Amit Khanna, the genius behind THE ILLUSION- 2021 (Hi Fashion Men's Calendar to portray men as most glamorous, stylish, and fashionable), is the sole holder of the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke excellence award in the field of fashion photography.
Mumbai-based filmmaker and an avid fashion photographer, AMIT KHANNA displays his passion and dedication for photography and direction through his work.
In fact he happens to be one of those very few Indian filmmakers who have contributed to global cinema.
As a young photographer and filmmaker who is full of ideas, Amit Khanna aims to venture into unexplored realms of photography and film making by experimenting with new themes and subjects.
In 2018, Amit directed, acted and wrote, India’s first-ever LGBTQ community-based series titled “All about section 377” and “Still about section 377” which not only celebrated his work as a filmmaker, he also gloried India and its talent on international soil. All about section film cut won the best foreign-language film at the Berlin International Filmmakers Awards in 2017.
Amit made his debut as a writer with Channel V’s first-ever fiction show “Roomies” in 2009, he made his debut as a director with a film titled “Tutiya Dil” in 2012 followed by “Badmashiyaan- Fun never ends” in 2015.
Amit struck gold with his short film “An untold story of paper boats” which featured in the 69th Canner Film Festival as well as won the best short film in a foreign language at the Nice Film festival 2016.
He also directed the first-ever Telegu- English cross over film “Friends-in-laws” which was showcased in the 71st Cannes Film Festival.
“There is this one quote by Annie Leibovitz that changed my life - A thing that you see in my pictures is that I was not afraid to fall in love with these people. I resonate with this quote, only if I could put it in the words” says Amit Khanna.
His unique style of working and love for work makes him one of the most eminent photographers and director in today’s time.
