Is Kamna Pathak television’s Sonakshi Sinha?

The pretty looking Kamna Pathak is all set to play a mother to 9 notorious children on &TV’s titled comical caper, ‘Happu Ki Ultan Paltan’. Big in the theatre scene and wanting to be an actress since she was a child, Kamna has done a lot of plays directed by notable directors and is now ready to shine on the television screen. The actress who has been an ardent follower of &TV shows is elated to be a part of the comedy show ‘Happu Ki Ultan Paltan’ which will also see Yogesh Tripathi as Happu Singh and veteran actress Himani Shivpuri as Katori Amma.

An interesting fact is that Kamna resembles a famous Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha. Ironically her look in Happu also is like that of Sonakshi’s in her first film Dabangg. “Every aspect of my character Rajesh in Happu, be it the attire, hairstyle and makeup, resembles Sonakshi Sinha’s look in Dabangg to a large extent and I take that as a huge compliment. Rajesh is a bindass and an outspoken woman who tries her best to manipulate situations around her husband to get things done. She comes across as an adamant wife but at the same time, is very warm and welcoming if approached in the right manner,” says Kamna.

The actress says that she feels lucky to have got this role as the makers wanted to cast someone with a Bundelkhandi accent and Kamna perfectly fit the bill! She says, “I come from Madhya Pradesh so the Bundelkhandi accent comes naturally to me as my mom and I converse in the same accent. Though talking to her was easy, when it came to enacting the lines for Happu, it was slightly difficult as I had to incorporate a certain rawness in the tone. My mother who came to my rescue, ensured that I get the accent correct and helped me refine the tone. I also feel that the Bundelkhandi accent is not explored widely on television which makes the entire process even more exciting.

&TV’s tentatively titled comedy show Happu will delve deep into the other side of Happu Singh and the numerous dilemmas the police officer faces back at home with his daring wife, an obstinate mother and a set of 9 distinct young children. Sandwiched between his mother’s and his wife’s arguments, Happu often has to bear the brunt of their irritation with each other, while simultaneously managing each kid’s mischievous acts.

She further adds, “It gives me utmost happiness and pleasure to share the screen with veteran actress Himani Shivpuri in Happu. I have grown up watching her work as she has performed some of the most phenomenal roles in television and films. I am looking forward to sharing the screen with her and learn from her in the due course of the show. Himaniji is a powerhouse and a treasure of talent I am looking forward to getting some tips on my acting. Yogesh on the other hand is a wonderful artist who brings out his character effortlessly. It is going to be a fun journey and audiences are going to enjoy a this laugh riot with Happu alongside his mother, wife and nine kids.”

Shivya Pathania’s first double act in Vikram Betaal Ki Rahasya Gaatha

&TV’s Vikram Betaal Ki Rahasya Gaatha has been entertaining viewers through its interesting stories on King Vikramaditya and the wily ghost Betaal. The current chapter of mythological stories in the show has also been greatly appreciated by the audience.  The upcoming track will showcase the story of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi with popular television actress Shivya Pathania playing the role of Goddess Laxmi for the first time. Shivya, who has played notable characters on the small screen before, will be taking the mythological route for the first time and that too in a double role. The talented actress will not only essay the role of Goddess Lakshmi, but also the role of Goddess Gayatri, a double treat for the audience.

Sharing about her experience of playing a double role in her first mythological track Shivya says, “I have always wanted to be a part of mythological stories as I believe they bring out the best in an actor with a unique shooting experience. We’ve all heard about the legendary stories of Vikram & Betaal which are beautifully presented through Vikram Betaal Ki Rahasya Gaatha, but I love the fact that it also showcases other mythological stories that the audience thoroughly enjoy as well. Mythology as a genre is content driven and needs to be showcased in the right manner to the audience without faltering. Playing the two divine characters in the show has definitely added a lot of value to me as an actress. The story is the key to this episode as it depicts a message that imperfection is beauty. This is a lesson I took away along with me from the story.”

The show will see Lord Vishnu requesting Goddess Gayatri to write the vedas capturing the knowledge that was lost due to Hyagreev. (One of the Asurs who wants to kill Lord Vishnu but gets a boon by Goddess Aadi Shakti that only he can kill himself). The knowledge will only come back with the vedas written by Goddess Gayatri. Hyagreev on the other hand tries to steal all the vedas from Goddess Gayatri and he is successful in his attempt. Lord Vishnu urges Goddess Lakshmi to mesmerize Hyagreev with her beauty to retrieve the vedas.

''हप्पू की उलटन पलटन'मधील माझ्या राजेश या व्यक्तिरेखेतील प्रत्येक बाब मग ते कपडे असोत, केशभूषा असो की मेकअप… बऱ्याच गोष्टी दबंगमधील सोनाक्षी सिन्हाच्या लुकशी मिळत्याजुळत्या आहेत. राजेश एक बिनधास्त आणि स्पष्टवक्ती स्त्री आहे. सगळं काही मनासारखं व्हावं यासाठी ती नवऱ्याच्या संदर्भातील गोष्टी तशा घडवून आणण्यासाठी सर्वतोपरी प्रयत्न करते. ती काहीशी खमकी बायको वाटत असली तरी तिच्याशी नीट वागलं तर ती प्रेमळ आहे," असं कामना म्हणाली.

निर्मात्यांना बुंदेलखंडी उच्चारण असणारी अभिनेत्री हवी होती आणि कामना त्यासाठी अगदी योग्य आहे. त्यामुळे, ही भूमिका मिळणे, हे आपलं नशीबच आहे,असं तिला वाटतं. ती म्हणाली, "मी मध्यप्रदेशची आहे. मी आणि आई एकमेकींशी बुंदेलखंडी लहेज्यातच बोलतो त्यामुळे ही शैली माझ्यात अगदी स्वाभाविकपणे आहे. अर्थात, तिच्याशी बोलणं फार सोपं आहे पण हप्पूसाठी संवाद बोलताना ते काहीसं कठीण जातं. कारण, त्यात मला एक प्रकारचा रॉनेस आणायचा आहे.पण, इथेही आईचीच मदत झाली. उच्चारण सुधारून अगदी हवे तसे संवाद म्हणता येतील, यासाठी तिने मदत केली. मला वाटतं टीव्हीवर बुंदेलखंडी भाषेचा फारसा वापर झालेला नाही. त्यामुळेही हे काम फार उत्साहजनक झाले आहे."

&TVच्या या नव्या मालिकेचं नाव 'हप्पू की उलटन पलटन' असे आहे. यात पोलिस अधिकारी हप्पू सिंगची एक वेगळी बाजू आणि त्याला घरी प्रत्ययाला येणारी असंख्य प्रकारची द्विधा मनस्थिती दाखवण्यात येणार आहे. त्याच्या घरी धाडसी बायको, हट्टी आई आणि चक्क ९ मुले आहेत. आई आणि बायकोच्या भांडणात त्याचे सँडविच होते. बऱ्याचदा या दोघींचा राग त्याला सहन करावा लागतो आणि त्याचवेळी मुलांच्या सतत चालणाऱ्या खोड्यांनाही सामोरे जावे लागते.

ती पुढे म्हणाली, "हप्पू की उलटन पलटन'मध्ये ज्येष्ठ अभिनेत्री हिमानी शिवपूरी यांच्यासोबत काम करायला मिळणे हा खूप मोठा आनंद आहे. त्यांनी टेलिव्हिजन आणि सिनेमांमध्ये अत्यंत लक्षणीय भूमिका साकारल्या आहेत. त्यांचे काम पाहत मी मोठी झाली आहे. त्यांच्यासोबत स्क्रीनवर दिसणे आणि मालिकेसाठी काम करताना त्यांच्याकडून शिकणे यासाठी मी उत्सुक आहे. हिमानीजी पॉवरहाऊस आणि प्रतिभेचा खजिना आहेत. त्यांच्याकडून मी अभिनयाच्या काही टिप्सही घेणार आहे. योगेशही भन्नाट अभिनेता आहे. तो अगदी सहज त्याची व्यक्तिरेखा उभी करतो. हे काम मजेशीर असणार आहे. हप्पू, त्याची आई,बायको आणि नऊ मुलांसोबत या विनोदाच्या सफरीवर प्रेक्षकांनाही खूप मजा येणार आहे."

शिव्या आपल्या पहिल्या पौराणिक मालिकेत दुहेरी भूमिका साकारण्याच्या आपल्या अनुभवाविषयी सांगताना म्हणतात, "मला नेहमीच पौराणिक कथानकअसलेल्या मालिकेत काम करायचे होते, कारण माझा विश्वास आहे की त्यामुळे कलाकाराला नव्या प्रकारच्या चित्रीकरणाचा अनुभव मिळतो आणि आपली सर्वोत्कृष्ट कामगिरी करून दाखवण्याची संधी मिळते. आपण सर्वांनी विक्रम आणि वेताळाच्या कल्पित कथांबद्दल ऐकले आहे जे विक्रम बेताल की रहस्यगाथाद्वारे उत्तमरीत्या सादर केले जाते आहे, परंतु मला हे देखील आवडते की इतर पौराणिक कथा सुद्धा प्रेक्षकांना तितक्याच आवडतात. पौराणिक कथा कंटेंटवर आधारित असतात आणि वेगळी शैली असून ती सहजसोप्या पद्धतीने प्रेक्षकांसमोर मांडणे दाखवणे आवश्यक आहे. ह्या मालिकेत दोन दैवीय व्यक्तिरेखासाकारल्याने, अभिनेत्री म्हणून माझ्या क्षमतेत नक्कीच मोलाची भर पडली आहे. ही कथा मालिकेचा मुख्य भाग आहे आणि अपूर्णता हेच खरे सौंदर्य असल्याचेह्यात दाखवले गेले आहे. मी ह्या कथेपासून हाच बोध घेतला आहे.

या मालिकेत भगवान विष्णु देवी गायत्रींना हयग्रीवच्या (असुरांपैकी एक जो भगवान विष्णुचा वध करु इच्छितो पण देवी आदी शक्तीने त्याला वरदान दिले आहे की केवळ तो स्वतःच स्वत: ला मारू शकतो) हातून हरवलेल्या ज्ञानावर कब्जा करणाऱ्या वेदांची रचना करण्याची विनंती करीत आहेत. हे ज्ञान केवळ देवी गायत्री यांनी लिहिलेल्या वेदांमुळेच परत येऊ शकते. दुसरीकडे हयग्रीव देवी गायत्रीच्या सर्व वेदांची चोरी करण्याचा प्रयत्न करतो आणि त्या प्रयत्नात यशस्वी होतो.भगवान विष्णु देवी लक्ष्मीला आवाहन करतात की त्यांनी आपल्या सौंदर्याने हयग्रीवला मंत्रमुग्ध करावे आणि वेद परत मिळवावेत.
