This upscale neighbourhood of Powai which once housed the legendary Indigo Deli, has only a prominent successor to look forward to! The team which is a part of some of the city’s favourite restaurants like Donna Deli, Blah, Kyma & London Taxi have put together a perfect space for the young creative professionals, outgoing residents and the large corporate culture that surrounds Powai. From the house of Monarch Liberty Hospitality & its founders Sumit Govind Sharma, Pawan Shahri, Nikita Harisinghani & Dhaval Udeshi, Eve aims to offer a cuisine agnostic yet ingredient focussed menu paired with technique forward cocktails.

About The Interiors:

As you take your first step in the modern-day premium casual dining space, you’re welcomed by a vintage doorway, a 30ft high library wall that houses over 4000 books with a spiral staircase in the centre that takes you to the first floor. A 7000 sqft space with an island bar, wooden flooring, cane-weaved seating, regal chandeliers, fabric lamps and pretty corners that take your breath away. Decorated elegantly with splashes of bright colour, the airy space features the natural landscapes and diversity with a combination of wood, plants, ceramics and cane. The place gives you a sense of comfort, and a feeling of home that makes you stay - aiming to offer a more accessible, friendlier space for people to socialise at Eve’s beautiful interiors have been designed by the Mumbai-based firm, KNS Architects alongside our founder Nikita Harisinghani. KNS Architects is known for their distinguished projects such as the Soho House Mumbai, Kardmum Junction Banaras in Milan Italy, Mahek in Hyatt Dubai and have also designed many celebrity homes

About The Food:

With a cuisine-agnostic approach, at the helm of all kitchen affairs is the talented chef Sanket More, with his previous stints at The Bombay Canteen & O-Pedro. Having entered the kitchen from a young age to satisfy his own cravings he’s come a long way to concocting the perfect dishes to satisfy the palates of the oncoming visitors. Like a true master and lover of his craft, he believes in constantly reinventing, observing the people around him, and taking up new and improved cooking techniques to always keep the creativity flowing in his dishes and deliver the best on the plate.

The visionaries behind Eve believe in providing a rich experience but in a sustainable manner. The produce & ingredient forward menu is a reflection of the same, from the beautifully crafted salads to the sous vide cooking methodology and a zero-waste policy to support the local communities, the innovative menu is designed to promote seafood diversity, sustainable fisheries, and healthy oceans, whilst sourcing only the highest quality ingredients to create vibrant and exciting culinary delights. Coming from the chef’s list of personal favourites and in-house specials is Brick pressed Chicken with Fresco Pepper Sauce with Herbed Potato Mash and Garlic Juice, and Pink Peppercorn-Infused Chicken Tikka.

But if your heart is still not content then the Mock Meat Kheema Pao, Britain-Inspired Citrus Fish and Chips, the Trio of Hummus, Wild Mushroom Risotto, and Eve Garlic Prawns are our absolute favourites.

Talking about keeping things creative in the kitchen, chef Sanket More comments, “Experimenting and balancing the flavours is a key for a great dish. Every country and region has a huge variety of predominant ingredients and a restaurant is a place where your staff is usually a mix of eclectic people covering a different part of the country and working at different places, so getting inspired while taking the briefings and  brainstorming on a variety of ingredients and mixing things is a fun a way to keep your creative juices flowing.”

 

 

About The Cocktails:

Coming to the drinks menu, the in-house mixologist Sachin Yadav, with his previous stint at Jolies & Silly Souls Cafe, has something magical up his sleeves that is transferred to every drink he makes, handcrafted with absolute precision and care to give the visitors a sweet taste of heaven in every sip. Some of his personal recommendations are - Spice Trade which is inspired by Indian spices and has gin infused with pink peppercorn, Kashmiri Kawa Tea Fresh made with green apple, clarified milk, and rose dust glitter. But if you want to go old-school and give the good ol’ signature cocktails a try then Eves Mule made with vodka, cucumber, basil, elderflower, and ginger ale will help you make some new (drunken) memories or the Essence of Life made with gin infused with lemongrass, in-house kaffir lime liqueur, and tonic is sure to work wonders!

 TIH Singapore tie up to launch PE fund to invest in mid-size Indian cos.

              

Fund with overall target of around ₹ 5 bn will follow a sector agnostic approach with positive bias towards Specialty Chemicals, FMCG, Electronics, Food & Agriculture and Healthcare/Pharma National, 10 th October 2022: Inga Ventures (Inga), in partnership with TIH Limited (TIH), Singapore, is launching a ₹ 1,250 mn private equity fund “Ekkum TIH Emerging Opportunities Fund” for investing in mid-size enterprises in India. The Fund has received commitment of ₹ 250 mn from the sponsors and their affiliates.

The Fund will infuse growth capital in mid-size emerging companies operating in niche segment with strong track record. The Fund will aim to target companies with a clear expansion and value creation plan. The initial size of the fund is targeted at ₹ 1,250 mn and the overall target is ₹ 5 bn. The Fund will follow a sector agnostic approach with positive bias towards Specialty Chemicals,

FMCG, Electronics, Food & Agriculture and Healthcare/Pharma. Commenting on the launch, G. S. Ganesh, founder of INGA, expressed confidence in establishing a strong and sound platform for nurturing success stories. More than 1200 cancer survivors came together to showcase their spirit of life.

An extraordinary amount of grit, determination and strength is required especially when it comes to fighting cancer or the big C. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to honour the pink courage, Dr Anil Director of Oncohope ACC, Head of Surgical Oncology at Fortis Hospital and secretary of Gopal Krishna Charitable Trust along with his team had organized an event to honour breast cancer survivors by sharing their stories of standing still, along with drawing attention to early detection, and treatment

The event kicked off with a lamp-lighting ceremony and was followed by several activities, including drama, dance, skits, and other activities, which drew an energetic response from more than 1200 survivors present at the event. Prominent guests who were present for the event were Shri. Manoj Kotak, Member of Parliament, Shri. Mihir Kotecha, MLA, Dr Anagha Heroor, Chairperson of GKCT, Dr Anil Heroor, Secretary of GKCT along with the cancer survivors.

Hailing from different strata, they all gathered to share their stories of overcoming the disease and sharing their victorious tales. Inspiring others, a group of 150 women cancer survivors gave a mesmerizing dance performance, as they highlighted the need and importance to provide support and care to cancer patients along with their family members who stand supportive in the fight against this deadly disease.

Speaking at the occasion Dr.Anil Heroor, Secretary of GKCT and Head of Surgical Oncology at Fortis Hospital Mumbai said, “Many times when patients or their family members get diagnosed with cancer, it breaks their confidence and it becomes a very  challenging task to keep their hopes high. Today, there are advanced treatments available and now patients can fight cancers and live long lives. This program is the classic example of showing the spirit of cancer survivors who have fought successfully.”

Dr. Heroor also announced that they have  the 2nd edition of their previous book named - Phoenixche Manogat (फिनिक्सचे मनोगत) releasing soon which will be a collection of inspiring stories of cancer survivors and how they stood up to it!

Speaking at the event, Mr Manoj Kotak said, “Awareness, prevention and early diagnosis are the key factors in treating or overcoming breast cancer. The initiative taken by GKCT to conduct such an event and encourage more women to get their breast screening done and educate them on breast cancer risk reduction is truly commendable. This event is their celebration of winning back life!”

“In an effort to help underprivileged women get access to mammography screenings, GKCT has a dedicated mammography van that travels across rural regions and provides screenings for more than 15000 rural women, 5000+ of whom have received mammography tests. The NGO is constantly dedicated to raising awareness for patients to get access to cancer care treatments for society in line with the vision of Mr Gopalkrishna Heroor (Founder of this trust) who was a very philanthropic person.” Dr Anil reveals.

It took 32 years for this dream to come true, says actor Murli Sharma on winning 67th Filmfare Award

Actor Murli Sharma received the 67th Filmfare Award (South) for Best Supporting Role in Telugu Blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. The film was directed by Trivikram Srinivas and stars Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde. In the film, Murli played the role of the father of Allu Arjun and he garnered a lot of love and appreciation for his role. 

The actor expressed his gratitude and said, “It took 32 years for this dream to come true. I still wonder how I managed to come so far and how I had this kind of stubbornness, intransigence and indefatigibilty. I am extremely humbled, honored, and grateful to Filmfare, my Director Trivikram Srinivas, and my hero Allu Arjun and my producers. I had a great time playing the character of ‘Valmiki’ and it wouldn’t have been possible without Trivikram Sir."

The actor was last seen in Pan-India Blockbuster God Father headlined by Superstar Chiranjeevi. In the film Murli Sharma plays the role of a scheming politician who believes he’s the next candidate for the chair of Chief Minister. Speaking about his experience working with Chiranjeevi, he expressed, “It was another dream come true to work with Megastar Chiranjeevi Sir. I am very ecstatic enraptured and happy about the film doing so well.”
