एका प्रसिद्ध राजकारण्याचा बिनधास्त, निडर कार्यकारी तर एक भित्री भागुबाई पोलिस यांचं प्रेमाचं, लग्नाचं गणित जुळलं तर कसं वाटेल? कल्पना तरी होणं शक्य आहे का? अर्थात, नाही पण देवा ब्राह्मणाच्या साक्षीने या जोडीची लग्नगाठ बांधली जाणार, अशी ही अनोखी, मनोरंजक कथा घेऊन 'सन नेटवर्क'ची 'सन मराठी' वाहिनी 'कॉन्स्टेबल मंजू' ही नवीन मालिका १८ मार्च पासून प्रेक्षकांच्या भेटीला येत आहे.

 

'कॉन्स्टेबल मंजू' ही मालिका मंजिरी वाघमारे उर्फ मंजू आणि सत्या या दोन पात्रांवर आधारित आहे. नुकतीच या मालिकेची झलक रिलीज झाली आणि मंजुचा स्वभाव सर्वांना कळला असेल.

 

                                            

मंजिरी वाघमारे उर्फ मंजू ही तिच्या 'वाघमारे' या आडनावाप्रमाणे बिलकुल धाडसी नाही. मंजू ही भित्री जी जवळजवळ प्रत्येकाला आणि प्रत्येक गोष्टीला घाबरते. कोणीही मोठ्याने बोलताना ऐकल्यावर सुद्धा ती घाबरते आणि त्यामुळे तिच्याकडून चुका होतात.

पोलिस या पदाला शोभेल अशी धीट कामं करण्यापेक्षा  स्टेपलरमध्ये स्टेपलर पिन टाकणे, फाईल्स लावणे, कागदपत्रे भरणे, ज्येष्ठांसाठी बाटलीत पाणी भरणे, देवाची पूजा करणे ही क्षुल्लक कामे ती पोलीस स्टेशनमध्ये एका दिवसात पार पाडते. पोलिस होण्याचा एकही गुण तिच्यात नाही. उलट, कोणताही गुन्हा घडूच नये, अशी ती देवाकडे प्रार्थना करते.  खरंतर तिला पोलीस बनण्यात अजिबात रस नव्हता.  पण परिस्थिती अशी होती की तिला नाईलाजास्तव पोलीस दलात भरती व्हावे लागले. ‘शी इज गुड फॉर नथिंग’, हेच तिला नेहमी घरात आणि पोलीस स्टेशनमध्ये बोलले जाते. त्यामुळे, मंजुला ही ती निरुपयोगी आहे असे वाटू लागले पण आत्मविश्वास गमावलेल्या मंजूच्या आयुष्यात अचानक हिरोची म्हणजेच सत्याची एन्ट्री होते.

 

एका प्रसिद्ध राजकारण्यासाठी काम करणारा सत्या, स्वभावाने अगदी रावडी, तो बोलण्यापूर्वी त्याचे हात पाय आधी बोलतात. पण मनाने तितकाच सच्चा. राजकारणावर इतका जीव की तो बेकायदेशीर कृत्य करतोय याची त्याला कल्पनाच नसते.  सत्याला त्याच्या सारखीच धाडसी पत्नी हवी आहे. त्याच्या लग्न मंडपातच, पोलिस एका वॉन्टेड गुन्हेगाराचा शोध घ्यायला पोहचतात. पोलिसांनी पूर्ण प्लॅन करून ठेवलेला असतो, प्लॅननुसार कोणत्याही कामात रस नसलेल्या मंजूला नववधूच्या रूपात उभे केले जाते आणि जोपर्यंत गुन्हेगार पकडला जात नाही तोपर्यंत तिने वधूच्या ठिकाणाहून हलायचं नाही असा कडक आदेश तिला दिला जातो. पण कट रचला जात असताना, मंजूच्या लग्नाची गाठ सत्यासोबत बांधली जाते.

 

आता भित्री मंजू आणि निडर सत्या लग्नाच्या बंधनात सामान्य वैवाहिक आयुष्य जगतील का?  दोघांचं एकमेकांसोबत जमेल का?  सत्याच्या सहवासात राहून मंजूच्या स्वभावात बदल घडून ती धाडसी होईल का? आत्मविश्वास गमावलेली मंजू या नव्या नात्यामुळे स्वतंत्र होऊन स्वतःची ओळख निर्माण करेल का?  या सर्व प्रश्नांची उत्तरे प्रेक्षकांना या मालिकेतून नक्की मिळतील.
