BJP State President Ravindra Chavan, Mumbai President Ameet Satam, Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, MLAs Niranjan Davkhare, Sanjay Kute, and Sunil Rane were present. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and BJP State President Ravindra Chavan listed the major achievements of PM Narendra Modi's tenure.

CM Fadnavis stated that during his 12-year tenure, he has proven that comprehensive change can be achieved by awakening the nation's self-respect. He has worked to lift India out of the mindset of relying solely on grants and establish a respectable position on the global stage. Furthermore, he has played a significant role in advancing the "Make in India" campaign and moving the country towards "Make for the World." Prime Minister Modi has transformed India, previously seen as a beggar nation, into an emerging global power. PM Modi will complete 12 years of his tenure on May 26, 2026. This period of his visionary, transformative, and successful leadership has proven to be a boon for the country and all Indians.

CM Fadnavis further stated that the work done by PM Modi over the past 12 years is so extensive and significant that it is difficult to summarize it in a single book. He has made continuous efforts to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach every person in the country. Major public welfare initiatives were taken through schemes like "Toilet in Every Household" and "Ujjwala Gas Scheme." The government adopted a poverty-centric development agenda, not relying solely on handouts. This has resulted in the successful lifting of 250 million people out of poverty in the last 10 years.

India's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was ₹103 lakh crore in 2013-14, which increased to ₹357 lakh crore by 2025-26, a threefold increase. Maharashtra's GDP increased from ₹13 lakh crore in 2013-14 to ₹54 lakh crore in 2025-26. This progress has been witnessed by the entire world. This development under Prime Minister Modi's leadership is not the result of mere announcements, but the result of a planned and development-oriented strategy.

BJP State President Ravindra Chavan said that under the leadership of PM Modi, India is emerging as a strong nation, rapidly progressing towards becoming an economic powerhouse, empowered by digital technology, entrepreneurial, and centering women's empowerment. वेंगुर्ला नगरपरिषदेच्या शतकोत्तर सुवर्णमहोत्सवी (१५०व्या) वर्षानिमित्त सांस्कृतिक वैभवाला उजाळा देणारा भव्य ‘मराठी चित्रपट महोत्सव २०२६’ आयोजित करण्यात आला आहे. दिनांक २३ ते २६ मे २०२६ दरम्यान हा चार दिवसीय चित्रपट महोत्सव ‘नाटककार मधुसूदन कालेलकर बहुउद्देशीय सभागृह’, वेंगुर्ला येथे रंगणार असून मराठी चित्रपटसृष्टीतील गाजलेल्या आणि आशयघन आठ चित्रपटांचा आस्वाद रसिकांना घेता येणार आहे. वेंगुर्ल्यात प्रथमच आयोजित करण्यात येत असलेल्या या चित्रपट महोत्सवामुळे चित्रपटप्रेमींमध्ये मोठी उत्सुकता निर्माण झाली आहे. मराठी संस्कृती, नातेसंबंध, भावना आणि सामाजिक आशय यांचा सुंदर संगम असलेले विविध विषयांवरील चित्रपट या महोत्सवात प्रदर्शित होणार आहेत. महोत्सवाचे उद्घाटन लोकप्रिय मराठी चित्रपट ‘घरत गणपती’ याच्या विशेष प्रदर्शनाने होणार आहे. त्यासोबतच ‘बटरफ्लाय’, ‘बापल्योक’, ‘गुलकंद’, ‘एप्रिल मे ९९’, ‘फुलवंती, स्थळ आणि ‘द्विधा' यांसारखे दर्जेदार चित्रपट प्रेक्षकांना पाहायला मिळणार आहेत.

या महोत्सवातून वेंगुर्ल्याच्या मातीतील चित्रपट आणि साहित्य क्षेत्रातील दिग्गजांना मानाचा मुजरा करण्यात येणार आहे. ज्येष्ठ लेखक मधुसूदन कालेलकर, पद्मभूषण मंगेश पाडगावकर आणि कवी आरती प्रभू (चिं.त्र्यं.खानोलकर)  यांसारख्या महान नामवंतांनी या भूमीचे नाव जागतिक स्तरावर पोहोचवले.  त्यांच्या अजरामर साहित्य आणि गीतांच्या स्मरणाने हा महोत्सव अधिक  संस्मरणीय ठरणार आहे. 

मराठी चित्रपटांचा समृद्ध कलात्मक वारसा नव्या पिढीपर्यंत पोहोचवण्याच्या उद्देशाने हा महोत्सव आयोजित करण्यात आला असून, वेंगुर्ला शहराच्या सांस्कृतिक परंपरेत आणखी एक मानाचा तुरा रोवणारा हा उपक्रम ठरणार आहे.

वेंगुर्ला नगरपरिषदेला तब्बल १५० वर्षांचा गौरवशाली वारसा लाभला असून तिची स्थापना २५ मे १८७६ रोजी ब्रिटीश काळात झाली. व्यापारी बंदर आणि सांस्कृतिक केंद्र म्हणून ओळखल्या जाणाऱ्या वेंगुर्ल्याने शहर विकास, शिक्षण, आरोग्य आणि कला-संस्कृतीच्या जतनात महत्त्वपूर्ण योगदान दिले आहे. या १५० वर्षांच्या यशस्वी प्रवासाच्या स्मरणार्थ शतकोत्तर सुवर्णमहोत्सवी महोत्सवाचे आयोजन करण्यात आले आहे.
