World Environment Day Special: 5 Bollywood Women Who Wear Their Values

This World Environment Day, we’re celebrating Bollywood women who are making sustainability a part of their everyday style. Through conscious choices and powerful statements, they’re proving that fashion can be planet-friendly and personal. ЁЯМНЁЯТЪ

1. Rasika Dugal – Quietly Sustainable

Rasika keeps it simple and stylish. She often wears handloom, upcycled, and handmade clothes—proving that conscious fashion can still be elegant and effortless.
She works closely with homegrown, artisan-first brands and often highlights the stories behind the outfits she wears. Her fashion choices are as thoughtful as her performances.

2. Sonali Bendre – Style That Lasts

Sonali believes in rewearing and restyling her favourites. From vintage sarees to timeless pieces, she shows us that good fashion never goes out of style.
She’s been vocal about not giving in to “one-time wear” culture and encourages people to celebrate the emotional value of clothing. Her looks often come with nostalgia and pride.

3. Dia Mirza – Green Inside and Out

Dia lives her values. An environmentalist at heart, she chooses sustainable designers, promotes zero-waste fashion, and brings climate conversations to the red carpet.
She partners with eco-conscious fashion brands and supports causes tied to nature, waste management, and conscious consumption. For Dia, fashion is a form of climate action.

4. Taapsee Pannu – Fashion That Feels Right

Taapsee’s wardrobe is real and relatable. She repeats outfits, supports eco-conscious brands, and reminds us that fashion can be both fun and responsible.
She often champions small Indian labels that follow ethical practices, and her off-duty looks are proof that you don’t need excess to express your style.

5. Richa Chadha – Conscious and Cool

Richa mixes bold fashion with bold beliefs. She supports vegan, cruelty-free, and thrifted fashion—speaking up about fast fashion’s impact while looking great doing it.
She’s candid about the need for circular fashion and often sources second-hand or repurposed pieces for red carpets, proving sustainability doesn’t mean compromising on glamour.

The tournament is being organized by the Indian Chess School, a respected institution in youth chess development. With participation expected from across the country and international entries as well, it offers a unique stage for young talent to gain exposure, experience, and recognition.

World Environment Day: GJEPC advocates ‘Green Exhibitions’ with India International Jewellery Shows (IIJS)

·         Reinforces commitment to sustainability

·         Eco-friendly materials, reusable exhibition stalls, 100% renewable energy usage

·         ‘One Earth, An IIJS Initiative’ Tree Plantation Drive: Over 1 lakh trees planted

The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), India’s apex trade body sponsored by the Union Ministry of Commerce & Industry, reinforces Commitment to Sustainability with Green Practices at its flagship India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) exhibitions --- one of the world’s top 2 B2B Trade shows in the gem & jewellery sector.

With the theme of this year’s Environment Day focusing on “Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience,” GJEPC proudly highlights how its events actively contribute to the betterment of the planet by reducing their carbon footprint and promoting a greener tomorrow.

Commenting on the initiatives, Mr. Kirit Bhansali, Chairman, GJEPC, said, “Sustainability is no longer a choice—it’s a responsibility. At GJEPC, we are committed to integrating sustainability into the DNA of all our exhibitions. Our goal is to inspire the industry to adopt greener practices and do our part for the planet. We partner with eco-conscious vendors. We promote long-term green practices among stakeholders. We continually measure and offset our carbon footprint for the betterment of the planet by reducing their carbon footprint and promoting a greener tomorrow.”

GJEPC’s IIJS, India’s premier jewellery exhibition platform, has been at the forefront of integrating green practices into all aspects of event planning and execution. From modular and reusable stalls to green energy and digital solutions, GJEPC is setting benchmarks in sustainable event management.

Key sustainability measures implemented at IIJS exhibitions include:

  • Modular & Reusable Exhibition Stalls: Built using eco-friendly materials, these reduce construction waste and carbon emissions.
  • 100% Renewable Energy Usage: The entire event is powered by green energy sources, significantly reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
  • ‘One Earth, An IIJS Initiative’ Tree Plantation Drive: Over 1 lakh trees have been planted, with one tree planted for every visitor who registers for IIJS.
  • Eco-Friendly Branding: Fabric banners and non-toxic inks replace traditional PVC flexes, minimizing environmental harm.
  • Digital Badges: Use of digital badges and face recognition systems replaces plastic-based badges, increasing both sustainability and security.
  • Reusable Show Bags and Cutlery: Promoting a zero-waste approach in promotional material and cafeteria services.
  • Biodegradable Water Bottles: Significantly curbing plastic waste during the event.
  • Eco-Conscious Transport: Transitioning to electric buses and encouraging metro travel to reduce carbon emissions from commuting.
  • Sustainable Special Structures: Built with environmentally friendly, reusable materials.
  • Stakeholder Education: Awareness and education efforts on sustainable practices form a core part of the exhibition experience.

Walking the Talk on Sustainability: GJEPC celebrates World Environment Day with Action, Not Just Awareness. GJEPC reaffirms its steadfast commitment to sustainability through a wide range of eco-conscious initiatives.

As GJEPC continues to innovate and lead by example, it encourages stakeholders across the gem and jewellery industry to embrace sustainable practices and become active participants in protecting the environment.

About The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council’s (GJEPC) flagship show IIJS Premiere:

41st edition of IIJS Premiere 2025, which will be held alongside the IGJME Premiere 2025 (Machinery and Allied Show). This milestone edition will take place across two prominent venues in Mumbai:

  • Jio World Convention Centre (JWCC), BKC: 30th July to 3rd August 2025

About The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC)

The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), set up by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India (GoI) in 1966, is one of several Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) launched by the Indian Government, to boost the country’s export thrust, when India’s post-Independence economy began making forays in the international markets. Since 1998, the GJEPC has been granted autonomous status. The GJEPC is the apex body of the gems & jewellery industry and today represents 10700+ members in the sector.  With headquarters in Mumbai, GJEPC has Regional Offices in New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Surat and Jaipur, all of which are major centres for the industry. It thus has a wide reach and is able to have a closer interaction with members to serve them in a direct and more meaningful manner. Over the past decades, GJEPC has emerged as one of the most active EPCs and has continuously strived to both expand its reach and depth in its promotional activities as well as widen and increase services to its members.

Anshula Leaves a Lasting Mark in The Traitors Trailer

Anshula Leaves a Lasting Mark in The Traitors Trailer

There’s a quiet tension that runs through the trailer of The Traitors—a sense that no one can be trusted, that something is always just about to unravel. And then, Anshula says it.

“Aapka koi saga nahi hai, aapko sab thagne aaye hai.”

It’s not loud. It’s not theatrical. But it lands like a gut punch. In a room full of uneasy alliances, her words feel like the only honest thing anyone’s said—and that’s what makes it so unsettling.

The show promises deception, strategy, and shifting loyalties, but it’s this one moment that viewers can’t stop talking about. Anshula doesn’t just deliver a line—she delivers a reality check, both to the players and to us.

She’s not in every frame, but somehow, the weight of her presence lingers long after the trailer ends.
Can’t wait to watch Anshula in this one.
