फुले स्मारकाला सोनी मराठी वाहिनीची विशेष मानवंदनासावित्रीबाई फुले आणि जोतीराव फुले यांनी फक्त स्त्रीशिक्षणाचेच नाही, तर संपूर्ण समाजाच्या विकासाचे कार्य केले आहे. फुले दांपत्याचे आयुष्य ही एक महागाथा आहे. समाजाने सुवर्णाक्षरात लिहून ठेवावी आणि वेळोवेळी उजळणी करावी अशी त्यांची जीवनकथा आहे. भारतातली पहिली शिक्षिका होण्याचा मान सावित्रीबाईंना मिळतो. तो मान मिळवण्यासाठी त्यांनी अपार कष्ट घेतले आहेत. त्या काळच्या सनातनी समाजाच्या बंधनांना झुगारून त्यांनी स्वतःसाठीच नाही, तर इतर स्त्रियांसाठीसुद्धा प्रगतीचा मार्ग मोकळा करून दिला. सावित्रीबाई फुले यांना स्त्रीशिक्षणाची जननी म्हणणे चुकीचे ठरणार नाही.स्त्रीशिक्षणाच्या याच जननीची जयंती गेल्या १८९ वर्षांपासून त्यांच्या जन्मगावी, म्हणजेच नायगाव येथे मोठ्या उत्साहात साजरी होते. या जयंतीच्या निमित्ताने नायगाव येथे दरवर्षी हजारोंच्या संख्येने जनसमुदाय जमा होतो. सावित्रीबाईंच्या जन्मवाड्यापासून ते गावातल्या पटांगणापर्यंत पालखी निघते. जयंतीच्या निमित्ताने गावात आलेले सर्व लोक या  पालखीत सहभागी होतात. ही ज्ञानाची दिंडी पाहण्यास अतिशय नयनरम्य असते.  यंदाच्या वर्षी सोनी मराठी वाहिनीवर सुरू होणाऱ्या 'सावित्रीजोती' आभाळाएवढी माणसं होती या मालिकेतील समर्थ पाटील (छोटे जोतीराव) आणि तृषनिका शिंदे (छोट्या  सावित्रीबाई)  पात्रे साकारणाऱ्या बालकलाकारांनी या पालखीत सहभाग घेतला. दरम्यान मालिकेचे मुख्य कलाकार अश्विनी कासार (मोठ्या सावित्रीबाई) आणि ओम्का‌र गोवर्धन (मोठे जोतीराव) हे देखील या जयंती सोहळ्यात उपस्थित होते.

१८व्या शतकाच्या उत्तरार्धात जेव्हा स्त्रीला एक व्यक्ती म्हणूनदेखील समाजात मान नव्हता, तेव्हा जोतीराव फुले यांनी सावित्रीबाईंना शिकवले आणि इतरांना शिकवण्यायोग्य घडवले. पुरुषाच्या खांद्याला खांदा लावून एक स्त्री नोकरीसुद्धा करू शकते हे त्या काळातील रूढिवादी समाजाला दाखवून दिले आणि स्त्री-पुरुष समानतेचे एक उत्तम उदाहरण त्यांनी जगासमोर ठेवले. पण सावित्रीबाई आणि जोतीराव यांचे कार्य हे फक्त स्त्रीशिक्षणापुरते मर्यादित नव्हते. समाजात समानता नांदावी, स्पृश्य-अस्पृश्य हा भेद नाहीसा व्हावा यासाठीदेखील त्यांनी प्रयत्न केले. आपल्या वाड्यातील विहीर गावातील अस्पृश्यांसाठी खुली केली हा त्या प्रयत्नांपैकी एक प्रयत्न.त्या काळातल्या सनातनी आणि रूढिवादी समाजाने त्यांना नाना तऱ्हेने त्रास द्यायचा प्रयत्न केला, सावित्रीबाईंनी स्वतः शेणाचे गोळेदेखील अंगावर झेलले आहेत आणि वेळप्रसंगी समोरच्याला चांगली चपराकदेखील लगावली आहे. आपल्या पत्नीच्या पाठीशी खंबीर उभे असलेले आणि सर्व स्त्री जातीच्या उद्धारासाठी कळकळीने काम करणारे जोतीराव त्या शतकातील काही मोजक्या पुढारलेल्या विचारांच्या पुरुषांपैकी एक होते. जोतीरावांनी सावित्रीबाईंना प्रत्येक गोष्टीत प्रोत्साहन दिले व कधीच आपल्यापेक्षा कमी लेखले नाही. 'सावित्रीजोती' या नावातसुद्धा सावित्रीबाईंचा उल्लेख प्रथम येतो. जोत म्हणजे आधार, हाआधार जोतीरावांनी आणि सावित्रीबाईंनी एकमेकांना आजन्म दिला.अशा निःस्वार्थी जोडप्याच्या सहजीवनावर जर एखाद्या वाहिनीला मालिका करण्याचा मोह झाला, तर तो योग्यच आहे. या आदर्श जोडप्याच्या याच सहजीवनाचा, त्याच्या कर्तृत्वाचा आणि पुढारलेल्या विचारांचा इतिहास 'सावित्रीजोती' - आभाळाएवढी माणसं होती या मालिकेद्वारे प्रेक्षकांसमोर उलगडणार आहे.नायगाव येथे झालेल्या १८९व्या जयंती सोहळ्यादरम्यान 'सावित्रीजोती' मालिकेची पत्रकार परिषद घेण्यात आली. या परिषदेला अभ्यासक  प्रा. हरी नरके, सोनी मराठी वाहिनीचे बिझिनेस हेड अजय भाळवणकर आणि दशमी निर्मिती संस्थेचे संचालक नितीन वैद्य उपस्थित होते.

सावित्रीबाईंच्या जन्मतिथीच्या निमित्ताने सोनी मराठी वाहिनीचे बिझिनेस हेड अजय भाळवणकर ह्यांनी एसएनडीटी महाविद्यालयातील विद्यार्थीनींसाठी ‘ सोनी मराठी सावित्रीजोती शिष्यवृत्ती ' ह्या नावाने  शिष्यवृत्ती घोषित केली.

अन्यायाविरुद्ध  आवाज उठवण्याचे धाडस, उत्तरं शोधत राहण्याची सवय, एकमेकांवर निःसीम प्रेम आणि अपार विश्वास अशा अनेक पैलूंनी  या आदर्श जोडप्याचा जीवनप्रवास 'सावित्रीजोती' ह्या मालिकेतून आपल्याला  पाहायला मिळणार आहे. तर पाहायला विसरू नका सावित्रीजोती - आभाळाएवढी माणसं होती, ६ जानेवारीपासून  सोमवार ते शनिवार संध्याकाळी ७.३० वाजता फक्त सोनी मराठीवर .

We spoke to chahatt and here is what she has to say, " It was a great shoot. We had fun. The team behind the camera were thorough professionals and the results are for everyone to see .
