Vidisha Srivastava's Birthday Celebration: A Day of Gratitude, Laughter, and Surprises!

Vidisha Srivastava, essaying Anita Bhabi’s role in &TV's Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, celebrated her birthday recently. Talking about her birthday celebration this year, Vidisha said, “My preference for birthdays is to keep them simple and intimate. Having dinner with my loved ones after a productive workday is the perfect way to celebrate. This year, I had an exhilarating day that began with a visit to the temple to express gratitude for all the blessings I have received. Later, while shooting for Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, my co-actors surprised me with a cake, and we enjoyed a lovely lunch together. We reminisced about my journey on the set and how much I have grown over the past year. After returning home, I was thrilled to discover that my friends and family had planned a surprise party. It was a reunion of all the people I held dear, some of whom I hadn't seen in years. I was touched by their thoughtful gestures, such as the personalized cake and the decorations filled with cherished memories. Overall, I was overjoyed with how the day turned out, and I couldn't have asked for anything more.” She adds, "I am still excited about my recent birthday celebration. The feeling remains the same as I look forward to my birthday week with anticipation. The only difference is how my perception of celebrating has matured. In the past, it was all about grand gestures and pomp. But now, I see it as a special day to reflect on the past year and cherish all the memories with my loved ones."

TV Actors’ Favourite Bollywood Dancing Diva

TV Actors’ Favourite Bollywood Dancing Diva

Dance is a form of expression that allows us to convey emotions and tell stories. On International Dance Day&TV actors discuss their favourite Bollywood celebrity dancers and their aspiration to perform with them on stage someday. These actors include Anita Pradhan (Malti Devi, Doosri Maa), Kamna Pathak (Rajesh Singh, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and Shubhangi Atre (Angoori, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai). As Malti Devi in Doosri Maa, Anita Pradhan reveals, "Dance runs in my veins, and I cannot imagine my life without it. Although people recognize me as an actress in this industry, they are unaware I am also a professional dancer and instructor. I keep performing all around the world. My roots belong to folk dance since I come from Jaipur. I represented Rajasthani folk dance during the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi on the Rajpath. Even though I am content with my journey as a dancer, I dream of performing with the stunning Rekha one day. I admire her as much as I admire the art of dance. I still watch her charismatic performances in songs like Salam-e-Ishq and Ankhon Ki Masti. I watched her movies on television and mimicked her movements and gestures. Someday, I hope to share the stage with her and perform one of her dancing routines."

Kamna Pathak, who portrays Rajesh Singh in Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, expresses"Dancing makes me feel relieved and confident. I was inspired to learn how to dance by the legendary actress Sridevi Ji. Even though she is no longer with us, I am certain that, like me, thousands of girls fell in love with dance after watching her perform. I have been a massive fan and have seen her movies multiple times. Nobody could match her energy and expression while performing any dance number. When I was in school, I danced to many of her songs. My friends called me 'Hamari Sridevi,' and I was overjoyed. If someone is your idol, their mannerisms are reflected in your dance moves. Sridevi Ji was undoubtedly the dancing queen of Bollywood, and I don't believe anyone can top her. She always left me in awe whenever I watched her perform in 'Mere hathon mein nau churiyan, Hawa Hawaii,' and many others. I always wished to share the stage with her, but that dream will remain unfulfilled. I dedicate this International Dance Day to my idol, Sridevi." Shubhangi Atre, aka Angoori, from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, shares, “Madhuri Dixit is the epitome of dance in Bollywood, and I enjoy watching her dance with so much grace and style on screen. No one can match her perfection. The title 'Dancing Diva' is genuinely hers. As a dance enthusiast, I could watch her perform for hours, and her expressions and smiles were captivating. She inspired me to pursue my passion for dancing. Besides Bollywood, I appreciate Indian classical dance forms. Even if my work schedule is hectic, I take some time out to dance every day. I remember the day when Jackie Shroff Dada was shooting with us, and he compared me to the iconic Madhuri Ji. I was on cloud nine that day, and it was one of the most fulfilling compliments I had ever received. Madhuri Ji and I are trained Kathak dancers, and it is one of my dreams to perform with her. Fingers crossed, I hope everyone can use dancing as a medium to express themselves and stay fit. I wish everyone a spirited International Dance Day.”

Imran Nazir Khan reveals how Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai catalysed his foray into comedy

Imran Nazir Khan reveals how Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai catalysed his foray into comedy

Imran Nazir Khan, renowned in television, OTT and film circles for his character Timmy - the celebrity cricketer in &TV’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai - is immensely popular for his masterly comic timing. The actor talks about his journey in the entertainment world and his ideal role.

1. How much are you enjoying working with the Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai team?

I'm truly grateful to be a part of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai and highly appreciate the response I've received for my character Timmy. I was already a huge admirer of the show, and Vibhuti has to be my favourite character. Never could I have imagined that one day I'd actually have the opportunity to be part of this remarkable programme and even perform alongside Aasif Sheikh Sir. It's certainly one of the funniest and most enthralling shows on Indian television, so it's like a stroke of luck for me to be included! Everyone working on set is very friendly and welcoming, plus we often enjoy ourselves during shooting with all our jokes. My family were so overjoyed when they saw me appearing in an episode; being fans, you can imagine their ecstatic reactions!

2. Aasif Ji has been a professional cricketer himself; did he share any tips and tricks with you while shooting for the episode?

I didn't know how good he was at sports until I worked with him on the cricket sequence. His insight into the minute details of batting grips and stances when we shot together amazed me. He was instrumental in helping me nail the right positions for batting. The zeal he demonstrated for cricket scenes intrigued me, and he soon revealed that he started playing cricket in his early twenties in Delhi. I incorporated all his advice into my filming, and it paid off hugely. Learning from an experienced actor with great knowledge of the game was delightful. He is something special to me!

3. As an engineer, why did you choose acting as your career?

Ever since I was a child, it has been my dream to be an actor. Living in a small town in Kashmir as the son of a local businessperson with no prior ties to the entertainment industry, this seemed like an almost impossible goal. My family wanted me to focus on engineering and support our family business. Still, even after my degree, I couldn't ignore the feeling that acting was what I wanted. When I told them that I was going to Mumbai to pursue my dreams, they were displeased - they tried hard to make me stay and change my mind, but I knew that if I wanted it enough, nothing would stop me. So off I went! Initially, I started by doing commercials and gradually worked my way up after facing several rejections during auditions until finally landing a role as an antagonist. From thereon, I experienced much success with comedic roles, so I firmly believe one should always follow their heart when choosing a career.

4. How much do you enjoy doing comedy?

I have taken great joy in performing comedy roles during my career, and thankfully, I'm getting more opportunities to do so. Making the audience roar with laughter is one of acting's greatest challenges, and I'm grateful for the chance to tackle it. Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai spurred me on to seek out more comedic parts.

5. Soon, you are making your Bollywood debut. Is it your break, or are you waiting for something greater?

Yaariyan 2 isn't the project that will mark my ultimate breakthrough in Bollywood. I've got another movie coming up soon—that's what I expect to be my ace in the hole when it comes to making it on the silver screen, as I'm playing the lead role.
