TV actors unlock their tiffin box!

TV actors unlock their tiffin box!

Eating healthy and nutritious food can provide a valuable boost to your wellbeing and success. Here's a look inside the dabbas of your favourite &TV artists including Aayudh Bhansuhali (Krishna, Doosri Maa), Himani Shivpuri (Katori Amma, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and Aasif Sheikh (Vibhuti Narayan Mishra, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai)Aayudh Bhanushali, essaying Krishna in &TV’s show Doosri Maa, shares, “I am a true foodie (laughs). My mother ensures that whatever I eat is healthy. For my show, Doosri Maa, I am staying in Jaipur with my mother, where accommodation and food are provided by the production. Lunchtime is something I look forward to because we all sit together in the cafeteria. These meals typically consist of dal, rice, sabzi, and roti with salad. But this doesn't mean I don't carry a tiffin on set. I carry multiple dabbas filled with homemade snacks, fruits, protein bars, and more. I also love eating kurmuras and khakras during my evening breaks. And let me tell you, these are specially made by my grandmother and sent to me from Mumbai every time someone travels from there. So unlock my tiffin and you would find my dabba loaded with a variety of homemade snacks and fruits. Also, since it's summer in Jaipur, my mother carries nimbu paani and chaas in bottles to keep me hydrated.”

Himani Shivpuri, aka Katori Amma from Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, shares, Lunchtime on our sets is special because we sit together and converse while eating. I am a ‘Dabba’ person who never forgets to bring a lunch box whenever shooting. I carry a juice bottle and some dry fruits packed. I like to munch on as and when I feel hungry between the scenes. For lunch, I carry homemade food consisting of a small portion of rice because it is an excellent source of carbs. To add nutritious value to my diet, I consume boiled dal with lots of veggies, one seasonal sabzi without potatoes, and two fruits. My lunch box is both nutritious and delicious.” Aasif Sheikh, aka Vibhuti Narayan Mishra from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, shares, Everyone knows I am extremely health-conscious and follow my fitness regime religiously. I avoid eating outside food and bring my carry homemade lunch and snacks. A simple Ghar ka Khana with less oil and no sugar is what you can find in my tiffin box. What I love the most is sharing my dabba with my colleagues on sets, and we love to eat together. The most significant thing in my diet is a vegetable or fruit salad. I love eating non-vegetarian food, so chicken, mutton, fish curry with some dal or a sabzi with some phulkas are part of my lunch box. Post-lunch, I eat seasonal fruits. I try to balance my meals with equal amounts of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Everyone on set loves biryani and kebabs from my house, so there are days I carry dabbas full of these delicacies."

Tune in to Doosri Maa at 8:00 pm, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan at 10:00 pm, and Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai at 10:30 pm, airing every Monday to Friday only on &TV!

Investments in Local Risk Resilience: UNICEF and G20 Disaster Risk Resilience (DRR) Working Group call for new Social Protection Systems

Investments in Local Risk Resilience: UNICEF and G20 Disaster Risk Resilience (DRR) Working Group call for new Social Protection Systems

The G20 Disaster Risk Resilience Working Group and UNICEF convened with delegates from the G20 countries, International Finance Institutions (IFI), United Nations agencies, civil society, private sector and community members to discuss ‘Strengthening Social Protection Systems for Climate and Disaster Risk Management’, in Mumbai.

The session, held on the side-lines of the 2nd Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group of G20 countries, deliberated on building a shared understanding among all stakeholders of making social protection system, an effective and preferred instrument for disaster risk financing. The discussions emphasized the need for new-age Social Protection Systems that invest in local risk resilience to mitigate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.

Krishna Vatsa, Member NDMA, said, “Social Protection is not only about poverty alleviation but also empowerment of people to thrive despite disasters. Going forward, we must pursue financial inclusion, focus on building back assets and livelihood, restore the social networks which generate trust and most importantly encourage women-led participation and development.”

Cynthia McCaffrey, UNICEF India Representative, said, “This G20 forum highlighting shock responsive social protection in disaster risk reduction is important and timely, at the mid-point of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Such systems protect the most vulnerable. Children and women in shock prone settings are most at risk of being left behind because of increasing frequency, magnitude and overlaying of shocks, especially those resulting from climate change. Protecting and empowering them is most effective through comprehensive ‘systems’ that are risk informed, flexible, and enable local governments to support the poor and most vulnerable during difficult times. We look forward to the South-South collaboration to accelerate learning and evidence-based actions in disaster prone countries to strengthen shock responsiveness of social protection systems, to reach the most vulnerable, especially children, youth and women.”

Social protection system consists of mechanisms to provide assistance for employment and livelihoods security, social housing, cash transfers, micro-insurance, financial inclusion, food security, various kinds of social services, and special assistance for vulnerable groups.

National governments, international and local institutions have a critical role to mobilize financial, technical and human capital to strengthen disaster risk management systems and other development systems to deliver resources where they are needed the most to build risk-resilience.

Social protection has emerged as an important policy instrument to utilise Disaster Risk Finances particularly for the most vulnerable groups and improve their uninterrupted access to intermediate technologies and innovative financing mechanisms for safe housing, clean drinking water, sanitation, power supply and other social sector services and facilities.

Speakers highlighted the need for strong collaboration between Disaster Risk Management and Social Protection Systems, especially at the local level, with the active support of civil society, the private sector and community-based structures.

While the civil society can actively facilitate the link between the demand and supply of support and services, the private sector can contribute to building resilient business ecosystems and enhance the effectiveness of social protection systems.

The speakers also urged governments to support community-based structures – through necessary capacity, information, and resources – to empower them to serve as first front-line responders during disasters.

A compendium of case studies entitled ‘Shock Responsive Social Protection’ highlighting good practices and lessons from G20 member countries including Indonesia, India, Brazil and South Africa, was released on this occasion. Knowledge Partners of the Compendium include UNICEF, WFP, IIED, FCDO, CARE India, Sphere India, CARITAS, GIZ, and KfW.

Partners were called to collaborate on the development of a global knowledge exchange platform on Shock Responsive Social Protection for Climate and Disaster Risk Management.

Shahid Kapoor-starrer Bloody Daddy is all set for its Direct-to-OTT                                                 Premiere on 9th June, to stream free on JioCinema

The trailer of the film was unveiled at a grand launch in Mumbai on Wednesday, 24th May in the presence of Shahid Kapoor and director Ali Abbas Zafar

Offering best-in-class cinematic experience right in the comfort of your home, the highly anticipated film Bloody Daddy is set to premiere exclusively on JioCinema, on 9th June, for free. The stylized relentless action-packed ride marks as JioCinema’s first direct-to-OTT film, making it one of Bollywood’s biggest films to embrace a digital release. The platform unveiled the action-packed trailer of the Ali Abbas Zafar directorial at a grand event in Mumbai, in the presence of Shahid Kapoor and the director ahead of its release.

Produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Sunir Kheterpal, Gaurav Bose, Himanshu Kishan Mehra, and Ali Abbas Zafar, the Bloody avatar of Shahid will be accompanied by an equally talented cast of Diana Penty, Sanjay Kapoor, Ronit Roy, and Rajeev Khandelwal in pivotal roles. Bloody Daddy unravels the story of Sumair (played by Shahid Kapoor) as he faces off against Gurugram’s white-collar drug lords, deceitful friends, a ruthless crime boss, murderous narcs, and both corrupt and honest cops – all during one fateful night. In the midst of a post-COVID party apocalypse, this embattled man embraces a precarious new normal and will stop at nothing to save the one relationship that truly matters to him. The action-packed extravaganza is a Jio Studios, AAZ Films & Offside Entertainment production in association with Vermilion World and written by Ali Abbas Zafar and Aditya Basu.

Speaking about his unconventional role, Shahid Kapoor said, "Doing an out-an-out action film was something I have been wanting to do but I was waiting for the right one to come my way. When Ali came to me with this project, I knew this was it! It's high-octane, action-packed, it's thrilling, it's intense, and created especially for a digital-first audience. Ali is a true master when it comes to this style of film, and it's been very enriching for me to partner with him on this. We really love what we have created together and are bloody excited to see the audience reaction now.”

Ali Abbas Zafar shared his journey of making the film, “We see a lot of dark crime thrillers in the West, but hardly any in India that are made at that level and intensity. Bloody Daddy breaks all stereotypes right from Shahid’s transformation into a ‘killing machine’ to being one of the first direct-to-OTT films to be created at this grand a scale! Bloody Daddy is a hard-hitting out-and-out dark action thriller, that promises raw and real action.”

The Kashmir Files, Karthikeya 2, and now Tiger Nageswara Rao. Abhishek Agarwal Arts which delivered blockbusters at the Pan India level is coming up with yet another Pan India project Tiger Nageswara Rao with Mass Maharaja who is familiar to the south as well as the north audience playing the titular role. Directed by Vamsee and produced grandly by Abhishek Agarwal of Abhishek Agarwal Arts, the promotions of the movie kick-start in a first-of-its-kind manner with the makers launching the fierce and majestic first-look poster and intriguing concept video in the iconic Havelock Bridge (Godavari) in Rajahmundry. They hired a train for the grand first-look launch event.

Ravi Teja looks like a ferocious tiger and roars like a tiger in the first-look poster that sees him in a rugged get-up with a thick beard. It’s scary to stare into his eyes, though it’s just a poster. He can be seen behind bars. The concept poster is meant to introduce the world of Tiger Nageswara Rao. It is articulated strikingly with voiceovers of five different superstars in five different languages. While Venkatesh gave voiceover for the Telugu version, John Abraham, Shiva Rajkumar, Karthi, and Dulquer Salmaan introduced the world of Tiger Nageswara Rao in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam languages respectively.

As mentioned at the beginning of the video, the story is inspired by true rumors. “It was the 70s. A small village in the coastal region of the Bay of Bengal... Even the darkness that scares the world is afraid of the people there... The train that makes huge noise trembles when it reaches the outskirts of the area... The feet of people shudder when they see the landmark of the town... Stuartpuram is the crime capital of South India... That area has another name... Tiger Zone… The Zone of Tiger Nageswara Rao...” explains the voiceover.

The dialogue- “You might have seen a tiger hunting a deer? Have you ever seen a tiger hunting a tiger?” uttered by Ravi Teja describes the ruthless nature of the character. The voiceovers of the superstars make the portrayal more interesting.

Director Vamsee picked a winning script and he is presenting it in an appealing manner. Top technicians are working on the movie and we can see the brilliant and collective efforts put in by all the craftsmen.

The visuals captured by R Madhie ISC, the presentation by director Vamsee, the grandness in making by Abhishek Agarwal Arts, and the sound created by GV Prakash Kumar give enough elevation and take us to the world of notorious criminals. Ravi Teja’s body language, diction, and getup are completely different. The first look and the concept video create curiosity among the audience across the nation.

Nupur Sanon and Gayathri Bharadwaj are roped in to play the leading ladies opposite Ravi Teja in the movie.

Avinash Kolla is the production designer. Srikanth Vissa is the dialogue writer, while Mayank Singhaniya is the co-producer.
