and will be a chance for engineers, scientists, academics and manufacturers to showcase their products and innovations for the power sector.

Poised to be India’s Manufacturing Hub for Electrical Engineering, Vadodara and Gujarat has made great strides in the field of engineering and power. Thanks to this and many other factors, Gujarat ranks as one of fastest developing states in the country Under the Leadership of its Honorable Chief Minister Smt. Anandiben Patel, Vadodara is home to most of the leading power equipment manufacturers of India.

SWITCH – 2016, will bring together mavericks and proven stalwarts of this field together. From providing a platform to start-ups to organizing a conducive exchange of technologies and networking with potential buyers and sellers, both national as well as international, Switch – 2016 has it all. The exhibition will see more than 1,00,000 visitors from around the world along with a pavilion dedicated to resale and refurbishing options.

Switch – 2016 will be Inviting more than 8,000 highly qualified and strategic buyers. With more than 2,500 key buyers across countries, 200 buyers from Europe, 75 buyers from 20 utilities in the Middle East will be among many others from around the country as its guest.

Switch -2016 has received participation from more than 1000 Domestic Manufacturers and about 200 International Manufactures who are displaying their companies and participating in the exhibition

Switch -2016 has booked charted Flights and Trains from Mumbai and Delhi enabling Travel of more than 10,000 people daily along with 27,500 room nights in 100 kms periphery of Vadodara, Local Travel to Exhibitors will be arranged by the organ sing committee by deploying Switch Express buses across the city.

World Electrical Buyers Summit (WEBS)a congregation of World’s Leading buyers of Electrical goods being organized on the sidelines of SWTICH has received participation confirmation from Power Minister of over 15 countries of the world,30 Power Ministers from India, PowerSecretaries of States of India and Delegations from 95 foreign Utilities and 102 Indian Utilities, along with about 1150 large corporates of India have agreed to Participate.

SWITCH – 2016 is designed to be definitive electrics marketplace and will provide the widest range of switchgears, cables, conductors and fiber optic wires, transmission line technologies, control and automation, transformers, among many other products. This exhibition will also have specific pavilions for students and institutes as well as safety.

The exhibition Which will be Held at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Expo Centere , Vadodara will be spread across 80,000 sq meters making it one of the largest Expo on Electrical and Innovation in India.

The expo will have an INNOVATION & TECHNOLOGY SUMMIT a first of kind in the country Wherein Innovators will be given stalls to display their work & About 15 leading Innovators and Celebrities will speak Along with that an Incubators forum will be available to exchange information with Investors, Bankers and HNI for giving an interaction platform to encourage Venture capital funding into the start-ups of industry. The Technology Summit will have wide-ranging discussions on Manufacturing Technology, Asset Management, Renewable Energy and Other Technical Subject leading corporates GE, Siemens, ABB and Suzlon are the Technical Partners in the Summit.

DURING 1^ST OCTOBER 2016 TO 10^TH OCTOBER 2016 Gujarat & Specifically Vadodara hosts the Traditional Navratri Garba Festival wherein about 40,000 people dance for 9 nights at one location and there are small small groups of people who perform Garba across the city, the visitors to Switch will also be able to enjoy the festival at Vadodara.
