Porsche presents the first model derivative of its iconic creation Continuing a decades-long tradition: The new 911 Cabriolet Dubai. Six weeks after the Coupe’s launch, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG introduces the new 911 Cabriolet. The open-top 911 continues a long tradition, established when Porsche unveiled the prototype of the first 911 Cabriolet in September 1981 at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt. A year later, the first 911 convertible rolled off the production line. Initially available as the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet*, the latest soft-top version of the brand’s iconic sports car includes all the innovative features of the Coupe, along with convertible-specific elements, such as new hydraulics responsible for opening and closing the roof quicker than ever before. The open-top version of the iconic sports car echoes the modern lines of the Coupe, though it remains unmistakably a Porsche 911 in Cabriolet form. The fully automatic soft top has an integrated glass rear window. Its structure contains magnesium surface elements known as bows, which reliably prevent ballooning of the roof at high speeds. The roof can be opened or closed at speeds up to 50 km/h. New hydraulics reduce the opening time to around twelve seconds, while an electrically extendable wind deflector ensures that necks are shielded from wind impact. The new 911 Carrera S Cabriolet with rear-wheel drive relies on a 2,981 cm³ charged six-cylinder boxer engine with 450 hp (331 kW) at 6,500 rpm and 530 Nm torque between 2,300 and 5,000 rpm. Thanks to an improved injection process, drive efficiency has been increased whilst emissions were reduced. Other optimisation measures include a new layout for the turbochargers and charge air cooling system. The power is delivered by a newly developed eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. The 911 Carrera S Cabriolet accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds (with optional Sport Chrono Package: 3.7 seconds) and can reach speeds up to 306 km/h. The new engine mounting position makes the convertible more torsionally rigid than its predecessor. For the first time, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) sport chassis is available for the 911 Cabriolet. It features harder and shorter springs, more rigid front and rear anti-roll-bars as well as a 10-millimetres lower chassis. These adjustments give the 911 convertible a more neutral feel on the road, with better weight distribution. Exterior design that draws on earlier generations of the 911 The new 911 Cabriolet looks wider, more self-assured and altogether more muscular than its predecessor. Wider wings arch over the large 20-inch wheels at the front and 21-inch wheels at the rear. The rear-wheel-drive models now match the bodywork width of the existing all-wheel models. The rear axle has grown by 44 millimetres, whilst the 45-millimetres wider front end revives a traditional feature from earlier 911 generations: a forward-extended bonnet with a distinctive recess in front of the windscreen. Both elements lengthen the front of the vehicle and give it a dynamic look. The rear is dominated by the significantly wider, retractable spoiler and the continuous, seamless light bar. With the exception of the front and rear sections, the entire outer skin is now made from aluminium. Redesigned interior with clear lines The interior is distinctive, with clear, straight lines and recessed instruments defining the dashboard. As it does in the original 911, the new dashboard covers the entire width between two horizontal wing levels. Alongside the centrally positioned rev counter, two thin, frameless freeform displays deliver information to the driver. Now 10.9 inches in size, the centre screen of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) can be operated quickly without causing distraction. Sophisticated assistance systems enhance safety and comfort As a world first, Porsche has developed the Wet Mode, which is included as standard. This function detects water on the road, preconditions the control systems accordingly and warns the driver, who can then opt to set up the car with a focus on safety, by simply pushing a button or using the mode switch on the steering wheel (Sport Chrono Package). The camera-based warning and brake assist system, also fitted as standard, detects the risk of collision with vehicles, pedestrians, or cyclists, and initiates a warning or emergency braking procedure if necessary. A Park Assistant system, including reversing camera, completes the standard configuration of the convertible. Options for the 911 include Night Vision Assist, with thermal imaging camera, as well as adaptive cruise control with automatic distance control, stop-and-go function and reversible occupant protection. Zee TV’s next early primetime offering – ‘Rajaa Betaa’ introduces viewers to an ideal young man, Vedant – a highly qualified gynaecologist, adopted in his early childhood into the Tripathi family by Gangadutt Tripathi who encourages his good-for-nothing son Ramesh, to raise Vedant as his own son. Brought up by a deeply discouraging, disinterested father but with the love of his foster dada-dadi, Vedant flowers into a fine young man, accomplishing everything Ramesh couldn’t. Constantly finding ways and means of giving back to a family that never truly considered him their own and largely turned to him for their own vested interests, Vedant embodies the kind of idealism that often attracts jealousy, insecurity, resentment and exploitation at the hands of one’s own people. Will love change Vedant’s destiny and bring him someone that truly adores him unconditionally? Only time will tell. However, my association with the ZEE network goes back to the time I started making Tujhyaat Jeev Rangla for Zee Marathi. Rajaa Betaa explores the journey of an orphan who is adopted into a family much against the wishes of his own foster father and as a result, grows up in a negative environment with family members who do not truly consider him their own. But holding on to the strings of affection that came his way from his foster grandparents, he stays positive and emerges to be a man of character, constantly giving back to a family he feels forever indebted to for lending him their surname. We are shooting the show in Jaipur and have a fine cast on board who’ve beautifully sunk their teeth into their roles and are playing their parts to perfection. I feel honored to be associated with Zee TV and we hope to take our association with the channel to the next level through this new offering.”

Essaying the role of a young highly qualified gynaecologist, Vedant Tripathi is handsome actor Rrahul Sudhir who will be making his television debut with the show. He will be joined by gorgeous debutant Sambhabna Mohanty essaying the role of Poorva Mishra, a young, independent and a feminist at heart who is governed by her principles and beliefs while actor Fenil Umrigar will be seen playing the role of Poorva’s sister Pankhuri in the show.

Being orphaned at birth, he wasn’t fortunate enough to have the relationships the rest of us inherit at birth. He has always worked towards gaining love and acceptance from his family, who never considered him their own. Moreover, the storyline and the narrative of the show is gripping, intriguing and touches your heart. This is my first break on television and I'm giving my best to deliver a performance that audiences will love.”

Actor Sambhabna Mohanty said, “I always wanted to explore myself as an actor through the medium of television and I am excited to be a part of a show like Rajaa Betaa. I essay the character of Poorva, an independent and strong-willed woman who abides by her principles and loves her family.  What drew me to the show was its concept and off-beat storyline that breaks the myths surrounding the role of men in our system. This is the first time that I am venturing into television and I am looking forward to this wonderful new journey I am set to uncover.”

Actor Fenil Umrigar said, “I play the character of Pankhuri. She is an adorable girl and is extremely attached to her sister and grandmother. She is very supportive of her sister and always looks up to her. I am not only excited about the show, but also about the fact that I’m working with Zee TV again. My last stint on the channel was Kaala Teeka and I received a lot of appreciation from the character of Gauri I portrayed in the show. I am hoping that even Rajaa Betaa will get me similar response and love from the audiences.”

पुन्हा एकदा विश्रांतीनंतर, कविता लाड

कविता लाड मेढेकर हे रसिकांच्या मनावर कायम अधिराज्य गाजवलेली अभिनेत्री. महाराष्ट्राचं लाडकं व्यक्तिमत्त्व. कविता लाड मेढेकर म्हणाल्यावर त्यांचं प्रत्येकजण कौतुकच करतो इतकं प्रेम  आजवरील आपल्या कामांतून, व्यक्तिमत्वातून त्यांनी मिळवलंय. वैवाहिक संसाराच्या काही वचनबद्धतेमुळे त्यांनी सिनेमापासून, नाटकांपासून काही काळ विश्रांती घेतली होती. ही त्यांच्यासाठी एक पोषक विश्रांती ठरली आणि आता त्या पुन्हा अभिनय क्षेत्रात कार्यरत झाल्या आहेत. एकीकडे त्या रंगभूमीवर काम करत असताना त्यांचा “लव यु जिंदगी” हा बहुचर्चित चित्रपट प्रदर्शित होतोय. 

या सिनेमबद्दल कविता लाड मेढेकर फार उत्साहाने बोलतात. दिग्दर्शक मनोज सावंत यांनी चित्रपटाची कथा त्यांना ऐकवल्यावर त्यांना कथा फार आवडली आणि कविताने चित्रपट करण्यास होकार दिला. याशिवाय सचिन पिळगावकरांसोबत त्यांना काम करण्याची फार इच्छा होती ते सुद्धा एक महत्त्वाचं कारण या  चित्रपटात काम करण्यामागे आहे असं त्या म्हणाल्यात.

लव यु जिंदगी चित्रपटात त्यांचं नलू नावाचं पात्र आहे. चित्रपटात त्या सचिन पिळगावकर यांच्या बायकोची भूमिका करताय. चित्रपट हा कौटुंबिक मनोरंजक असून यांत नलू या त्यांच्या पात्राचे दोन्ही भावनिक पैलू दर्शवले आहेत. नवऱ्यावर कायम विश्वास ठेवणारी, त्याला पाठिंबा देणारी, नावऱ्यांस हवं ते करायला मुभा देणारी, नवऱ्याच्या तरुण राहण्याच्या प्रयत्नांचं कौतूक आणि कुतूहल वाटणारी साधी पण कणखर नलू त्यांनी चित्रपटात साकारली आहे. 

वैयक्तिक वैवाहिक आयुष्यात देखील कविता नात्यात एकमेकांना पोषक ‘स्पेस’ देण्यास महत्व देते. चित्रपटातील नलू आणि त्यांच्यात हे साम्य आहे असं त्या म्हणतात. 

नवऱ्यावर विश्वास टाकणारी नलू आणि विश्वासाचा भंग झाल्यावरची नलू दोन्ही साकारताना त्यांना मजा आली असं कविता म्हणाल्यात. 

हा चित्रपट का बघावा हे विचारल्यावर त्या म्हणाल्या की निखळ कौटुंबिक मनोरंजन करणारा हा सिनेमा आहे. आजच्या धकाधकीच्या काळात निखळ मनोरंजन कमी होत चाललंय, ज्याची व्यक्तीला फार गरज आहे, ती गरज पूर्ण करणारा हा सिनेमा आहे. 

चित्रपटात काम करताना रंगभूमीच्या कामाचादेखील खूप फायदा होतो त्या म्हणतात. चित्रापटातदेखील त्यांचा वावर, त्यांनी साकारलेलं नलूचं पात्र बघताना कविता लाड मेढेकर यांचं अभिनयावरील संपूर्ण नियंत्रण आणि रंगभूमीवर वावरण्याचा त्यांचा अभ्यास स्पष्टपणे जाणवतो. रसिकांच्या मनात कायमस्वरूपी जागा मिळवलेली  एक अप्रतिम अभिनेत्री आणि अत्यंत गोड, लाघवी, व्यक्तिमत्त्व असलेल्या कविता लाड मेढेकर यांचा “लव यु जिंदगी”  सिनेमा संपूर्ण महाराष्ट्रात ११ जानेवारीला प्रदर्शित होतोय.
