Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a ‘Maharatna’ and a Fortune Global 500 Company, has orgaznied an exhibition on biofuels industry to showcase the technological advancement in the field and display initiatives. The exhibition, set up at Government Sports Complex, Balewadi, Pune was inaugruated on Monday by Shri P.S. Ravi, Executive Director (Retail), BPCL in presence of Commissioner of Sports, Govt. of Maharshtra Shri Omprakash Bakoria, IAS . The exhibition was organised on behalf of oil industry in Maharashtra to promote Biofuels as alternative petroleum product.
The senior officials of oil industry attended the inauguration event. Other sessions of the exhibition included program skit from local artists, performances by school children in essay and painting competition as well as interactions with engineering college students and farmers over usage of biofuels as an alternative petroleum product. The school children were also presented with prizes following competition.
The exhibition also displayed 1G Ethanol plant, Biodiesel Plant, 2G Ethanol Plant & CBG Plant. Praj Industries, Noble Exchange and Maharashtra Natural Gas had put up stalls to showcase various initiatives taken by them to promote biofuels. The Exhibition was attended by around 550 participants from oil industry, academicians, entrepreneurs, students, farmers and other relevant stakeholders from various parts of Maharashtra.
