Vidisha Srivastava’s special Karva Chauth celebration plans!

Vidisha Srivastava’s special Karva Chauth celebration plans!

Vidisha Srivastava, popularly known as Anita Bhabi from &TV's cult comedy

Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, is all set to celebrate Karva Chauth with great excitement.

Vidisha reveals that this festival has always been special even before she got

married to Sayak Paul. In this exclusive chat, she shares her plans for this year's

Karva Chauth and how she continues to make this day memorable.

Do you have any special plans for this Karva Chauth?

Karva Chauth has always been a cherished occasion for me, and this year, I have

decided to make it even more special by dressing up as a bride for my husband

(laughs). I love this festival for many reasons, one being the opportunity to wear a

beautiful saree and do the solah shringar (sixteen adornments). Every year, I

choose a different shade of red for the occasion and enjoy shopping for it. But

this time, I plan to re-wear the saree from my wedding day - it is a gorgeous red

chunari. I am excited to see my husband's reaction when he sees me dressed as a

bride again. Karva Chauth is that one day of the year when we get to deck up like

brides for our husbands and celebrate love.

Do you fast every year?

Yes, I fast every year. You might be surprised to know that my husband also fasts

with me! We started this tradition even before we got married. His love and

devotion make me feel incredibly lucky. Sometimes, he even says, ‘You don’t need

to fast, I’ll do it for you instead’. It is moments like these that make the day so

special for us.

Are you shooting for Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai on Karva Chauth?

Yes! I am excited because we are likely to shoot a Karva Chauth-themed episode

around that time. So, it will be double the celebration for me—both onscreen and

offscreen. I cannot wait!

Which Karva Chauth has been the most memorable for you?

Every Karva Chauth is memorable because we celebrate it as a family. I perform

the puja with my sister-in-law, and all the women in our society gather with their

Kalash to offer prayers. The anticipation to see the moon, and finally breaking the

fast by drinking water from my husband’s hands, is always special. But if I had to

pick one, it would be my first Karva Chauth. I secretly fasted for my then-

boyfriend and now-husband, without telling anyone. It turns out, he did the same

for me! Our families eventually figured out why we were not eating that day

(laughs), but it is a special memory I cherish deeply.

What is the most special gift you have received on Karva Chauth?

I am not a demanding wife at all. I always tell my husband not to bring me gifts,

but he surprises me with something special every year. Our relationship is unique,

and I feel a deep sense of happiness when I receive a gift - not because of the

material value but because of the love and thought he puts into it. It is the effort

behind the gift that makes it truly special.

Navi Mumbai, October 28, 2024: Apollo Hospitals Navi Mumbai (AHNM) has successfully led a comprehensive #TalkPink campaign to raise breast cancer awareness and emphasize the importance of early detection throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October. Through various initiatives, AHNM engaged more than 6,000 individuals through community and corporate programs, screening camps, webinars, health talks, patient support events, and a robust social media awareness drive.

AHNM undertook extensive outreach to the local community with free health talks and mammography screenings, benefitting over 500 people. We stand with our patients from the beginning of their journey, providing unwavering support and exceptional care. Our facilities offer comprehensive screening services, including specialized women’s health check-ups for early detection and timely intervention. Through our new Apollo Health Check on Wheels initiative, we are expanding our reach, allowing individuals to access health screening at their doorsteps. By partnering with corporations, we aim to make health check-ups accessible for employees, while also providing community members with opportunities for early detection. Additionally, our Women’s Cancer Clinic, staffed entirely by female specialists, creates a supportive environment for women seeking care.”

Get Diwali Ready: Actors Share Their Sustainable Fashion Secrets

This Diwali, instead of rushing into the usual frenzy of shopping for new clothes,

embrace something more meaningful - reusing and restyling outfits you already

own! With fast fashion constantly taking centre stage, it’s refreshing to see how

the power of creativity and a touch of sentiment can breathe new life into existing

wardrobes. Not only is this a sustainable choice, but it also allows us to rediscover

the beauty of cherished pieces, each carrying its special memories. &TV’s leading

ladies including Neha Joshi (Krishna Devi Vajpayee from Atal), Geetanjali Mishra

(Rajesh Singh from Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and Shubhangi Atre (Angoori Bhabi

from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai) share how creativity can transform clothes into

something truly spectacular for Diwali. Neha Joshi, who plays Krishna Devi

Vajpayee in Atal, says, “I love adding a delicate touch to my Diwali outfits. For

example, I have this maroon cotton saree that I wore last year, and this time I am

giving it a fresh twist by pairing it with a mustard blouse I found recently. It’s

incredible how something as simple as changing the blouse can transform the

entire look. And the fun doesn’t stop there. I’m mismatching my accessories too!

I’ll be wearing oxidized silver jewellery and mixing in colourful bangles for a

quirky, vibrant feel. Shopping is still part of my Diwali prep, but I’m focusing on

thoughtful, small additions like a handmade dupatta or unique earrings from local

artisans. This way, I keep the spirit of tradition alive while also having fun

experimenting with new styles.”

Geetanjali Mishra, who plays Rajesh in Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, shares her

excitement saying, “This year, I am stepping out of my comfort zone and

experimenting with mismatched clothes and accessories. I have a bright yellow

lehenga I adore, and instead of the usual coordinated choli, I am wearing it with a

deep magenta blouse. The bold colour combination adds an exciting festive vibe

that feels so right for Diwali. I am even mixing metals - pairing silver jhumkas with

gold bangles because who says things need to match perfectly? I have always

enjoyed shopping for stand-out pieces in local markets, and this year, I am on the

hunt for colourful, chunky jewellery that pops. Fashion is about self-expression,

and Diwali is the perfect time to highlight that!” Shubhangi Atre, the beloved

Angoori Bhabi from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai shares, “I love Diwali shopping, but this

year I’m blending tradition with a bit of a twist. I’m taking my vibrant orange

saree and pairing it with a contrasting green blouse, accessorizing it with pearl

jewellery instead of the usual gold. It’s a mix of old and new, blending items from

my wardrobe that hold sentimental value, like my mother’s royal blue Kanjeevaram

saree, with modern, bold accessories like statement earrings and colourful

bangles. To me, it’s not just about looking festive but also about creating new

memories with pieces that already mean so much."

Watch your favourite actors lighting up the screen in Atal at 8:00 pm, Happu Ki

Ultan Paltan at 10:00 pm, and Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai at 10:30 pm, every Monday

 Aurum24 – kitchen.café.bake-world Opens at Tellapur

~Promises great ambience, food and coffee~

Hyderabad: October 25, 2024In the newest part of the city of Hyderabad a cafe for coffee and good food is a must. Which is how Aurum24 Cafe was conceptualized. The idea of the cafe began with a conversation between friends AK Solanki, Jyotsna Sri, Venkatesh and Padmaja. Each of them brought with them their thoughts of accounting, interior design, and culinary art. The idea was to bring all these thoughts and experiences under one roof to create a cafe that sets a gold standard in the quality of ingredients in their dishes to the warmth of the atmosphere in Tellapur.

Aurum24 Cafe is an eatery for families that is spread in two levels. The ground floor has a restaurant and bake shop and the first floor comes with a banquet hall for private events and outdoor seating. The outdoor space on first floors gives a view of the city’s new landscape.

Aurum24 Cafe is more than just a cafe, it is a place built for memories with karaoke, a space for storytelling and what not. It is a cafe that promises to surprise diners with their foods and coffee, the founders plan to make it a cafe for experiences.

AK Solanki explained, “The name ‘Aurum24’ comes from the Latin word for gold. It is a symbol for the team’s commitment to excellence. But we’re more than just a place for coffee. We’ve built a space where families, professionals, and friends can come together, relax, and make memories. The vision behind Aurum24 is to redefine cafe culture and make every visit to Aurum24 Cafe a golden experience.”

Aurum24 Cafe’s space is designed to welcome everyone from families to professionals who can work from the cafe. It is also child friendly. Apart from the comfortable seating, ample plug points are equipped to help diners remain charged as they work.

What are the foods that one can expect at Aurum24 Cafe. Jyotsna Sri elaborated, “Apart from good coffees, Aurum24 will offer international but locally accepted dishes. This includes modern Indian, Asian food (Thai, Korean and Indochinese) and of course an array of confectioneries.

As Aurum24 Cafe gets ready to open, they aspire to usher in a new chapter in Tellapur's cafe scene, where every visit transforms into a golden memory. The cafe is located on Tellapur Road, near Urjith Villas, Hyderabad.
