Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport with 700 hp

Dubai. Near standard and yet spectacular – the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport celebrated its world premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The 700 hp (515 kW) racing version of the road-legal 911 GT2 RS* sports car is limited to 200 units and can be run at clubsport events as well as selected motorsport meets. “For the upcoming years, our customers will not only race the GT2 RS Clubsport on track days but also at international motor racing events. We are currently holding very productive talks with the race organiser SRO,” says Dr Frank-Steffen Walliser, Vice President Motorsport and GT Cars.

The technology of the race car from Weissach is based on the high-performance 911 GT2 RS sports car, just like in the 935, which Porsche unveiled nine weeks ago. Both share the same engine as their road-legal relative: a state-of-the-art 3.8-litre flat-six twin-turbo motor. Power from the rear engine is transferred via a rigidly mounted seven-speed Porsche dual clutch gearbox (PDK) to the 310-millimetre-wide rear wheels. Like in all other racing versions of the 911, the driver changes gears via ergonomically positioned shift paddles on the steering wheel. The positioning of the engine behind the rear axle ensures excellent traction and braking performances. Six-piston aluminium monobloc racing callipers on the front axle in combination with internally ventilated and grooved steel brake discs with a 390-millimeter diameter provide excellent deceleration values at the front axle. The rear axle is fitted with four-piston callipers and 380-millimeter discs.

Like the road-legal 911 GT2 RS, the 1,390-kilogram Clubsport version is equipped with PSM (Porsche Stability Management) including traction control as well as an anti-lock braking system (ABS). Thanks to a so-called map switch positioned on the centre console, these assistance systems can be adjusted separately or switched off completely, depending on the driving situation.

The carbon steering wheel and the colour display behind it have been taken from the 2019 Porsche 911 GT3 R model. A massive safety cage combined with a racing bucket seat and a six-point safety harness ensure maximum safety. Air conditioning provides optimal cooling of the interior.

The new Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport can be ordered directly from the Porsche Motorsport department. Customers will receive their vehicles from May 2019 at exclusive delivery events.

Sonu Nigam and Hariharan performed live for Fund Raiser show for Kerala flood affected Victims With Saurabh Daftary.

One of the choicest of music concerts Rehmatein is back with its 6th edition! This time with music veterans Sonu Nigam and Hariharan at the helm of affairs, and an 18 piece orchestra set up, Rehmatein 6 was bigger. Rehmatein 6, the biggest fundraiser event from Sangeetam Charitable Trust, was hosted by E-Bizz Entertainment Pvt Ltd at Shanmukhanand Hall, Sion Mumbai.  It was a full house concert with a noble cause attached to it. Hariharan and Sonu Nigam sang all their major super hit songs for audience and guest. Padam Vibhushan Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan , Padamshri Anup Jalota , Talat Aziz, Salim Merchant, Jaspinder Narula, Leslie Lewis and Yogesh Lakhani of Bright Outdoor attended the concert. Saurabh Daftary thanked his sponsors- LIC, Kanakia Builders, SBI, Axis Mutual Funds, Mahindra Finance and audience for their support for this noble cause.

The trust, co-founded by Saurabh Daftary, has been extending financial aide to the artists of the music fraternity over the last decade and over the last five year via Rehmatein. While in the first year they presented an amount of 5 Lakh to the living legends of our industry Khayyam Saab & Rajendra Mehta, in the second year Rehmatein gave medical insurance cover to as many as 20 musicians. In their third, fourth and fifth year they gave medical aide and insurance cover to over 100 musicians. Set against the vibrant canvas of Rajasthan, where every grain of the desert sand tells a story, the show will chronicle the saga of Manmohini, an unfulfilled soul who has been longing to reunite with her love Rana Sa for 500 years and comes back from the past to haunt his contemporary incarnation Ram and his wife Siya. The show captures Siya’s unconditional love for Ram and her spirited battle against an immortal force as fierce as Mohini in order to keep her man.  In this unusual combat between two women, one a selfless modern day mortal and the other an obsessive, immortal spirit who resorts to the power of Bhura Jaadu to win back her love, audiences will find themselves rooting for both Siya and Mohini from time to time. The show will present Mohini as a woman so helplessly in love that she resorts to witchcraft to win her love. We have gone to great lengths in researching for the show through rare scriptures and the folk-lore from Rajasthan that has references of the traditional Ghagra Paltan cult having practiced this form of witchcraft. As a result, we have been able to nuance our characters in terms of their styling, dialect, their mannerisms and their cultural sensibilities to ensure authenticity in our narrative.  The canvas of the show gives us a lot of creative liberty to explore and experiment with riveting visuals of magic conjured from sand. To give the audiences a sense of authenticity, the show has been shot at some truly fascinating locales of Rajasthan, some of them known to be haunted. Manmohini is backed by strong VFX work that will make it visually spectacular. The ravishing Reyhna Pandit, who plays the role of the mystical Mohini plans to give the idea of witches a whole new definition. She said, “Mohini is not your stereotypical witch. She is a woman in love, desperate for reciprocation from her man. So, she isn’t to be mistaken for an evil spirit. There is integrity and sincerity in the way she loves Rana Sa and comes back to claim his reincarnation Ram who she believes is rightfully her’s. It is her methods of winning him over, through Bhura Jaadu, that are questionable. Witches are historically considered hideous and frightful and the look is usually not easy on the eyes. But, Mohini is unlike any of these, in fact, she is beautiful, powerful and her obsessive streak to get her true love will fascinate viewers and there will be times they will root for her even more than they root for Siya to win Ram. All these factors drew me to the character and I am very excited to bring alive a different side of witches and witchcraft to the television screen.”

The handsome Ankit Siwach, who will be seen as Ram said, “Manmohini will weave magic with its intricate maze of mystery, love, paranormal powers and above all, a gripping narrative. My character, Ram, is a young dynamic businessman from London with a royal linage, a king in his previous birth now reincarnated as an extremely affluent, polished young turk. The show will have flashbacks and shuffles between Ram’s previous birth and his present day while narrating the story of two women at war over him,  Siya - a modern day mortal and the other an immortal spirit Mohini. He finds himself trapped in the web of Mohini’s love which changes the course of his life forever. A lot of hard work has gone into essaying this character and I am happy, excited and nervous all at once.”.

The fresh faced newcomer Garima Singh Rathore is excited to debut as a mainstream television actress with this show. She said, “I couldn’t have asked for a better debut on television than Manmohini and I have a lot of expectations from the show. My character, Siya, is a simple girl who loves her husband a lot and can go to any extent to save him from Mohini’s evil ploys. It is her devotion to Ram that will set her up in a war against Mohini - an immortal spirit who has returned from her husband’s previous life to haunt them with Bhura Jadu. The show is based in Rajasthan and I am originally from Jaipur. Hence, I could relate to a lot of elements and  I hope that the viewers enjoy the show and appreciate me in the character of Siya.”

The show also features actors Vandana Pathak, Neeta Mohindra, Vaishali Nazareth and others in pivotal roles.

The new Porsche 911: more powerful, faster, with a new design

Mumbai. Entering the eighth generation, the new Porsche 911 celebrated its world premiere on the eve of this year’s L.A. Auto Show, with the reveal of the 911 Carrera S and 4S Coupé models. The brand’s icon continues to set the standard when it comes to exclusive sportiness. Unmistakably committed to the Porsche design DNA with a more muscular look and an interior featuring a 10.9-inch touchscreen monitor, the new 911 is timeless and modern. Intelligent control and chassis elements as well as innovative assistance systems enhance the masterfully uncompromising dynamism that the classic rear-engine sports car is famed for.

The next generation of flat-six turbocharged engines has been further developed and is more powerful than ever before, resulting in a performance of 450 hp (331 kW) in the 911 Carrera S and 4S. An improved injection process and a new layout for the turbochargers and charge air cooling system enhance drive efficiency even further. The power is delivered by a newly developed eight-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (dual-clutch transmission). Additional highlights include new assistance systems, such as the Porsche Wet mode to make driving even safer, Night Vision Assist with thermal imaging camera, as well as comprehensive connectivity now also using swarm intelligence. 

911 Carrera S models start from 450 hp
The turbocharged flat-six engine of the 911 Carrera S* and 911 Carrera 4S* now produces 450 hp (331 kW). This corresponds to an increase of 30 hp (22 kW) compared with the previous generation. Both 911 models beat the four-second mark for acceleration from zero to 100 km/h: the rear-wheel-drive 911 Carrera S needs 3.7 seconds and the 911 Carrera 4S, with all-wheel drive, just 3.6 seconds. This makes both cars 0.4 seconds faster than their predecessors. The optional Sport Chrono Package reduces the sprint by a further 0.2 seconds. The top speed has been measured at 308 km/h for the 911 Carrera S and 306 km/h for the all-wheel-drive version. The fuel consumption (NEDC-correlated) of the 911 Carrera S is 8.9 l/100 km, while the 911 Carrera 4S records this figure as 9.0 l/100 km.

Clear design language, unmistakable identity
The exterior design is completely new and emphasises the leap in performance for the 911 internally coded as 992. Significantly wider wheel housings arch over the 20-inch front wheels and 21-inch rear wheels. The rear end is now the same width across all models, highlighting the slimline centre section. At the front, the body is 45 mm wider. Electrical pop-out handles in the doors emphasise the tapered and smooth side contour, while a bonnet with a pronounced recess evokes the design of the first 911 generations. At the rear, all models feature a rear significantly wider, variable-position rear spoiler and the seamless, elegant light strip. Apart from the front and rear sections, the entire outer shell is now made from aluminium.

The completely new interior is characterised by the clear and straight lines of the dashboard with recessed instruments, inspired by the 911 models from the 1970s. Alongside the central rev counter – typical for Porsche – two thin, frameless displays supply information to the driver. The centre screen of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) is now 10.9 inches, and can be operated easily and without distraction thanks to the new interior design. Located underneath this there is a compact switch unit with five buttons for direct access to important vehicle functions. In terms of digitalisation, the 911 takes the next step into the future with permanent connectivity as well as new functions and services. The standard PCM features include navigation as well as Porsche Connect Plus. 

New assistance systems increase safety and comfort
In a world first, Porsche has developed the Wet mode, included as standard. This function detects water on the road, preconditions the control systems accordingly and warns the driver, who can then set up the vehicle for enhanced safety, by simply pushing a button or using the mode switch on the steering wheel (Sport Chrono Package). The warning and brake assist system, also fitted as standard, detects the risk of collisions with moving objects and initiates emergency braking if necessary. Night Vision Assist with a thermal imaging camera is optionally available for the 911 for the first time. The adaptive cruise control option includes automatic distance control, stop-and-go function, reversible occupant protection and an innovative autonomous Emergency Assist function.
