अभिनेता कार्तिकेय मालवीया त्याच्या पहिल्या वहिल्या म्युझिक अल्बमविषयी सांगतो, "हा माझा पहिलाच म्युझिक अल्बम आहे आणि त्यात मराठी भाषेत आहे. त्यामुळे मी खूप उत्सुक आहे. कारण मला मराठी बोलता येत नाही. पण थोडेफार शब्द कळतात. मी सेटवर शुटींग करताना मराठी गाणं गुणगुणत होतो पण कधीकधी शब्द चुकत होते. त्यामुळे सेटवर सगळे हसत होते. परंतु आम्ही सगळ्यांनी सेटवर खूप धम्माल मस्ती केली. सचिन सरांनी मला हे गाणं करण्याची संधी दिली. त्यासाठी त्यांचे मनापासून आभार!"

अभिनेत्री सई कांबळे चित्रीकरणाचा किस्सा सांगताना म्हणते, "मला फार मजा आली शूट करताना कारण हे माझं पहिलं गाणं आहे ज्यात मी लीड एक्ट्रेस आहे. हेवी आऊटफीटमध्ये नृत्य करणं हे फार चॅलेंजिंग होतं. आणि माझे वडील सचिन कांबळे या गाण्याचे दिग्दर्शन करत होते. त्यामुळे मी या गाण्यासाठी प्रामाणिक प्रयत्न केलेत. कार्तिकेय आणि मी ७ वर्षांनंतर भेटत होतो. आम्ही रिॲलिटी शोमध्ये असताना सोबत नाश्ता आणि रिअर्सल करायचो. तिथे आम्ही कॉम्पीटीटर होतो. पण या गाण्यात आम्ही लीड होतो. त्यात या गाण्याचं शूटिंग एका दिवसात पार पडलं. तरी आम्ही खूप मजा केली."

दिग्दर्शक सचिन कांबळे 'रागिनी' या गाण्याविषयी सांगतात,"मी आत्तापर्यंत आपली यारी, मी नादखुळा, आपलीच हवा, चिंतामणी माझा, माझी ताई  अश्या ५० हून अधिक म्युझिक अल्बमचं दिग्दर्शन केलं आहे. काही गाण्यांची कोरिओग्राफी सुद्धा मी केलीय. मला खूप दिवसांपासून एनर्जेटीक आणि डान्सीकल गाणं करण्याची इच्छा होती. म्हणूनच आम्ही 'रागिनी' हे गाणं‌ करण्याचा विचार केला. सई आणि कार्तिकेय हे दोघेही इंडियाज बेस्ट ड्रामेबाज या रिॲलिटी शो मध्ये एकमेकांचे कॉम्पीटीटर जरी असले तरी त्यांची छान मैत्री होती. 'रागिनी' गाण्यात देखील त्यांची रिअल बॉंडींग चांगल्याप्रकारे दिसून आली‌ आहे. रागिनी हे गाणं 'आरती पाठक' हिने लिहीले असून गायक 'मधूर शिंदे' आणि गायिका 'अंशिका चोणकर' यांनी गायले आहे. तर संगीत संयोजन 'आशिष पडवळ'ने केले आहे. या गाण्याला सोशल मीडियावर खूप चांगला प्रतिसाद मिळतोय त्यामुळे सर्व प्रेक्षकांचे मी आभार मानतो. असंच प्रेम कायम असू द्या!"

Hon’ble Minister of Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, and Mr Olivier Becht, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade, Economic Attractiveness and French Nationals Abroad, Government of France, who are currently attending the G20 Trade and Investment working group meetings (TIMM) in Jaipur, inaugurated the “NAVARATAN” exhibition, which is held on the sidelines of the G20 TIMM at the Chandra Mahal, Sawai Man Singh Mahal, Rambagh Palace Hotel, Jaipur.

Part of a series of exhibitions aligned with the G20 Trade and Investment Ministerial Meeting, the "Navaratan" offers an engaging spectacle for distinguished G20 delegates, showcasing the city's expertise in gems and jewellery, textiles and handicrafts. The theme revolved around the concept of “NAVARATAN” symbolising the nine precious stones in different colours and their influence on the Jewellery, Traditional Crafts, and vibrant textiles of Rajasthan thus contributing to the diverse heritage of the region. This comprehensive exhibition aims to foster collaboration, encourage investments, and promote trade between domestic and international stakeholders in these sectors.

Mr. Piyush Goyal, along with Mr. Olivier Becht interacted with artisans at the experience zone. They sought to gain insights into the intricate processes of crafting various gems and jewellery items and a wide variety of indigenous textiles from Rajasthan like Dabu, Block Print, Bandhani, Gotta Patti, Ralli Patchwork & Kota Doria. Also, traditional handicrafts such as ornate & carved boxes, adorned figurines, marble gold leaf work, hand-painted wooden handicrafts, inlay work and Jodhpur Jutties. 

 

The captivating experience zone representing gems and jewellery organised by The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), showcased Rajasthan as a prominent global jewellery hub. This innovative zone immersed delegates in the intricate art of jewellery making, showcasing the journey of the traditional art of Kundan Meena, diamonds and precious gemstones from the mines to market and the meticulous craftsmanship process that goes into each creation. Central to this experience are exclusive stands that proudly display the breathtaking spectrum of coloured gemstones, spanning from their raw forms to cut specimens, integrated into jewellery pieces expertly.

Mr. Vipul Shah, Chairman, of GJEPC, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "The exhibition exemplifies the seamless fusion of tradition and modernity that characterizes Jaipur's industries.” He emphasized how this dynamic blend not only preserves heritage but also propels Jaipur's industries towards a vibrant and innovative future.

Also, there were live craft demonstrations of Thikri Craft, Block Printing, Lac Bangles, Blue Pottery and Sanjhi Art to make the event more immersive and interactive for the delegates to give a firsthand experience of the rich craft traditions and Heritage of Rajasthan.

Complementing this, the event also featured stands that spotlight Rajasthan's cultural opulence, presenting meticulously carved boxes, ornate handbooks, exquisite jewellery and adorned figurines that reflect the region's rich heritage. The immersive experience zone of Gems & Jewellery also unfolded the rich traditions, intricate craftsmanship and the meticulous process of Rajasthan’s jewellery-making art through a captivating movie.

With more than 300 delegates poised to converge from G20 countries, this pivotal meeting (TIMM) is chaired by the Hon’ble Union Commerce and Industry Minister, Mr Piyush Goyal himself. His visionary leadership sets the tone for discussions that will shape global trade and investment policies under the Indian Presidency. Jaipur serves as a perfect backdrop where delegates get a brief but immersive experience of India’s rich cultural heritage, art & traditions.

Salaam Bombay Foundation’s “Fitness Monitors” had the unique opportunity to interact with Mr. Rahane and receive insights on his fitness journey 

Mumbai, August 24^th, 2023: Salaam Bombay Foundation’s (SBF) Sports Academy organized a mentoring session with Indian cricketer Ajinkya Rahane for its ‘Fitness Monitors’ adolescent students studying in municipal or government-aided schools, who are trained under the Academy’s Fitness Program and handpicked for their long term interest in fitness. The goal of the event was to inspire adolescents to adopt a lifestyle of fitness while becoming change agents within their communities. As part of the session, the students had the opportunity to interact with Mr. Rahane where they learned about his journey of fitness on his way to becoming one of India’s top cricketers. SBF also organized for Mr. Rahane and the students to engage in fun fitness activities which combined aspects of cricket, fitness, and motor skill development.

 

SBF’s 100-hour-2-year Fitness Program has been designed to help underprivileged adolescents maintain fitness levels while increasing their participation in various sports. The program also provides a platform for adolescents to explore career opportunities in fitness and other areas within the sports industry. SBF has gone one step ahead with the “Citizens Initiative” where enthusiastic students showcasing a motivation to make an impact on their communities with a potential to pursue a career in sports and fitness are selected as ‘Fitness Monitors’. These Fitness Monitors then advocate the importance of fitness by mobilizing and conducting sessions in the community while also digitally tracking each community member’s fitness levels throughout the sessions. SBF provides students tablets for the digital tracking of fitness levels where Fitness Monitors review and guide community members on their fitness levels. This also ensures that the adolescents are being updated with technological skills relevant to the sports industry.

 

With the hope of contributing to the Indian Government’s ‘Fit India Movement’ launched in August 2019 by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, SBF expanded the ‘Fitizens Initiative’ from slum lanes to Ganpati Pandals, Community Gardens, MCGM Bus Depots, Old Age Homes and Corporate Offices. SBF and the adolescent Fitness Monitors work together to identify target groups and also customize fitness sessions based on the age and fitness levels of the target group. Every community member enrolled is taken through a cycle of 5 fitness sessions including ‘Strengthen Your Everyday Movement’, ‘Fitness Anywhere and Anytime’, and ‘Change Your Mindset to Change Your Lifestyle’ among others.

 

Mr. Ajinkya Rahane said, “Salaam Bombay Foundation’s “Fitness Program” as well as the “Citizens Initiative” is a great way to promote fitness amongst underprivileged adolescents and their communities. This unique format of appointing these adolescents as ambassadors of good health will definitely have a catalytic impact on their lives. I believe that every child studying in a municipal or government school must have access to fitness programs like the one conducted by SBF, while encouraging them to spread the spirit of good health, both for mind and body amongst their communities. I am happy to have shared my principles of fitness and inspired these bright and motivated students. They have promised to hold up the torch of good health for their communities. To date, the Salaam Bombay Sports Academy has trained 2,200 students (1,050 or approximately 48% are girls) through the “Fitness Program” out of which 100 have been selected as ‘Fitness Monitors’. In the last one year, more than 4,400 community members across India have been trained by our adolescent ‘Fitness Monitors’ through the “Citizens Program”.

A CHILD IN SCHOOL HAS A FUTURE

 

Salaam Bombay Foundation started in 2002 to work with 12- to 17-year-old adolescent children growing up in Mumbai’s slums. These children live in extreme poverty and in “at-risk” environments. The municipal schools they go to do not have the resources to give them individual attention, career guidance, or access to activities that stimulate the mind. Many are undernourished and face the risk of substance abuse. They come from financially challenged homes and are pressured to drop out of secondary school and seek jobs to support their families. Given these ground realities, Salaam Bombay Foundation has harnessed the ability of child-friendly, innovative education tools to develop life skills and coping skills necessary to ensure that these adolescents develop into well-rounded personalities, able to meet the challenges they face and take on leadership roles within their communities.

 

The Foundation keeps children in school by empowering them to make the right choices about their health, education, and livelihood thereby ensuring that they can thrive with a bright future. In-school leadership and advocacy programs equip "at-risk" adolescents with the life skills they need to lead change. The Sports, Arts, and Media academies encourage them to express themselves and provide performance opportunities that build self-esteem. The skills@school program broadens their career horizons and empowers them with vocational skills for sustainable careers. Through its DreamLab initiative, SBF has provided a continuum of skills training and market-based internships to youngsters in the age group of 14 and 18 years. Launched in July 2019, DreamLab has been able to furnish stipend-based internships to 163 skills@school alumni across nine job sectors. DreamLab also creates a talent pool of grassroots entrepreneurial adolescents. Salaam Bombay initiatives increase confidence, give vulnerable adolescents the means to earn part-time and stay in school and provide the tools to explore their full potential.
