Smita Tambe gets appreciation for her performance in Film Panga

अभिनेत्री स्मिता तांबे ह्यांची नुकतीच पंगा फिल्म झळकली. ह्या सिनेमात भारतीय कबड्डी टिमच्या कॅप्टनच्या भूमिकेत दिसलेल्या स्मिता तांबे ह्यांच्याशी त्यानिमित्ताने साधलेला हा संवाद

पंगा सिनेमामध्ये तुम्ही स्मिता तांबे ह्याच भूमिकेत दिसला आहात ? भूमिकेचे नाव तुमच्याच नावाने असण्याचे काय कारण आहे ?

-          पंगा सिनेमा मला ऑफर झाला. तेव्हा भारतीय कबड्डी टिमच्या कॅप्टनची भूमिका मला ऑफर झाली होती. ह्या भूमिकेचे नाव माझ्याच नावावरून ठेवण्यात आले होते, ह्याचे मलाही आश्चर्य वाटले. ही माझी अशी पहिली फिल्म आहे ज्यात मी स्मिता तांबे ही माझ्याच नावाची व्यक्तिरेखा साकारत आहे. खरं तर लेखकाने माझा उल्लेख संहितेत कॅप्टन एवढाच केला होता. पण सिनेमाच्या दिग्दर्शिका अश्विनी अय्यर तिवारी ह्यांनी माझी भारतीय कबड्डी टिमच्या कॅप्टन ह्या भूमिकेसाठी माझी निवड केल्यावर मग भूमिकेला माझं खरं नाव देण्याचा विचार केला. मी साकारत असलेल्या ह्या स्मिताचं कब्बडी हे पॅशन आहे. माझ्यात आणि ह्या भूमिकेतलं हेच साम्य पडद्यावर ही भूमिका साकारताना मला उपयोगी पडलं.  

तुम्ही ह्यात कबड्डी टिमच्या कॅप्टनच्या भूमिकेत आहात? ह्याआधी कधी कबड्डी  खेळला होतात का?

-          मी शाळेत असताना कबड्डी खेळायचे. त्यानंतर शिक्षण आणि नंतर अभिनय क्षेत्रात करीयर यामूळे कबड्डी मागे राहिली. पण ह्यासिनेमानिमीत्ताने माझ्यातली कबड्डी प्लेअर पुनरूज्जीवीत झाल्यामूळे मला खूप आनंद मिळाला. सिनेमात आपण जया निगमचा (कंगना रनौत) आपल्या आवडत्या खेळासाठीचा एक प्रवास पाहतो. तशीच ह्या सिनेमामूळे माझ्यामधली जया निगम सुखावल्याचं मला जाणवलं. सिनेमाच्यावेळी आमची कोच गौरी तर आम्हांला एखाद्या खरोखरीच्या स्पर्धेसाठी शिकवत असल्यासारखी कबड्डी शिकवायची. एखाद्या कसलेल्या खेळाडूने जेवढी कब्बडी स्पर्धेसाठी तयारी करावी, तेवढी आम्हाला कोचने करायला लावली होती.  

सिनेमासाठी काय तयारी केलीत?

-          जवळपास दिड वर्ष मी कबड्डीची प्रॅक्टिस केली. माझी दिनचर्याच कबड्डीमूळे बदलून गेली होती. रोज सकाळी सहा वाजता मैदानात प्रॅक्टिसला पोहोचायचे. एखाद्या खेळाडूसारखाच माझा व्यायाम आणि आहार असायचा. माझ्या सिनेमातल्या बॉडीलँग्वेजमधून ही भारतीय कबड्डी टिमची कॅप्टन असल्याचे जाणवण्यासाठी माझ्या नसानसात हा खेळ भिनणं ही माझी जबाबदारी होती. मला सेटवर सगळे कॅप्टन म्हणूनच संबोधायचे त्यामूळेही मला आपण टिमचे नेत्तृत्व करत असल्यासारखे वाटायचे. आणि आपोआप भूमिका साकारायला त्यामूळे मदत झाली.

अश्विनी अय्यर तिवारी ह्यांच्यासोबत काम करण्याचा अनुभव कसा होता?

-          अश्विनीमॅमची एक खासियत आहे की, सेटवर शंभर माणसं असतील तरीही, त्यांचे सेटवरच्या प्रत्येकाशी एक वेगळं नातं निर्माण होतं. त्यांच्या व्यक्तिमत्वातचं ती काहीतरी एक खासियत आहे. त्या तुमच्याशी खूप आत्मियतेने बोलतात. पंगाच्या शेवटच्या दिवशी तर अश्विनी मॅमने मला स्वहस्ते एक पत्र लिहून दिले. एवढ्या मोठ्या दिग्दर्शिकेने माझं केलेलं कौतुक भारावून टाकणारं आहे. ते पत्र माझ्यासाठी खूप खास आहे. ते मी माझ्या घराच्या भिंतीवर फ्रेम करून आज लावलंय.

कंगना रनौत सोबत स्क्रिन शेअर करण्यासोबत काय सांगाल?

-          कंगना रनौत ही एक प्रगल्भ अभिनेत्री आहे. मी तिच्या अभिनयाची चाहती आहे. तिच्यासोबत सेटवर वावरताना मी तिचे अनेकदा निरीक्षण करायचे. ती खूप तन्मयतेने काम करते. कबड्डी खेळताना फुटवर्क कसे असावे, त्याचवेळी भूमिकेनूसार करावा लागणारा आंगिक अभिनय याचा खूप सुक्ष्म पातळीवर कंगनाचा अभ्यास असायचा.  सिनेमामध्ये स्मिता(स्मिता तांबे) आणि जया(कंगना रनौत) ह्यांच्यात एक व्दंव्दं दाखवलंय. अशावेळी कॅप्टन स्मिता एका सीनमध्ये जयाला म्हणते की, “चलो कमसे कम इस बहाने तुम मॅट पे तो आयी’ ... त्यावेळी कंगना मॉनिटरसमोर उभी राहून माझा अभिनय पाहत होती. आणि मला सीननंतर ‘तुझे डोळे इंटेन्स आहेत’, अशी कॉम्प्लिमेन्ट दिली. तो क्षण मी कधीच विसरू शकतं नाही.

रिचासोबत काम करण्याचा अनुभव कसा होता?

-          पाण्यामध्ये एखादा रंग मिसळून जावा, तशी रिचा लोकांमध्ये मिसळून जाते. रिचा आणि माझे सिनेमात एकत्र सीन नसले तरीही, तिने आणि मी एकत्र कबड्डी प्रॅक्टिस केलेली आहे. अभिनेत्री म्हणून मला तिचा खूप आदर आहे. खरं तर कोणत्याही सिनेमाच्या तयारीची दिड महिन्याची प्रक्रिया असते.पण ह्या सिनेमाची मात्र दिड वर्ष तयारी आम्ही केली. आणि आता ती तयारी फळाला आली असं म्हणावे लागेल.

जशी पंगा सिनेमामध्ये जया निगम समाजव्यवस्थेशी पंगा घेते तसा पंगा तुम्ही कधी ख-या आयुष्यात घेतलाय का ?

-          हो मी सिनेसृष्टीत जेव्हा पाऊल ठेवले होते. तेव्हा ‘सामान्य दिसण्यामूळे’ मला रिजेक्शनला सामोरे जावे लागले. पण त्यामूळेच स्वत:ला अभिनेत्री म्हणून सिध्द करायचं बळ मला मिळाले. त्यामूळे कुठेतरी जयामध्ये मी स्वत:ला पाहत होते. 

सहजीवनाच्या प्रवासाची सुरुवात

 क्रांतिकारी सहजीवनाची सुरुवात

 

नव्या वर्षात सोनी मराठी वाहिनीवर सुरू झालेली, सावित्रीबाई आणि जोतीराव फुले यांच्या सहजीवनावर आधारित सावित्रीजोती ही मालिका सध्या चांगलीच गाजत आहे.

आत्तपर्यंतच्या भागांमध्ये छोट्या जोतीची शिक्षणाची ओढ आणि रुढी-परंपरांबद्दल त्याला पडणारे प्रश्न हे प्रेक्षकांनी पाहिलं आहे. छोटी सावीसुद्धा हुशार, चुणचुणीत आणि मनानं हळवी आहे. तिची आजूबाजूच्या व्यक्तींना सांभाळून घेण्याची सवय आणि सर्वांबद्दलची कळकळ तिच्या वागण्यातून दिसते.आता घरातल्यांच्या पसंतीनं सावित्री आणि जोतीरावांचा विवाह ठरला आहे.

मालिकेतल्या येत्या काही भागांत सावित्रीबाई आणि जोतीराव यांचा विवाह संपन्न होणार आहे. ज्यांनी इतिहास घडवला अशा दोन व्यक्तींच्या सहजीवनाची सुरुवात म्हणजेच हे लग्न, पण ते वाटत तितकं सोपं नाही. या लग्नात विचारांचा संघर्ष आहे, मान-अपमानाचा खेळ आहे. आत्तापर्यंत काही ना काही कुरबुरी करणारे केशवभट्ट लग्नात अडथळा आणू पाहतात. जोतीरावांचे नातेवाईकसुद्धा स्वतःच्या स्वार्थसाठी लग्न मोडण्याचा प्रयत्न करतात आणि तो प्रयत्न फसल्यावर ते हुंडा मागण्याचाही प्रयत्न करतात पण त्या वेळी जोतीरावांचे वडील मध्ये पडून सावित्रीच्या घरातल्यांची बाजू घेऊन हुंडा घेण्यास नकार देतात. जोतीरावांवर  झालेल्या संस्कारांची पाळेमुळे यातून दिसून येतात.

लगीनसराई सुरू झाल्यावर होणाऱ्या काही प्रथांविषयी छोटा जोती प्रश्न विचारताना दिसतो. त्याच्या वावरण्यातून त्याच्या वागण्यातून त्याचे समाजप्रबोधनाचे विचार दिसून येतात. जोतींरावांनी आपल्या अस्पृश्य मित्रांवर नेऊन उधळलेला भंडारा असुंदे, नर्मदेच्या बालविवाह विरोधात उठवलेला आवाज असुदे. हे सर्व त्या काळाच्या पुढचं होतं.

सावित्रीबाई आणि जोतीराव  खरंच आभाळाएवढी माणसं होती. त्यांच्या वागण्यातून आणि विचारातून हे पदोपदी स्पष्ट झालेलं आहे.

सावित्रीबाई आणि जोतीरावांचे लग्न हा संपूर्ण समाजासाठी एका मोठ्या बदलाचा क्षण होता. या असामान्य जोडप्यानं भविष्यात विचारांची क्रांती घडवून समाजाला नवी दिशा दिली. सावित्रीबाई-जोतीराव हे एक आदर्श दाम्पत्य होते. शांततामय सहजीनाचे व्याकरणच जणू या दोघांनी लिहिले. सावित्रीबाई जेव्हा माप ओलांडून फुले वाड्यात आल्या तेव्हा त्यांनी नवोनत्तीचे माप ओलांडले होते. फुले दाम्पत्याने फक्त समाजप्रबोधनाची वात पेटवली नाही तर विचारांचा नंदादीप सतत तेवत ठेवला.

तर साक्षीदार व्हा अशा या असामान्य जोडप्याच्या अभूतपूर्व विवाह सोहळ्याचे. सोमवार ते शनिवार संध्याकाळी ७:३० वाजता फक्त सोनी मराठी वर.

Starry turnout, wacky hairdos & Queen’s music - Shiva’s celebrates 32nd anniversary

In a glittering show filled with pomp and gaiety, Shiva’s Signature Salons celebrated their 32nd anniversary in the midst of a starry presence by Bollywood’s national award-winning director Madhur Bhandarkar and acclaimed film star Hrishittaa Bhatt.

“This is yet another milestone for Shiva’s, “ said Bhandarkar congratulating his close friend and proprietor of Shiva’s salons, Shivarama Bhandary or Shiva and his wife Anushree. “I wish Shiva’s celebrates many more anniversaries,” he said to a jam-packed audience attending the party in an open-air ground at a suburban hotel. Well-wishers, patrons, close friends, family and the over 300-member staff of Shiva’s that runs 20 salons were present.

The friendship between Bhandarkar and Shivarama Bhandary goes back a long way. Many years ago, when they had met for the first time Shiva’s consisted of only two salons and the noted filmmaker had made his first film, Chandni Bar.

South-Indian actor Sourabh Bhandary, Shiv Sena MP Rahul Shewale, Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, owner of a media group Neeraj Gupta, Yogesh Lakhani of Bright Outdoor Pvt Ltd., Businessman Suresh Bhandary and many prominent people attended the celebrations.

“I wish Shiva’s a huge success and may they go from strength to strength,” added Bhatt, who is seen in a prominent role in her latest outing a web series, The Chargesheet.

The house of Shiva’s has scaled many heights with bespoke signature salons and spas and their own line of skin and beauty products called Shiva’s Trends. Recently, a memoir of Shiva’s life journey titled Styling at the Top was released. It is perhaps the first of its kind book on a hairstylist in India, published by Amaryllis, an imprint of Manjul Publishing House.

The fun-filled evening had a mix of Bollywood and funky music, jazzy dance performances, emotional skits and glitzy fashion shows choreographed by the husband-wife duo Mr. Girish and Meetali Dhoot. While Shweta Bhandary of Shiva organized the hair and make-up show, which had a display of the latest trend in beauty and styling of brides and grooms. The grand finale’s theme being wild and wacky had models appropriately walking the ramp to Queen and Freddie Mercury’s “We will, we will rock you…” number while displaying hairstyles of conical shapes, big spikes, huge hair rings, hair headgears, and hair attire too.

The highpoint of the show was two hairdos that clearly stood out and spoke of the times that we are living. Sported by two staffers as models, one depicted the symbol of peace on the hair, which evoked memories of the first prize won by Shiva, the World Peace Award in 1998 at the Salon competition in Mumbai. The second model had only two words carved out in his hair - NO WAR.

The message one took home after an exciting evening was - love peace and say no to war.

VIVAAN SHAH WALKS ON HIS FATHER'S FOOTSTEPS & CHOOSES A FILM "KABAAD- THE COIN" UNEXPLORED IN INDIAN CINEMA SO FAR

From 7 Khoon Maaf to Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana, Vivaan Shah's films prove that we now have an actor who can masterfully balance between content-driven and commercial cinema. His recent film "Kabaad- The Coin" under the Banner- MBN Entertainment Pvt. Ltd, Directed by -  Varadraj Swami, Produced by-  Meena Negi, Babban Negi, Co-Produced by- Deepak Prajapat, Babban Negi is also another out-of-the-box script.    

Playing a Ragman (Kabadi) in the film, Vivaan took 90 days to understand & adapt the nuances & play the role to his utmost perfection. Vivaan along with the director Varadraj Swami used to interact with Ragmen to get in the skin of his character. In fact, Vivaan invited his mother Ratna Pathak on the sets of the film to show her how he is shaping his character. Vivaan also tanned himself to look like the character.

Calling Vivaan a director's delight, Varadraj Swami, who has penned the critically acclaimed film Manjhi the mountain says "Acting runes in his blood. He comes from a family of brilliant actors. It is commendable that so early in his career, he is eager to experiment with his roles & choose a character that explores his credentials as an actor. He is a director's delight. His ideology is rare & genius, just like his father"

Known to pick unconventional storylines every time he signs a film, Vivaan Shah says "Trying to play a kabaadiwala was a fascinating process. We have all observed hatgaadi pullers on the road in our everyday life, but to truly replicate the nuances, body language and cadences of a Ragman required some focussed study and observation. The way they pull the cart or the calls they send out across the streets in order to sell their wares. It is all very specific and needed to be replicated authentically" further adds "In these, I played a servant boy, a driver, a waiter and a Dalit respectively. I would say Kabaad- The Coin belongs to a similar category where it has a planetarian hero. I find that more interesting than playing a big city boy or a privileged person. The director Vardraj Swami and the writer Shahzad Ahmed were of invaluable help to me in trying to render true the nuances, speech, and practices of a kabaadiwala. Also what the three of us had fun with was the Bumbaiya language. I'm playing a Maharashtrian character called Bandhan and I just had a blast speaking in Bumbaiya because that is the language I have grown up speaking with my friends on the street. It's a vernacular I am deeply familiar with and hopefully, I have been able to represent it authentically in the film"

"I love both realistic and slightly fantastic cinema. It was an immense challenge to play a character that was outside the realm of my experience and also from different strata of society. I've played a working-class character about 4 times now. In 7 Khoon Maaf, Bombay Velvet, Laali ki Shaadi Mein laddoo Deewana and Coat" says Vivaan Shah

Ihana Dhillon to travel to Faridkot in Punjab to meet kids from the rural areas on the occasion of Republic Day!

Ihana Dhillon is traveling to her hometown in Punjab to celebrate the republic day with the rural kids of Faridkot. Ihana will be next seen in Bhuj: The pride of India and she will star alongside Ajay Devgn in that.

Ihana has time and again done this and made time for kids and anybody she can help. She has been a true agent of change. We spoke to the pretty actor and this is what she had to say, " It's my good luck that I get to meet kids in these areas. Faridkot is a small town with nature and beauty all around. I am very excited about this opportunity. I am looking for more such opportunities. I would love to share a few stories about republic day and its relevance to us. I am sure the kids will share a lot of knowledge with me as well. The kids are an amazing bunch of energy and I can't get enough of them. And it really helps to connect with childhood again."

Ihana is a beautiful soul and we all can vouch for her. She will be seen in Bhuj next and she is gearing up for that but before that she is going to meet up kids and we are all in awe of this beautiful soul.

Ritu Phogat aims to continue winning streak at ONE

Phogat, who belongs to India’s most famous wrestling family, sizzled in her debut late last year when she beat Nam Hee Kim in the first round by technical knockout. 

The 25-year-old will need to be at the top of her game against Wu, who is looking to make an impact in her debut.

“It was quite challenging to leave wrestling and join another sport but the win has increased my confidence. The ambiance at ONE Championship has been amazing and I am overwhelmed by the love and support I have received so far from fans and from my teammates here in Singapore. I am looking forward to getting a win again,” said Phogat.

Other than Phogat, there will be 11 other bouts. In the main event, ONE World Champion Stamp Fairtex of Thailand is scheduled to defend her ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Title against Janet “J.T.” Todd of the United States. The two were involved in an epic battle at the inaugural ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Championship battle in early 2019 and would reprise their sizzling rivalry with the ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Championship on the line.
