BISLERI’S BOTTLES FOR CHANGE PARTNERS WITH THE 17TH EDITION OF TATA MUMBAI MARATHON

~ The Future of Your Used Bottles Lies in Your Hands ~

15^th January 2020, Mumbai: ‘Bottles for Change’ an initiative by Bisleri is all set to introduce the initiative to a larger audience by collaborating with the 17^th Edition of Asia's prestigious World Athletics Gold Label Road Race Tata Mumbai Marathon (TMM), scheduled to be held on 19^th January 2020.

The initiative that aims to educate the citizens about the importance of recycling plastic in our lives has joined hands with Tata Mumbai Marathon in order to get the participants involved in plastic recycling and contributing towards a cleaner environment. Bottles for Change will be placing 20-25 sets of 3 bins signifying the image of the recycled products across the race track. The participants can choose to throw the used plastic bottle in one of the bins – with each of the bins signifying the product made out of plastic recycling.

First Bin will be dedicated to making a Bag out of the used plastic bottles; Second Bin indicates that you are giving the used bottle to make a T-shirt & Third Bin specifies that you are giving the used bottle to make a Cap. The used bottles will be collected and directly sent for recycling with the help of partner recyclers. Later 1000 lucky runners will be gratified with recycled goodies.

Runners will be alerted on ‘the chance of giving their bottles a second life’ on the expo and on the race day through social media announcements and mailers by Bottles for Change. At the Expo which is from 15^th to 18^th January 2020 at MMRDA, BKC, Mumbai, recycled merchandise by Bottles for Change will be kept on display at the stalls.

‘Bottles for Change’ is aimed to educate the public about the importance of sending all kinds of plastic for recycling and not to treat it as waste which leads to a cleaner environment.   

Additionally, Bottles for Change has introduced a Mobile App for the citizens of Mumbai which aims to bring the citizens and the Plastic Collecting Agents (Kabadiwallahs/NGOs) under one roof. The app provides a hassle-free option to the citizens to search & approach a nearby plastic agent to handover the clean plastic.

About Subramanian Gopalsamy - It is believed that with loss that a new life begins. As young artists in the city, G. Subramanian was carving a niche for himself as a decorative painter when his only daughter was diagnosed with cancer. Her passing away shattered all possibilities and his life came to a standstill. He went on a spiritual journey in search of answers, yet his life seemed blurry. His reverie was broken when he won a gold medal in the art competition, which led him to take art classes for children. He visited the Sistine chapel in Italy, and while facing the Michelangelo’s masterpiece, he found his path and a whole new meaning to his life. 

Subramanian Gopalsamy said ‘I started working on images of god, goddesses, parrots, flowers like the lotus and the smiling face of my daughter always find a place in my art. These subjects come naturally to me. The mythological images like Buddha, Ganesha, Krishna and Saraswati come from my childhood memories growing up in coastal village listening to mythological stories narrated by the elders. My daughter loved birds and the parrot was her favourite, so all my paintings will depict one.  The inspiration and spark behind my art is the smile of my daughter. For me, the texture is very important and it helps me connect with the viewers. I want looking at my art to not only understand the emotion behind it but to also feel it" 

Born in 1952 in Tamil Nadu G. Subramanian’s work is inspired by the innocence and divine beauty in a child’s face and the power of Indian mythology. He graduated in fine arts from the government college of arts and craft in Chennai. His works are a part of Lalit Kala Academy in New Delhi. Southside Gallery, Edinburg, UK and The World Bank in Chennai. His multi-layered collages reinterpret the printed images and texts from popular magazines and abstract background highlighting the complex imagery.  He makes use of his experience as a graphic designer in the play with images

About Gnanadickam Ponnusamy- P. Gnana paints, sculpts and creates conceptual installations, as one of Singapore's leading artists. Indeed, he has obtained a highly-captivated audience in the Lion City and internationally, for the aesthetic and conceptual niche that he has created for himself within the ever-competitive dynamics and economics of urban art-making. This, he continues to achieve, by constantly counter-challenging or taming the forces that urge him to dispel his obsessive fascination towards the cow, a recurring symbol in his art since the last 9 years of his 25-year career as an artist. 

It is a fact that exemplary paintings by Gnana are also in the collections of the former President of the Republic of Singapore, of the Singapore Art Museum of the National Heritage Board and of the current Ambassador of India to the United Arab Emirates.

Gnana is a recipient of the LASALLE Scholarship of the LASALLE College of the Arts(Singapore), from where he received his formal training in the art of painting. He was granted the honour of being selected (in 2005) to undertake a project commissioned by Singapore's Ascendas to create fourteen large-scaled paintings within an abstract expressionistic motivation for the International Tech Park in Chennai (India). In 2013, one of Ghana's monumental larger-than-life sculptures under the Incarnation series (made from recycled/ found materials) was acquired by the National Parks Board(Singapore) to display at the Fort Canning Park Singapore.

Gnana is also an active member of the Sculpture Society (Singapore) and the Singapore Art Society. In addition, his painting has been successfully auctioned by the Masterpiece auction House. Gnana made his debut in New York in 2011 and he continues to present his work via prestigious exhibitions in Singapore like Art Stage and Dubai at the World Art Dubai, and Malaysia at the Art Expo Malaysia including selected.

Mitaali Nag launches her new song “Love Se Thodi Khaas"

Actor and Singer Mitaali Nag recently launched her first original song  ‘‘Love se thodi khaas’’. Mitaali reveals how friendships go through an emotional turmoil if one of them falls for the other, through this song she explains the beauty and power of friendship. The song has an instant connection and will be relatable to anyone who is discovering themselves in this phase of friendship and love.

Mitaali as an actor has worked in various daily soaps and led her career with grace. She began her acting career in 2011 and consistently wowed the audience with her amazing acting skills. Her fans will now discover her beautiful voice through her YouTube channel “Woman Of All Shades” which will have some interesting original and cover songs apart from vlogs.

The song “Love se  thodi khaas” is already winning hearts as it is now out on several video and audio platforms as well. The song is been carved with truly relatable lyrics by Late Mr. O.P.Singh, sung by Mitaali Nag, composed by Shashank Gokhale and beautifully directed by Giriraj Singh. The 10th Mumbai Edition of India Art Festival (IAF) at the Nehru Centre, Worli, continues to grow in scale, bringing cutting-edge contemporary art to the metros with over 45 art galleries and over 500 artists across countries taking part in the exhibition. With yet another successful year, the India Art Festival is presenting all forms of artistic expressions including paintings, sculptures, photography, ceramics, textiles, installations and offers an insight into current art trends from India and Asian countries. There are a total of 150 booths, spread on the ground and second floor, Discovery of India Art Building, Nehru Centre, Worli. The inaugural ceremony of the festival was a star-studded affair, that saw celebrities of the likes of Ravi Dubey, Nandish Singh Sandhu, Preeti Jhangiani, Dilip Joshi, Lalit Pandit, Sonalika Pradhan, Ivanka Das, and Abhinav Gautam among many others. मशहूर इंडिया आर्ट फेस्टिवल  के १०वें संस्करण का आयोजन  मुंबई में नेहरू सेंटर, वर्ली मे आयोजित किया गया। इस प्रदर्शनी में ४५ से अधिक आर्ट गॅलरी का समावेश था और देशभर से ५०० से अधिक कलाकारों ने इस प्रदर्शनी में अपनी कला का प्रदर्शन किया।

इस वर्ष इंडिया आर्ट फेस्टिवल में चित्रकला, मूर्तिकला, फोटोग्राफी, चीनी मिट्टी की चीज़ें, वस्त्र सहित अन्य सभी प्रकार की कलाकृतियों का  समावेश था।  इस समारोह के उद्घाटन के अवसर पर अभिनेता रवि दुबे, नंदिश सिंह संधू, प्रीति झंगियानी, दिलीप जोशी, ललित पंडित, सोनालिका प्रधान, ईवांका दास, अभिनव गौतम और हर्ष गोयनका जैसी प्रमुख हस्तियों ने अपनी उपस्थिति दर्ज कराई। इंडिया आर्ट फेस्टिवल के संस्थापक और एमडी राजेंद्र ने सभी उपस्थित हस्तियों का मेजबान के रूप में स्वागत किया।

Angela Krislinzki’s classical training helped her belly dance with gusto!

When you are trained in traditional dance forms, you can easily master the Western moves. More so when your love for dancing transcends all.

Actor Angela Krislinzki is a trained classical and jazz dancer, and it is this learning that helped her master the belly dance art form for a music video.
Reveals Angela, “I love dancing. It is my calming force. When I dance, I forget everything. It is just me and my art as one.”

It is this bonding that enabled Angela to give the nod for belly dancing in a video. “I watched YouTube and learnt the nuances. There are innumerable videos by experts who actually teach you to learn and better yourself in each dance form. For me, YouTube was my Guru and I learnt to belly dance from there only. You can say I am Eklavya and YouTube is my Dronacharya.” Grins Angela.

अभिनेत्री एंजेला क्रिस्लिंज्की एक प्रशिक्षित शास्त्रीय और जैज़ नर्तकी हैं, और इस प्रशिक्षण ने उन्हें एक संगीत वीडियो के लिए बेली डान्स शैली को पेश करने में सहज बनाया। एंजेला कहती है  "मुझे नृत्य करना पसंद है। यही मेरी ताकत है । जब मैं नृत्य करती  हूं, तो मैं सब कुछ भूल जाती हूं। बस मैं और मेरी कला ही होते है। "

नृत्य के प्रति उसका  प्यार और इस रिश्ते की वजह से ही एंजेला ने म्यूजिक वीडियो में बेली डांस करने के लिये हामी भरी। “मैंने युट्युब पर कुछ वीडियो देखे और उन्हें करने का तरीका सीखा। इन में विशेषज्ञों द्वारा अपलोड किए गए कई वीडियो हैं, जो आपके लिए सीखना और प्रत्येक नृत्य रूप में कुशल बनने में मददगार साबीत होते हैं। मेरे लिए, YouTube मेरे गुरु थे और यहीं से मैंने बेली डान्स शैली करना सीखा। आप कह सकते हैं कि मैं एकलव्य हूं और YouTube मेरा गुरु द्रोणाचार्य है। ", एंजेला ने  मुस्कुराते हुए कहा।
