Sawan Somvaar, also known as Shravan Maas, is about to begin, and devotees of Lord Shiva are getting ready to celebrate this auspicious month. Throughout the month, followers worship Lord Shiva and pray to Goddess Parvati. Every Monday, known as Somwars, during the month of Sawan, is considered auspicious for fasting, observed by devotees as Sawan Somwar vrats. Lead actors from &TV delve into the importance of this sacred month and share their reasons for observing fasting during Sawan Somvaar. These include Preity Sahay (Kamini, Doosri Maa), Himani Shivpuri (Katori Amma, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and Vidisha Srivastava (Anita Bhabi, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai. Preity Sahay, aka Kamini from Doosri Maa, shares, “The devotees of Lord Shiva hold this month in high regard as it is extremely auspicious. According to legends, during the cosmic ocean churning, known as Samudra Manthan, Lord Shiva consumed venom to retrieve the nectar called Amrit, which would save the world. To prevent the venom from harming him, Goddess Parvati held his neck, turning it blue and causing him pain and burns. To express their gratitude, devotees offer water from the holy river Ganga to soothe their wounds. Moreover, they observe Shravan Somvar Vrats, fasting on all sixteen Mondays, also called Solah Somwar vrats, during Sawan, to seek blessings from Lord Shiva for success, marriage, and prosperity, and to fulfill their heartfelt desires.”

Himani Shivpuri, aka Katori Amma from Happu ki Ultan Paltan, shares, “During this month dedicated to Lord Shiva, people observe fasts, particularly on Mondays, which are known as 'Shravan Somvar Vrat.' Across various regions of India, devotees dress in traditional attire and embark on the Kanwar Yatra pilgrimage, carrying water pots called kanwars on their shoulders. They walk to sacred rivers, including the Ganges, to collect water and offer it to Lord Shiva. According to legend, Goddess Parvati's unwavering devotion impressed Lord Shiva, and he granted her wish to marry him. As a result, unmarried girls fast for sixteen Mondays, hoping to find a suitable partner. They wake up during the auspicious brahma muhurta, bathe at dawn, and worship Lord Shiva by offering various items such as milk, curd, honey, sugar, sandalwood paste, Ganga Jal (water from the Ganges), and other food items.” Vidisha Srivastava, aka Anita Bhabi from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, shares, “Observing a fast throughout the month of Sawan is considered highly auspicious. It involves waking up early in the morning, visiting the temple of Lord Shiva, and offering a sacred mixture known as Panchamrut, consisting of milk, ghee, yogurt, Ganga Jal (water from the Ganges), and honey, along with Bilva leaves. This practice continues throughout the revered month of Shravan. During this sacred period, fasting individuals may consume milk and dairy products, fruits, and other permissible items. Apart from worshipping Lord Shiva, fasting individuals also pay homage to Goddess Parvati, seeking a life filled with peace, prosperity, and success. It is believed that those who observe fasts on Mondays in the month of Sawan receive divine blessings.”

गेली जवळपास दोन वर्ष सन मराठी ह्या वाहिनीने  नात्यांनी सजलेल्या आपल्या वेगवेगळ्या मालिकांमधून महाराष्ट्रातील तमाम प्रेक्षकांशी आपले नाते घट्ट केले आहे. आपल्या प्रत्येक नव्या मालिकेतून एका वेगळ्या विषयाला हात घालणारी,  सन मराठी ही वाहिनी आता श्री देव वेतोबाची कथा प्रेक्षकांसमोर घेऊन येत असून “क्षेत्रपाल श्री देव वेतोबा” ही नवी कोरी मालिका १७ जुलैपासून सोमवार ते शनिवार संध्याकाळी ७ वाजता प्रेक्षकांच्या भेटीस येत आहेत.

कोकणातील परंपरा, प्रथा, रुढींशिवाय   तेथील गूढ  गोष्टींविषयी  कायमच महाराष्ट्राला एक प्रकारचे आकर्षण वाटत आले आहे. त्यापैकीच एक वैशिष्ट्य म्हणजे ‘वेतोबा’. भक्तांचा रक्षणकर्ता, कोकणचा क्षेत्रपाल, संकट निवारक आणि सिंधुदुर्गातील आरवली गावाचे ग्रामदैवत म्हणजे ‘श्री देव वेतोबा’. खरं तर वेतोबा म्हणजे भूतनाथ.  पण कोकणात संकटसमयी भक्तांच्या हाकेला देवासारख्या धाऊन जाणाऱ्या वेतोबाला देवाचे स्थान आहे. संकटसमयी वेगवेगळ्या रूपांत हाकेला धावून येणाऱ्या वेतोबाची प्रचिती कित्येक गावकऱ्यांना आलेली आहे.  हातात काठी घेऊन भव्य-दिव्य देहरूप असलेला वेतोबा गावांच्या वेशींवर गस्त घालतो. कुणी भक्त  संकटात असेल तर त्याचे रक्षण करतो. एवढंच नव्हे तर कोणतेही मोठे काम सुरु करण्यापूर्वी किंवा मोठा निर्णय घेण्यापूर्वी कोकणवासी आपल्या लाडक्या वेतोबाचा कौल घेतात. तशी प्रथाच आहे कोकणात.

श्री देव वेतोबा’चे मंदिर कोकणातील आरवली या ठिकाणी वसलेले असून हे अत्यंत जागृत असे देवस्थान मानले जाते.

रक्षणकर्ता वेतोबाच्या अश्या अनेक गोष्टी १७ जुलैपासून ‘सन मराठी’ वाहिनीवरील “क्षेत्रपाल श्री देव वेतोबा” या नवी मालिकेच्या माध्यमातून उलगडणार आहेत.

आता वेतोबाच्या भूमिकेत दिसणार कोण, हे जाणून घेण्यासाठी अनेकजण उत्सुक असणार. तर रोहित शेट्टी दिग्दर्शित ‘सर्कस’, ‘सूर्यवंशी’, ‘सिंबा’, संजय लीला भंसाळी दिग्दर्शित ‘गंगुबाई काठीयावाडी’ इत्यादी हिंदी तसेच तामिळ सिनेमा ‘काला’ आणि ‘एक्सट्रॅक्शन’ या  हॉलिवूडपटात अभिनय करुन प्रेक्षकांची मने जिंकणारा अभिनेता उमाकांत पाटील वेतोबाची भूमिका साकारणार आहे. या मालिकेचा विचार केला असता त्याची शरीर रचना, बांधा, रूप पाहून वेतोबा ह्या भूमिकेला उमाकांत योग्य न्याय देईल याची खात्री वाटते.

Mankind’s love affair with chocolate began many years back and even today it is enjoyed by people across ages and geographies. As we celebrate World Chocolate Day, &TV actors talk about their love for chocolate, along with some delightful memories. These actors include Aayudh Bhanuhali (Krishna, Doosri Maa), Gazal Sood (Kate Singh, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and Vidisha Srivastava (Anita Bhabi, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai). Aayudh Bhanushali, aka Krishna from Doosri Maa, shares, “I can finish five to six bars of chocolate in one go, only if my mother allows me to do so (laugh). Looking at my love for chocolate, she always tries to hide it from me, but somehow, I find it. I remember receiving a lot of chocolates as gifts on my birthday, and my mother hid them in a suitcase. Later, when I asked my mother for a chocolate bar, she agreed only on the condition that I would go to sleep on time. She opened the suitcase only to find out that there was no chocolate left! Initially, she thought she must have kept it elsewhere and started searching for it. I could not hold my laughter and burst into laughter. Now she ensures that I do not consume too much chocolate. I am sure everyone has funny chocolate memories like me. I wish everyone a delightful World Chocolate Day!”

Gazal Sood, aka Kate Singh from Happu ki Ultan Paltan, shares, “Chocolate and I share an inseparable bond. I enjoy chocolates so much that if somebody wants to get any work done, they will have to bribe me with Dark chocolates (laughs). I remember getting fifty different types of chocolates anonymously on Chocolate Day during my college days. It was overwhelming for me. My friends started teasing me about having a secret admirer, but it was a cute gesture. It is still a mystery who gave me the chocolate that day. I genuinely wanted to thank that person for being the ‘Willy Wonka’ of my life. But I could not find him to date. I believe no one can stop themselves from munching on chocolate. Thus, celebrate this special day by having some tasty bites and surprising your buddies and family members by showering your love on them by gifting chocolates.” Vidisha Srivastava, aka Anita Bhabi in &TV’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, shares, “I am a big fan of chocolate and its delicacies. Sipping a cup of hot chocolate is one of my favourite things to do in the monsoon. I can get chocolate cravings anytime, and I keep trying some interesting, sweet combinations using chocolate. I remember being on an outdoor shoot at a place that was isolated. I checked with my team if there would be any shops around where I could get some chocolates, but it was too late, and the market was closed. I tried to divert my mind, but I couldn't control my urge to have chocolate. After looking around in my room, I saw two small homemade chocolates wrapped in foil paper and some biscuits. So, I melted those chocolates, added some milk, and then poured them on the layer of biscuits. By the time I had that, it was 2 in the morning, which made me realise that it took me almost three hours to satisfy my cravings. So yes, like many, my love affair with chocolate is also timeless!”

Vijay Lakshmi Mallya, known for appearing in multiple television shows, will join &TV’s cult comedy, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai. Maryada’s character will cause massive turmoil in Manmohan Tiwari’s (Rohitashv Gour) and Angoori's (Shubhangi Atre) married life. Revealing details about her character in the show, Vijay Lakshmi Mallya comments, “Maryada is Vibhuti (Aasif Sheikh's) cousin sister. She gets in touch with him and informs him about the terrible disease she is suffering from and that she only has three days left. She doesn't want to die without discovering true love and asks her brother Vibhuti to help her find one. On Vibhuti request, Manmohan Tiwari (Rohitashv Gour) agrees to be her love interest. The twist occurs when Maryada falls in love with Tiwari Ji and proposes to him to marry her.” She adds, “Maryada is unlike any other character I have played onscreen. She is a lovely young lady with psychotic tendencies. As an actor, I enjoy playing challenging characters. However, I was a bit nervous initially as I was sharing the screen space with some of the most talented actors like Aasif Sheikh and Rohitashv Gour. I am grateful that they have been extremely supportive and assisted me in giving my best.”

Sharing her excitement about bagging a role in an immensely popular, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, the actress shares, "I am venturing into comedy for the first time, and there's no better opportunity than joining the cast of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai. I have always been an avid show fan, thoroughly enjoying every episode. So, getting the opportunity to be a part of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai is a dream come true for me. Angoori's character is my favourite, and I adore how she says 'Sahi Pakde Hain'. I often find myself using that phrase in real life. Meeting her and sharing this excitement was an incredible experience. I am incredibly excited about my character in the show. Moreover, working alongside such a talented and supportive cast has been an absolute blessing, making the entire experience even more enjoyable.”

It has become an essential part of my life, something I never compromise on.
