VIRTUAL TRAVEL MART 2021: YAS ISLAND READY TO WELCOME BACK INDIAN TOURISTS AS BORDERS REOPEN TO VISITORS


 

Yas Island Abu Dhabi, one of the world’s fastest-growing leisure and entertainment destinations, successfully concluded the second Virtual Travel Mart (VTM), which took place from 15-16 September 2021. Yas Island received an overwhelmingly positive response from travel agents especially since the announcement of Abu Dhabi welcoming back all fully vaccinated travelers for a quarantine-free holiday.

Yas Island enjoyed strong engagement with 100+ travel agents pan India, as the destination prepares for the future with the easing of travel restrictions in Abu Dhabi. This included 1,100+ registrations from agents, alongside productive virtual booths meetings, destination training sessions, and joint meetings with top trade partners. Agents learnt about the upcoming attractions, hotel openings, as well as world-leading health and safety measures on the Island.  Yas Island puts visitor’s safety first and in this year’s VTM, safety reassurance was well received by travel agents and visitors alike.

Exclusive Release - A stakeholders meeting was organized by the Tourism Ministry of Gujarat on 20th September 2021 at The Leela Hotel, Gandhinagar, Gujarat to seek the opinion and suggestions before finalizing the Cinematic Tourism Policy of the Gujarat Government. A stakeholders meeting was organized by the Tourism Ministry of Gujarat on 20th September 2021 at The Leela Hotel, Gandhinagar, Gujarat to seek the opinion and suggestions before finalizing the Cinematic Tourism Policy of the Gujarat Government. Mr. Jenu Dewan after welcoming the participants presented AV screening on the draft Cinematic Tourism Policy of Gujarat and sought suggestions from the stakeholders present. Mr. Hareet Shukla, Secretary of Tourism addressed the gathering and elaborated on the draft policy. A meaningful discussion took place with all the participants espousing the problems faced while shooting and gave suggestions to improve the policy. The participants were requested to send their suggestions for engagement before 30th September 2021. Mr. Jenu Dewan informed that they have studied in-depth all the State and International policies and have endeavored to incorporate the best features from it. He further said that as far as possible all the suggestions will be incorporated in the Draft Policy and circulated to all the stakeholders present before finalizing the draft Policy. The Policy will incorporate the subsidy and other financial benefits including tax concessions & incentives and a Single Window Clearance Policy for all the beautiful and historic locations.

A coffee table book on the locations in Gujarat was given to all the stakeholders present at the meeting. IFTPC promised to send a detailed suggestion before 30th September 2021.

New Delhi, August 31, 2021: Speaking at the Delhi Micro Experience of FinTech Festival India 2021-22, in her opening keynote address, Ms. Simmi Chaudhary, Economic Adviser & Group Coordinator, MeitY, said, “Fintech the industry has emerged as a key catalyst for financial inclusion with an immense potential to be a game-changing, disruptive, innovation capable of transforming the traditional financial sector. India should be home for small plug-and-play cybersecurity solutions for different sectors.”

Leading actor, philanthropist, investor and entrepreneur, Sonu Sood, said, “Fintechs are the leaders of tomorrow. In another couple of years, the whole country will be fintech-connected. I am already associated with a rural fintech called SpiceMoney which is driving financial inclusion in the interiors of our country and also open to exploring more opportunities in the fintech space.”

A white paper on RegTech, 5G & Crypto in India’ was also unveiled today in front of the august gathering. Published by Ernst & Young (EY), Knowledge Partner of FFI, the white paper deep-dives into Regulatory technology in India, 5G and its impact on the country and India’s cryptocurrency ecosystem.

Fintech Festival India will be conducted in physical and digital format through 10 Micro Experience Conferences in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Guwahati, Chennai, Mumbai, Gift City (Ahmedabad) and Pune. The festival will end with a 3-day mega event in New Delhi from March 9 - 11, 2022.

The next Micro Experience will be held in Chennai on 29th October 2021.

In addition to the government, FFI which aims to unleash the power of FinTech across the country has also drawn interest from industry including Indian insurance behemoth Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) and World Trade Centre Mumbai.
