दरवर्षी १,४५,००० मृत्यूंमुळे जगभरात होणाऱ्या रस्ते अपघातांपैकी १२.५ टक्के अपघात भारतात होतात. यूएसएल- डियाजिओच्या २०१४ मध्ये लाँच केलेल्या रोड टु सेफ्टी या उपक्रमात जबाबदारीने मद्यपान करणे आणि टीव्हीरेडिओ वसोशल मीडिया प्रोत्साहनपर नागरिक विशेषतः तरुणांद्वारे नेव्हर ड्रिंक अँड ड्राइव्हचा संदेश पोहोचवण्यासाठी एकत्रितपणे काम केले जाते.

या अभियानात कायदे अंमलबजावणी संघटना सरकारी संघटना यांचाही समावेश असून त्या भारतातील ट्रॅफिक पोलिस अधिकाऱ्यांना आवश्यक प्रशिक्षण देणेव्यावसायिक चालकांना सुशिक्षित करणे आणि विद्यापीठातील विद्यार्थ्यांना मद्यपान करून गाडी चालवण्याचे तोटे समजावून देणे अशी कामे करतात.

उपक्रमाला समर्थन दर्शवित, करिष्‍मा कपूर म्‍हणाल्‍या, ''रस्‍ता सुरक्षितता ही वाढती समस्‍या बनली आहे आणि मला वाटते की, रस्‍ता सुरक्षिततेच्‍या उपायांबाबत गांभीर्याने विचार करणे गरजेचे आहे. एक माता म्‍हणूनजेव्‍हा माझी मुले बाहेर पडतात व रस्‍त्‍यावर चालत असताततेव्‍हा माझ्या मनात नेहमीचे भीतीचे वातावरण असते की कदाचित कोणीतरी निष्‍काळजीपणे वाहन चालवत असेल. मी प्रत्‍येकाला आवाहन करते की, मद्यपान करुन गाडी चालवू नका आणि यूएसएल - डियाजिओच्‍या डेजिग्‍नेटेड ड्रायव्‍हर संकल्‍पनेचे समर्थन करा.''

या उपक्रमाविषयी अबंती संकरनारायणन – मुख्य धोरण आणि कॉर्पोरेट अफेयर्स अधिकारीयूएसएल म्हणाल्या, ''मर्यादित प्रमाणात आणि जबाबदारीने केलेले मद्यसेवन हा साधारण जीवनशैलीचा भाग असू शकतो असे आम्ही यूएसएलमध्ये मनतो. त्याचबरोबर अतिरिक्त मद्यपानामुळे संबंधित व्यक्ती तसेच समाजाला हानी पोहोचू शकते. संशोधन असे सांगते की,मद्यपान करून गाडी चालवणे ही भारतातील एक प्रमुख समस्या असून त्यामुळेच आम्ही रोड टु सेफ्टी हा उपक्रम लाँच केला. गेल्या तीन वर्षांत ना-नफा तत्वावर काम करणाऱ्या संस्थासरकारमीडिया व नागरिकांबरोबर धोरणात्मक भागिदारीद्वारे या उपक्रमाने सदर समस्या व त्यावरील उपाययोजनांबाबत पुरेशी जागरूकता निर्माण केली आहे. मद्यपान करून गाडी चालवणे तसेच अतिरिक्त मद्यपान करणे या समस्या कमी करण्यासाठी प्रयत्न करण्यासाठी आम्ही बांधील आहोत.''

तिसऱ्या सीझनमध्ये नागरिकांना सामाजिक समारंभ आणि कार्यक्रमात डेझिग्नेटेड ड्रायव्हरची निवड करून जबाबादारीने आनंद साजरा करत भारतातील रस्ते सुरक्षेसंदर्भात महत्त्वाची भूमिका बजावण्यासाठी प्रेरित केले जाणार आहे.

आतापर्यंत रोड टु सेफ्टी उपक्रमात 
-    भारतातील २२ राज्ये व ५३ शहरांत अंमलबजावणी करण्यात आली आहे.
-    चार हजार पोलिस अधिकाऱ्यांना ट्रॅफिकचे नियम मद्यसेवन करून गाडी चालवण्याच्या आरोपाची अंमलबजावणी ब्रेथ अल्कोहोल अनालायझर्सचा योग्य वापर यांचे प्रशिक्षण देण्यात आले आहे.
-    पोलिस खाती व काही राज्यांना उच्च दर्जाचे ब्रेथ अल्कोहोल अनालायझर्सचे दान.
-    विद्यापीठातील सहा हजार विद्यार्थ्यांना मद्यसेवन करून गाडी चालण्याच्या तसेच प्रमाणित वयापेक्षा कमी वयात मद्यसेवन करण्याचे धोके समजावून देण्यात आले.
-    व्यावसायिक वाहनांच्या (शाळांच्या बसेस ऑटो रिक्क्षा ट्रक आणि बसेस) पाच हजार चालकांना मद्यसेवन करून गाडी चालवण्याच्या धोक्यांची माहिती देण्यात आली.
-    सोशल मीडिया व प्रत्यक्ष कार्यक्रमांतून सर्व थरांतील तीन लाख लोकांची नेव्हर ड्रिंक अँड ड्राइव्हची शपथ.

Arbaaz Khan plays CBI officer in Red Affair written by Hindi best seller novel writer Amit Khan,produced by Pradeep Rangwani of UV Films.

Pradeep Rangwani of UV Films has purchased the Hindi movie Rights of a novel “RED AFFAIR” from Hindi best seller novel writer Amit Khan.




Pradeep Rangwani of UV Films says that for past two years he wanted to produce a Hindi Feature Film. In this regard, He was in contact with several writers. However, their subjects/concepts did not excite him as much. Then, he came across Amit Khan.Amit Khan has more than 100 Novels to his credit. Amit Khan was writing a thriller novel titled “Red Affair” at that time.Amit Khan narrated the subject of “Red Affair” to him and he immediately locked it.He is very excited about the subject. Pradeep Rangwani has requested Amit Khan to bring out the novel little late in the market.The novel will be published in Hindi and English Language before the release of the Film.This story has been narrated to  Arbaaz Khan. He is very excited about it. Arbaaz Khan portrays a key role of a Crime Branch Officer.Arbaaz Khan confirmed the news saying The screenplay and dialogues are superb.I am really looking forward to the film. Manjari Fadnis,Kainat Arora,Ashmit Patel and Mukul Dev are other cast of the film.The film will be shot in one schedule in Mumbai.
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat addresses industrialists and business leaders in Mumbai; invites them to take part in event and invest in Gujarat

As a precursor to the 8th edition of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017, a high-level delegation from the Government of Gujarat led by Mr. Vijay Rupani, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat was in Mumbai addressing industrialists and business leaders to not only partner and attend the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in January 2017, but to also take advantage of the myriad business opportunities that the state has to offer. The event in Mumbai received an overwhelming participation of more than 450+ businessmen representing top companies.

While speaking to a gathering of 450+ representatives from corporates and policymakers in Mumbai, Mr Vijay Rupani, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat elaborated upon the inclusive growth and sustainable development that Gujarat has achieved and further stated that the state will continue to lay emphasis on ease of doing business and proactive investor facilitation in line with the vision set forth by Honourable Prime Minister.  The Chief Minister also expressed his gratefulness to the Prime Minister for the betterment of the centre-state relations. The PM’s ‘Make In India’ initiative has propelled India as an emerging market for businesses to set up. The Chief Minister also stated that the PM’s idea for creating co-operative federalism has ensured that states are partners in the growth of the country.  States are a focal point for the implementation of many of the historic schemes launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister.


Addressing the large gathering, he also highlighted the tremendous opportunity for the industry to invest in Gujarat International Finance Tec- City (GIFT-City), Mandal Becharaji SIR, Dahej, PCPIR and Dholera Special Investment Region, which is one of the biggest investment zones on the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor. The GIFT City will be India’s first multi-functional Special Economic Zone which will be a hub to the share market, capital markets and the banking sector. This will be a huge boost to the banking sector. The Bombay Stock Exchange will be setting up international operations at the GIFT City.


Spread over more than 102 sq. km, Mandal Becharaji Special Investment region (SIR) is new industrial hub being planned in Gujarat, 90km away from Ahmedabad, near Becharaji town. Envisaged by the govt of Gujarat, MBSIR is one of its kind industrial hub and will compromise automobile, manufacturing and auxiliary industries. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, Maruti Suzuki India have plants located in MBSIR. Soon Honda car plant to be operation. Gujarat is emerging as one of Asia’s largest automobile and auto components hub.


Gujarat is fast emerging as a manufacturing and a R&D hub with major private players like Tata, Ford, Honda 2 wheelers and Suzuki having set up or in the process of setting up their plants in the state. Key investments can also be made for joint R&D with Indian companies for new product development and process innovation. Investment of USD 2 billion in this sector realized till 2015, and additional USD 3.2 billion committed by 2020 in this sector. State has a sound base of 30 clusters comprising of castings, brass parts, oil engines & electric motors, bearings, auto-ancillaries.

Speaking about employment opportunities, The CM stressed on defense and aerospace as key sectors of growth, with the intention of setting up manufacturing facilities. Maine, ship-building, agro-food processing, textiles and diamonds are some of the other focus sectors. He also announced that policies for biotech, healthcare, defense and aerospace will be finalised in the coming week

The Government of Gujarat had earlier announced the first ever Nobel Laureates Exhibition and Symposium at the upcoming edition of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit. The Department of Science and Technology has received 11 confirmations from Nobel Laureates including the likes of Harold E. Varmus, William E. Moerner, Randy Schekman, Venkatraman Ramakrishnan, Ada Yonath, David Gross.


The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit has received tremendous response and support from other countries. So far, 11 countries and 4 partner organisations have signed up to partner VGGS 2017. The 11 partner countries to Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017 comprise of the United States of America (USA), United Kingdom (UK), the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Poland, The Netherlands, Japan, France, Denmark, Canada, Australia and Singapore being the latest addition. Further, the United Kingdom India Business Council Australia India Business Council, Japan External Trade Organizations and the US India Business Council are ‘partner organizations’ at the summit.

    Karishma Kapoor Pledges For Road Safety In India - Launches Season 3 of the USL-Diageo Road to Safety initiative









    United Spirits Limited (USL), a Diageo Group Company, today announced the launch of Season 3 ofits Road to Safety initiative with Bollywood actor - Karisma Kapoor pledging her support for the cause of road safety in India. As part of the launch was a special panel discussion on ‘Road Safety: New Challenges and the Road Ahead’ attended by Suhel Seth – CEO, Counselage India, Shaina NC – Spokesperson BJP, Abanti Sankaranarayanan - Chief Strategy and Corporate Affairs Officer, USL, Seji Cherian - CEO, Save Life Foundation, Dr. Shankar Vishwanath - Hon’ble advisor, Mumbai Traffic Police, and Dr. Sanjay Oak – Ex Dean, KEM Hospital, sharing their insights and solutions for issues affecting road safety in India.

    With over 1,45,000 fatalities a year, India accounts for 12.5% of global road accidents. Launched in 2014, USL-Diageo’s signature intervention, ‘Road to Safety’ endeavours to bring a collective consciousness around responsible drinking and road safety through various touch-points of television, radio and social media , encouraging citizens, especially the Indian youth to ‘Never Drink and Drive.’

    This campaign also includes working with law enforcement agencies and government bodies to provide capacity-building training to India’s traffic police officials and educating commercial drivers and university students on the perils of drunk driving.

    Speaking about this initiative, Abanti Sankaranarayanan, Chief Strategy and Corporate Affairs Officer, USL, said At USL, we believe that alcohol, when consumed in moderation and responsibly can be part of a normal lifestyle. We also recognize that excessive and harmful consumption of alcohol can lead to problems for individuals and society. Research shows that drunk driving is a major concern in India, which led us to launch the Road To Safety initiative. In the last 3 years, through strategic partnerships with not-for-profit organisations, governments, media and civil society, this program has created significant awareness of the problem and its potential solutions. We are committed to play our role to reduce drunk driving and the harmful consumption of alcohol.”

    Supporting the initiative, Karisma Kapoor, Bollywood Celebrity said, “Road Safety is a growing concern and I believe that road safety measures need to be taken seriously. As a mother, whenever my children head out and are on the road, I’m always concerned that someone else might be careless. I strongly urge everyone to Never Drink and Drive and support the Designated Driver concept by USL-Diageo.”

    In Season 3, citizens will be encouraged to celebrate responsibly by nominating a ‘Designated Driver’ during social occasions and celebrationsinspiring them to play a crucial role in road safety in India.

    Till date, the ‘Road to Safety’ programme has:
              Covered 22 states and 53 cities in India
              Trained 4000 police officials on traffic regulations, enforcement of drunken driving offences; types and correct usage of breath alcohol analysers.
              Donated high quality breath alcohol analyzers to police departments of several states

    Taught 6000 university students about the perils of drunk drinking and underage drinking
              Educated 5000 drivers of commercial vehicles (school buses, auto rickshaws, trucks and buses) on the dangers of drunk driving
              Received over 3,00,000 pledges to “Never Drink & Drive’ from people from all walks of life through the social media and on-ground activations.

    Gajanan Surendrasa Shobha Kalburgi of Legendary Man Entertainment Pvt Ltd have signed Karan Singh Grover for his maiden untitled film to be directed by Bhushan Patel.Karan Singh Grover and Bhushan Patel have worked together in Alone."Bhushan and Karan had been discussing the film since Alone was in production. The film will be shot in Mumbai with two more schedules in Malaysia and Bangkok.Reportedly, Bhushan Patel had been working on two scripts -a horror and a thriller -but wants to kick off the thriller first.Sandeep Harish Kewlani is associate producer of the film.Auditions are going on for the lead lady in the film.
