Amitabh Bachchan and The House of Abhinandan Lodha are taking Ayodhya to the world

From investing in a landmark project to having his face light up the Delhi Sky - Amitabh Bachchan and The House of Abhinandan Lodha are taking Ayodhya to the world

June 3, 2024 – The year started off with an exciting development coming in that Amitabh Bachchan had snapped up a mega deal with The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL) to invest in 10,000 sq ft of land in Ayodhya, very close to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. A smart real-estate investor, Mr Bachchan realized the potential of the city and prior to the temple’s consecration ceremony, he invested a large sum of money to buy the plot in a 7-star land development – The Sarayu. He celebrated Ayodhya’s legacy and cultural richness by attending the inauguration of the grand Ram Mandir. But that’s not it! It seems that Ayodhya is now being taken to the global stage, and Amitabh Bachchan was a big part of this historic initiative by HoABL, that took over three major cities last night.

With a series of grand events at iconic locations in Dubai, New York, and Delhi NCR, people were presented the immense potential of Ayodhya – the symbol of national pride, inviting global participation in Ayodhya’s promising future. The events highlighted the importance of connecting the Indian diaspora with their heritage and cementing Ayodhya’s rise as the global spiritual capital, with Amitabh Bachchan being a face across these three grand events.

This global activation is in line with the Central and State Government’s plan to transform Ayodhya into a Global spiritual and cultural hub. These events included an immersive Augmented Reality display at the largest frame in the world, Dubai Frame, standing tall at 150 meters. Dubai Frame is one of Dubai’s most iconic structures and it signifies a bridge between the past and the present, so it was a fitting destination to honour Ayodhya’s tradition while heralding its future through an immersive augmented reality display that also showcased Amitabh Bachchan’s investment along with HoABL. In Times Square, New York City, a video display and on-ground activation brought Ayodhya's heritage to the heart of NYC, connecting a global audience to the splendor of Ayodhya along with Mr Bachchan’s pictures and videos.

But the most significant and eye-catching display was the spectacular drone-show that illuminated the skies of Delhi NCR, celebrating Ayodhya's historical and spiritual significance. It showcased progress innovation and tradition of the region, as well as brought alive iconic figures and places such as Lord Ram and his wonderful temple. Amitabh Bachchan’s face also lit up the night sky, much to the audience’s delight.

Speaking about his investment and how he looks forward to creating a home in a culturally-rich city like Ayodhya, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan mentioned, "I am looking forward to embark on this journey with The House of Abhinandan Lodha for The Sarayu in Ayodhya, a city that holds a special place in my heart. The timeless spirituality and cultural richness of Ayodhya have forged an emotional connection that transcends geographical boundaries. I am looking forward to building my home in the global spiritual capital.”

Talking about the global initiative, Mr. Abhinandan Lodha, Chairman of The House of Abhinandan Lodha, said, "It is our honor to be able to showcase the glory of Ayodhyaji on a world stage. By showcasing Ayodhyaji's heritage and spiritual significance at global landmarks we are connecting the Indian diaspora with their roots. This global launch is another opportunity for the Indian Diaspora to buy as a lot of them missed the previous opportunity in January 2024 as the 1.6 million sq ft of plotted land offered was snapped up by customers within 48 hours. We invite Indians worldwide to invest in land at Ayodhya, creating a legacy that honors our past and builds a promising future. Our mission is to elevate Ayodhya to its rightful place as a global spiritual capital, and today, we have taken a significant step in that direction."

This event was HoABL’s small contribution in the transformation and renaissance of Ayodhya. HoABL and Mr Bachchan are committed to creating a legacy, ensuring Ayodhya's place as a global spiritual capital is celebrated and preserved.

The 20 stunning jewellery pieces on display, each reflects the rich heritage and modern creativity of Indian artisans.

This year, the theme of the India Design Gallery has been divided into two captivating categories. The first, “Objet Trouvé” (Found Objects), celebrates art crafted from typically non-artistic objects—whether natural or man-made, including vintage poker chips, antique coins, collected shells, vintage Venetian glass beads, buttons, beachcombed treasures, and more. These elements serve as wells of creative inspiration for conceptualizing contemporary wearable art pieces. Among the pieces on display are a hairpin made of pinecones laced with gold and diamonds, earrings crafted with old currency notes, linear gold danglers encrusted with Adenanthera pavonine seeds and more.

The second theme, “Unusual Materials,” sparks a jewellery design dialogue between the familiar and the unexpected, combining contrasting materials such as bamboo, wood, and leather with at least 50% precious metals. Jewellery designers have stepped out of their comfort zone to create interesting pieces including a bracelet articulated in gold and areca palm leaves, cufflinks crafted from leather, moss agate, gold and a discreetly fitted SIM card, and earrings designed with pistachio shells adorned with shades of plique-à-jour.

India is one of the preferred gem and jewellery sourcing destinations for the USA. Renowned for its commitment to ethical business practices, the Indian gem and jewellery industry has been a beacon of transparency and sustainability. With a strong emphasis on responsible sourcing and manufacturing processes, Indian jewellers adhere to the highest standards of integrity and social responsibility. The industry is deeply committed to supporting fair trade practices, ensuring that the gems and jewellery are sourced from legitimate and conflict-free origins, while promoting the welfare and rights of the artisans and workers involved.
