Superstitions Actors Believe in Before Going for a Shoot!

Superstitions Actors Believe in Before Going for a Shoot!

The world of entertainment is filled with talent, dedication, and hard work, but many actors also have their own little rituals and beliefs that they follow before stepping in front of the camera. From lucky charms to specific routines, these superstitions bring them a sense of comfort and positivity. &TV actors Smita Sable (Dhaniya from Bheema), Himani Shivpuri (Katori Amma from Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and Rohitashv Gour (Manmohan Tiwari from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai) share their personal beliefs that help them feel prepared and confident before a shoot. Smita Sable, known for her role as Dhaniya in Bheema, shares, "Before every shoot, I always wear my nazarbattu, a small black thread or bracelet my father gave me to keep negativity away. It has been with me for years, and I believe it protects me from any bad energy. I also make it a habit to silently thank the universe for the opportunity to perform and say a short prayer before the camera starts rolling. These small rituals keep me grounded and fill me with positivity before stepping into my character."

Himani Shivpuri, who plays Katori Amma in Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, reveals, “I never leave for a shoot without looking at my parents’ photo. It gives me strength and reminds me why I work so hard. Another superstition I follow is that I never step out of the house if someone sneezes right before me. It’s something my family always believed in, and it has just stayed with me. If someone sneezes while I am about to leave, I wait for a minute, drink a sip of water, and then leave. It may sound funny, but it makes me feel at ease before I go to the set." Rohitashv Gour, popular for his role as Manmohan Tiwari in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, shares, "I always eat a spoonful of curd and sugar before heading to the set. It’s an age-old belief in our family that this brings good luck and ensures smooth work. I also make sure to enter the set with my right foot first. It’s something I have done since my theatre days, and it has become a habit now. These little beliefs give me confidence and help me start my shoot with a positive mindset."

Chief x Babbar Drop the Ultimate Hustle Anthem—"K Kaam"

Chief x Babbar Drop the Ultimate Hustle Anthem—"K Kaam"

Chief and Babbar are here to release their latest drop, "K Kaam", a hard-hitting anthem for the dreamers, the hustlers, and everyone putting in work behind the scenes.

With razor-sharp lyrics and a beat that hits like a reality check, "K Kaam" peels back the layers of perception. It’s for the ones who are labelled as idle or unambitious—when in reality, they’re grinding in silence, building their empire brick by brick. The track embodies the hustle, the late nights, the sacrifices, and the resilience it takes to carve out a name in a world that only sees results, not the struggle behind them.

Babbar and Chief bring an electrifying synergy to the track, merging raw storytelling with an infectious hook that sticks. Whether you’re out there chasing dreams, fighting the odds, or simply proving the doubters wrong, "K Kaam" is your new go-to anthem.

Commenting on the song, Chief says ”People see the success, but they don’t see the struggle. K Kaam is for everyone out there hustling in silence, proving their worth without shouting about it. This track is a reminder that real work speaks for itself, explanations needed”

Babbar adds ”They judge what they don’t understand. K Kaam flips the narrative and shines a light on the grind that often goes unnoticed. It’s for the ones putting in the work when no one’s watching, and when it finally pays off, the world will know”

Dhekale drives Chennai Singams charge with a captain’s knock

Dhekale drives Chennai Singams charge with a captain’s knock

Sumeet Dhekale played yet another captain’s knock to bail Chennai Singams out against Tiigers of Kolkata in the Singams’ penultimate league match of the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) Season 2 at the Dadoji Konddev Stadium in Thane on Saturday. Riding on Dhekale’s quickfire 31 (17b, 5x4), Singams recovered from a precarious 24 for four to finish its essay at 65 for seven in its stipulated 10 overs. The Tiigers of Kolkata – who continued to remain at the bottom of the points table – then chased down the target in six overs, losing one wicket. Dhekale, the stylish southpaw, though gave a lesson of how raw power and aerial hitting is not the be-all and end-all to succeed in cricket, especially tennis-ball cricket, as a batter. When the veteran batter – also a regular on Mumbai’s maidan cricket circles – took guard in the fifth over, Singams were down to 24 for four.

Shivam Kumar was the Kolkata outfit’s star performer, having picked three wickets in the second over of the match. Dhekale knew he could not afford to take too many risks. As a result, the captain preferred to look for gaps through the field rather than clearing the boundary ropes. His first four came in the seventh over, off Vivek Mohanan, which was the first boundary since Ketan Mhatre’s twin blows in the opening over. When Shivam returned into the attack in the last over over, Dhekale took charge and smashed consecutive fours to help the Singams cross the 60-run mark. However, he was unfortunately run-out off the next ball while trying to race back to his crease while stealing a second run.

In a bid to defend a relatively moderate target of 66, Anurag Sarshar gave away just five runs in the first over and Jignesh Patel then dismissed Sarfraz Khan in the next over to offer Singams a ray of hope. But Fardeen Kazi and Thomas Dias then finished the game off, especially by going after Rahul Sawant’s left-arm spin in the sixth over. The left-arm spinner was chosen for the 50-50 over and the Kolkata batters hammered three fours and a six, resulting in the team being awarded nine bonus points. The Singams will face table-toppers Majhi Mumbai in a must-win match on Sunday.
Brief sores: Chennai Singams 65/7 in 10 overs (Sumeet Dhekale 31) lost to Tiigers of Kolkata 68/1 in 6 overs (Thomas Dias 30 not out, Fardeen Kazi 23 not out; Jignesh Patel 1/18).

I feel lucky that I got to produce the first song that was composed without words. It was a kind of experience that where words fall silent, emotions start speaking and emotions directly touch the heart. I am very happy that the audience is liking the teaser and the song.” Music director Aditya Barve says about the song process, “I came up with a tune while playing the guitar. Then I sat down with a flute artist and developed the tune using the same tune and then decided to make an instrumental song on it. Namrata liked the concept and then we shot this song in Alibaug. It is a different experiment to sing without words and I hope the audience will like it.” With melodious music, heart-warming story and stunning locations, the song Sneha is sure to be a perfect romantic gift this Valentine's Week. Get ready to get lost in the world of love!

MEIL Director &  Philanthropist Sudha Reddy Embarks on a Spiritual Odyssey at Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, Announces Major Humanitarian Initiative

Hyderabad, February 2025: Distinguished philanthropist and business leader Sudha Reddy participated in the sacred Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, undertaking a meticulously planned three- day spiritual sojourn that seamlessly blended ancient traditions with contemporary humanitarian service. Her pilgrimage encompassed both spiritual immersion and charitable outreach, reflecting her commitment to preserving India's cultural heritage while addressing modern social needs. Her journey began with an exploration of Prayagraj's spiritual landmarks, including the architecturally significant Shivalaya Park, the historically rich Someshwar Mahadev Mandir, and the revered Veni Madhav Mandir, culminating in a twilight meditation at the picturesque Arail Ghat.

In a profound act of devotion, Mrs. Reddy participated in the sacred Sangam Snan at Triveni Sangam during the auspicious morning hours of February 6th. This was followed by a traditional boat journey at the mystical confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and mythical Saraswati rivers, accompanied by renowned religious scholars, who conducted traditional ceremonies. Sudha Reddy shared, “The Maha Kumbh Mela represents humanity’s timeless quest for spiritual enlightenment and our ancient civilisation’s enduring wisdom. It was a profound honour to not only participate in these sacred traditions but also to serve the gathering of devoted souls through our charitable initiatives.”

A key highlight of her visit was the Annadanam service at the ISKCON Temple complex, where over 1,000 pilgrims and sadhus received nutritious, sanctified meals—an initiative that underscored her dedication to combining spiritual practices with practical humanitarian action. Her itinerary also included an in-depth exploration of key Akhadas, offering deep insights into India’s ancient ascetic traditions. Additionally, she participated in special darshan ceremonies at both ISKCON and TTD Temples, engaged in interactive sessions with esteemed spiritual leaders and scholars, and contributed to documenting traditional Kumbh Mela practices to ensure their cultural preservation.
