 Actor Govinda inaugurated Surya Hospital's Daycare Chemotherapy Centre in Santacruz, Mumbai today along with renowned Oncologist Dr. Suresh Advani and Dr. Bhupendra Awasthi. While at the event, Govinda reminisced how he used to be generally weak and low on his optimal wellness levels as a teenager. He duly credited his mother for

promptly soughting help from appropriate doctors to assist him to recover. Govinda further disclosed that by the time he turned 21, he had fully recovered from his ailments by following doctor's guidance combined with the recitational power of Gayatri Mantra. He stated doctors are next to God; the real heroes who help save innumerable lives. He further said, "I'm truly humbled to have been invited here for the inaugural. I'll always come forth in the service of people."

Many deserving doctors from the field of Oncology were felicitated for their expertise and contribution at the Surya Healthcare Awards 2021 including Dr. Suresh Advani who won the Lifetime Achievement Award. Tide launches ESOP secondary sale program after an oversubscribed Series C round

  

Tide, the UK's leading business financial platform, which began operations in India in 2020, recently facilitated the secondary sale of Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOPs) to investors for its employees in India, Bulgaria, and the UK, following its recent Series C funding, due to oversubscription. Approximately 50-percent of all permanent employees have been allotted ESOPs at various levels across all departments.

Earlier in July 2021, Tide raised more than $100 million in Series C funding, which brought the company’s total funding to date to over $200 million. Tide’s post-money value is now over $650 million, after only four years of operation. The last funding round was led by Apax Digital, the growth equity team of Apax Partners. Existing investors, including Anthemis, Augmentum, Jigsaw, Local Globe / Latitude, SBI, and SpeedInvest also participated in the round.

Liza Haskell, Chief Administrative Officer, Tide, said, “Due to our oversubscribed Series C round, we had enough investor interest to give Tideans (employees) an opportunity to sell a portion of their vested shares to investors.”

These shares were across all departments but varied by levels in each division. Considering the complex nature of the secondary share sale program, Tide held in-depth training to help employees assess the options available to them. Tide also covered the financial advisor and processing fees for those who chose to sell their vested shares.

Commenting on the development, Liza Haskell further emphasized, “At Tide, we believe in the value of working as one team and strive to be an employer of choice. Tide has been offering ESOPs to many employees since inception as this ensures we share in the success of our combined hard work to get us where we are today. Especially during Covid times, it is one of the best ways to keep employees motivated, engaged, and living by the #oneteam value.”

Earlier this year, Tide announced it will create over 1,000 jobs in India in the next five years. These positions will be across a wide variety of roles, including product development, software development, marketing, risk & compliance, and member support.

Bollywood actress Evelyn Sharma recently launched her new podcast “Love Matters” on all major streaming platforms and it has already become one of the top rated podcasts in India. On the show, the mommy-to-be is opening up a space for vulnerable, intimate and critical conversations on love and relationships in India.

In episode two she invites sex positivity influencer Leeza Mangaldas to speak about the importance of a positive image around the act of love and the much needed physical education that needs to come with it. 

The podcast also features guests like singer Benny Dayal, fitness icon Yasmin Karachiwala, comedian Kaneez Surka, and LGBTQ+ activist Sushant Divgikar.

“The RBI on expected lines kept the key rates unchanged for the eighth consecutive time and retained accommodative stance as long as necessary. The Governor reiterated commitment to maintaining adequate system liquidity to support economic recovery. The Governor retained FY22 GDP growth forecast at 9.5% and stated pick up in vaccination is giving greater confidence to open up and recovery of the Indian economy is gaining traction. While recovery is picking pace, inflationary conditions and weak demand conditions need to be monitored closely. Continued benign interest rates will be positive to support broader economy particularly SMEs, small businesses and unorganized sector and the RBI has further extended support to these sectors which is positive. Extension of On Tap Special LTROs for Small finance banks till October 31,2021 is positive as it will further support small businesses, MSMEs. Recognising the important role played by NBFCs in providing credit to underserved/unserved segments the RBI has further extended priority sector classification till march 31, 2022 for bank lending to registered NBFCs (other than MFIS) for on lending to sectors like Agriculture, MSMEs and housing. With business activities having resumed pan-India and vaccination coverage also progressing nicely across, we are seeing lifting of market sentiment and demand revival going into the festive season.”
