'Rushimooniyon Ka'

Samantha Prabhu starrer track 'Rushimooniyon Ka' weaves a tale of Love!

Samantha Prabhu & Dev Mohan are gearing up for the release of their film Shaakuntalam. Ahead of its release, Tips Music with Gunaa Teamworks released the second track titled 'Rushimooniyon Ka' from the epic mythological film in 5 languages - Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.

'Rushimooniyon Ka' is a gentle-paced love ballad that depicts the initial meeting, the growing warmth, and the love that blossoms between two people. Mani Sharma's composition is a sophisticated melody that flows like a river in the forest - soft in the middle, fast in the corners and serene all the time. Naresh Iyer and Chinmayi's voice adds a soothing texture to the music while bringing in the verve required. The lyrics by Prashant Ingole perfectly describe the building of a beautiful romantic relationship

Talking about the song Samantha Prabhu said “It is such a beautiful song depicting the emotions of two lovers. The song encompasses their feelings for each other and their expression of love for each other, in the heart of the forest. Mani Sharma sir's composition is so enchanting, that it makes you want to hear it on repeat. Chinmayi & Naresh Iyer have done a phenomenal job with their vocals."

"I am honoured to be a part of the song. It is unlike all the songs we hear today. In today's fast-paced world, Rushimooniyon Ka is a testament to the fact that gentle, slow-paced and story-based music is still widely loved. It was great working with Mani Sharma sir, I learnt a lot from him." says singer Naresh Iyer

Based on Kalidasa's internationally acclaimed Sanskrit play Abhigyana Shakuntalam, the film features Samantha as the titular character and actor Dev Mohan as King Dushyanta. The film is scheduled to release on February 17, 2023, and is produced under the banners of Dil Raju Presents, Sri Venkateswara Creations, and Gunaa Teamworks. Directed by Gunasekhar & produced by Neelima Guna, the film also stars Allu Arha, Sachin Khedekar, Kabir Bedi, Dr M Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Madhubala, Gautami, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, and Jisshu Sengupta.

"Farzi Kitaab"

From his album Sexy Bhai Ji, Naalayak releases "Farzi Kitaab" and "Gulshano Mein" that spotlight different emotions.

Naalayak a.k.a Sahil Samuel, a personage of the Independent Music Industry has released two more songs titled “Farzi Kitaab” & “Gulshano Mein” from his album Sexy Bhai Ji. Sahil Samuel is committed to the pursuit of truth in all spheres of life. His strength lies in his musical compositions & lyrics that provoke enlightenment through music.

This Chandigarh-based singer & songwriter calls out the hypocrisy of the world in his track Farzi Kitaab. This alt rock tune has a distinct atmosphere that will take you to a live rock concert. The song's narrator, Naalayak, wears no filters as he exposes the terrible truth of mankind's two-faced nature, how every promise is phoney, questions are left unanswered, and what we see and believe in the world is rarely genuine. Gulshano Mein, another track from the album from the rock world, depicts a lover's various complaints owing to a lack of time. There are stories, events, and moments that one would like to share with their sweetheart, yet all you get is a void.

The album SEXY BHAI JI is an experimental album that includes different sounds and music. It has a variety of songs from very talented musicians, with tracks "It’s Me," "Hum Jaage,", "Charcha Parcha," and "Tabeer" released in addition to "Farzi Kitaab" and "Gulshano Mein." The album is a mix of rock, blues, progressive, and electronic rock that aims to revitalise modern rock and roll.

Naalayak says, "In each song, I like to tap into a different emotion, such as sadness, love, or betrayal. Emotions are part of life, so we cannot escape them. In the midst of chaos, I hope that my songs nurture the emotions of my listeners and help them find their calm."

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Dreams are real. In the year of 1998, when Sahil was in 2nd std, he had a vivid dream where he saw a person on the stage surrounded by crowds. Little did he know at that time that this dream would eventually come true. He had the same dream when he was doing his 11th. Being disturbed about it he shared the dream with his mother to which she responded positively advising him to first finish his senior high schooling and then come home.
Sahil Samuel initially wanted to be a cricketer. He was well known in his school for being a left-handed batsman. Getting into the field of music was never a part of the future that he pictured. One day while he was actively taking part in cricket his music teacher approached him to sing for a farewell to which he denied at first but later could not refuse the request. After that day he was appreciated by many of his fellow schoolmates which left him puzzled. Before long Sahil Samuel recognized that he was just only fond of cricket and as for music it is an undying passion. Unfortunately, he was surprisingly welcomed by a facial paralysis as he decided to enter the music industry in 2013. Still determined with a strong will power to continue in the path of music he did not give in to the illness.
With much faith Sahil Samuel remained unmoved by the situation he was going through and later in the following months he earned his first club gig on 31st December, 2013. Since the time of his debut till the present day, he has made it to the top list of Indie bands in India with two hit albums ‘Hindi Gaane’ and ‘Main Ka Bukhar’ and ‘haan Pyaar hain’ single and also one EP ‘Naalayak.’ He is also currently on India tour for his 2nd EP ‘Round About.’ As amusing as the name of the band, so also is the front man. Sahil Samuel likes to keep it fun and energetic. The atmosphere that he creates always ends up bombastic. As he adventures on with his current 2022 India Tour let us also continue to cheer him up!

Artists share how they spent their first paycheck

Artists share how they spent their first paycheck

The first paycheck is always special and memorable. It is the first-ever salary earned, and there is always a lot of excitement. Most of us put a lot of thought into what we want to do with our first salary. &TV artists walk down memory lane to talk about their first paycheck and how they spent it. These include Sunil Dutt (Suresh Gupta, Doosri Maa), Himani Shivpuri (Katori Amma, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and Aasif Sheikh (Vibhuti Narayan Mishra, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai). Sunil Duttessaying Suresh Gupta in &TV’s Doosri Maa, says, “Before becoming an actor, I worked as an assistant supervisor in a ticketing agency in Delhi. I was very young at the time, and I recall receiving my first month's salary of Rs. 1800 after working for hours every day. I knew it wasn't a large sum, but it was a great achievement for me, and I was overjoyed. When I got home, I immediately gave my mother the entire amount of money as a gift and told her she could spend it on whatever she wanted. I recall my mother's emotional, teary eyes and the pride she felt in her heart. That day, she also made my favourite Gajar ka halwa, and I felt truly blessed by those sweet moments.”

Himani Shivpuri, essaying Katori Amma in &TV’s Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, says, “So my first salary was not a salary, but a monthly scholarship from NSD (National School of Drama), meant for academically sound students, which was around Rs 250/-. It had a lot of value back then. We lived in a hostel and had to manage our other expenses, so it came in handy. I remember saving that money and buying a small gold bracelet for my mother. She was quite surprised and overjoyed. She advised me not to overindulge and keep saving for important things that I might require from time to time. That stayed with me, and I learnt not to waste money unnecessarily and use it sensibly, which came in handy during unexpected times.” Aasif Sheikh, essaying Vibhuti Narayan Mishra in &TV’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, says, I remember I tried my hand at a modelling agency, but it didn’t succeed. My first salary in acting was Rs 550 a day, and I earned Rs 1650 for three days of shooting for ‘Hum Log’. I was thrilled to receive that amount and decided to treat some of my friends to a five-star hotel. And we went quite overboard in ordering our food which we realized when the bill came. It was Rs 2700, and I was completely zapped! The most exciting moment of my life became the most embarrassing moment. Thankfully, my friends were supportive enough to contribute the remaining amount (laughs). Now, whenever we friends meet, we always recall that moment and laugh a lot. My first salary will always be special and memorable for me.”

Watch Doosri Maa at 8:00 pm, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan at 10:00 pm, and Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai at 10:30 pm, airing every Monday to Friday only on &TV!

National Award winning Director Priyadarshan's film “Corona Papers”

Sandhya Shetty makes her debut in Malayalam film industry with National Award winning Director Priyadarshan's film “Corona Papers”

Riding high on the success of Dharavi Bank where she played the docile daughter of Thalaivan, "Parvathy", Sandhya Shetty is excited & looking forward to her Malayalam debut in Priyadarshan's directorial “Corona Papers”* which happens to be her second rendezvous with the director. Her 1st experience with this legend of a director in Tamil Film "Nimir" saw her dancing for the title song "Povukku", “Working with Priyadarshan sir is an honour. He is a gurukul, I learnt so much from him during the course of my shoot, he is one of the few directors who knows the nerves of the audience & delivers exactly that to them”'

Her last OTT outing which also happens to be her OTT debut fetched her much deserved applause for her acting prowess. An extremely focused and passionate actor, Sandhya just completed a hectic schedule of 45 days of shoot in Kochi for Corona Papers & the actress fell in love with the beauty of the city, she definitely is going for the "Mollywood" vibe more. While she was shooting for hours & hours, she managed to steal some time to explore the city, its culture & its cuisine.

Her unfulfilled dream of becoming an Army officer or a Cop in real life got its way through the cinema ''. She has enjoyed wearing the uniform and experienced the joy of being a tough cop and her karate training has surely helped her in this role “In a man's world where women are timid, I wish to empower everyone playing the role of a cop. With Corona Papers, I aim to create awareness about "Nofear" amongst women ''. Shetty is a bunt and speaks Tullu language but Malayalam was definitely a tough language to crack, she calls it the French of South language with crazy tongue twisters.

From being a supermodel to her 22 years of karate career and making India proud with a Commonwealth Gold medal in 2015 she is now exploring the world of cinema. In the past she has spelled her magic in Bengali film "Kaal" with National award-winning Director Bappaditya Bandhopadhyay and enjoyed the Bengali streak of creativity.

As an actor, Sandhya loves doing all kinds of cinema and finds language no barrier. She wants to explore Bollywood, Marathi and South Films and also taste the other side of the world "Hollywood". As an Asian actor, world cinema is definitely her calling and she feels the west needs to give way for multiracial talented actors and create equal opportunity for all. She loves Bollywood and being a Mumbai girl, she has grown up watching Hindi movies and now wants to leave a mark with her powerful roles in the films she does

Preity Sahay: "The audience loves to hate Kamini’s character in &TV’s Doosri Maa."

&TV’s Doosri Maa actress Preity Sahay, aka Kamini, has delighted fans with love and hate emotions for her portrayal of a negative role. In a candid interview, the talented actress shares her journey as an actor and mother and the various challenges she faced, personally and professionally.

1.    How did your journey as an actor begin?

I am the only actor in my family. When I was eight years old, I began working as a child actor for Doordarshan in Lucknow. During my school time, I participated in numerous plays and dramas but I was also good at studies. My career as a child actor began smoothly, but the real struggle started when I moved to Mumbai and auditioned for films and TV shows. It was a difficult journey because I didn't know anyone here and had no industry mentors. I used some of my old theatre contacts and did a play with the most recent Dinesh Thakur. Following that, I auditioned for television shows and appeared in cameos and episodic roles in many serials. And after years of struggle, I landed a major role in "Balika Vadhu," which I played for nearly six years. However, I played my first negative character in the show "Dahleez," which ran for two years, giving me immense recognition as a TV vamp. In recent three years, I lost my both parents but I know they’re with me all time guiding and supporting me.

2.
You also found your soulmate in this industry. Tell us more about it.

I had never imagined getting married to an actor. During one of my shows, I met Kuldeep. He was also acting in the same show where we fell in love with each other and eventually decided to get married. When I got pregnant, I took a break from work and industry to take care of my son and enjoy this beautiful motherhood phase. My husband supported my decision. Now that my child is grown up and understands things, I decided to restart my career.

3.    Was it easy to restart your career as an actor in this fast-paced world?

It was not easy at all. Because of my break, the kind of role I was offered was not exciting. It was challenging to get the right part in a fast-paced world. But I did not stop trying. After multiple auditions and meetings, I finally got a TV commercial with Bollywood legend Mr Amitabh Bachchan. He appreciated my acting and suggested my name to his son Abhishek Bachchan for his next TV commercial. Being noticed by Big B was one of the happiest moments of my life. It also helped me regain the confidence to restart my journey in the industry. And here I am, portraying one of the most entertaining characters on television as Kamini in Doosri Maa.

4.    How did you bag Doosri Maa?

Around ten years ago, I did an episodic role for one of my shows,  where I met our show director Imtiaz Ji. After a decade, I never expected to work with him again and with such a wonderful character. I am pleased that he considered me for this role. However, when I got the call to play Kamini, I couldn't say yes to the opportunity. I was not convinced to stay away from my family for so long because the set is in Jaipur. But it was my son who convinced me to grab this opportunity. He said I am a grown-up and can also care for his father in my absence. His words touched me, and I was convinced to move temporarily to Jaipur.

5.    How has been your experience shooting in Jaipur and your bond with your co-actors?

In Jaipur, I have a great time shooting for Doosri Maa. The team is fantastic to work with, and given our time away from our families, we have all become each other's family. Our bond grows stronger with each passing day as we stay close to ZEE Studios, where we eat together and celebrate everything. Whenever we are not shooting, we explore the beautiful city and binge on the delicacies here. I miss my family and make it a point to constantly be in touch with my son and speak to my husband daily. But the people here are so supportive and lovely that I don't feel dull at any moment.

6.    Kamini is a negative character, and the audience loves to hate her. How do you deal with it?

As an artist, I love challenging roles. Playing a vamp and negative role like Kamini is very challenging for me because it is the opposite of me as a person. I get all the hate and love for Kamini, which I greatly enjoy on social media. Honestly, Kamini is a true Kameeni in Doosri Maa (laughs). She is annoying but also humorous. When Kamini’s character was narrated, I liked her persona, especially her sarcastic catchphrase, ‘Aadat toh nahi Hamari issue Banane ki'. This catchphrase gets lots of praise from the audience. Simply put, the audience loves to hate Kamini, and that’s what we intend to achieve through this character. It makes me happy that my work is being recognised and appreciated. It gives me a sense of satisfaction and helps me evolve as an actor; there is always new learning.
