Palak Muchhal to give tribute to her idol Lata Mangeshkar at the Royal Albert Hall in London

Palak Muchhal to give tribute to her idol Lata Mangeshkar at the Royal Albert Hall in London

Palak Muchhal will be performing live at the Royal Albert Hall in London, UK. This special is her third time there, and she will be giving a tribute to her idol, legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar. On

On July 28, Palak will be performing along with the Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra at the prestigious venue.

She says, “It is fascinating to be performing there for the third time. It is such a matter of honour and respect for any artist performing there. I was 6 years old when I performed there first. Then, in 2015, I performed there again and sang my songs. This time around, it is a tribute to Lata ji.”

It’s going to make Palak nostalgic for sure, who sang Lata Mangeshkar songs during her first outing there. “I had gone there with Anandji (Kalyanji-Anandji fame). I remember singing Lag Ja Gale along with a few other songs. This time around, I am going to sing Yara Seeli Seeli, Aayega Aanewala, Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. I have tried to mix songs from different decades because Lata Ji has sung so many hit numbers over the years. Each and every song sung by her got so much love from people across the world.”

It’s been three months since the time Palak began her prep. “I have designed this concert from scratch. I had several sessions over video calls with the orchestra members. It is a 120-member orchestra team. Most of the players are of British origin and so it is an honour for them to be performing on songs made by some of the most legendary music directors of our country.”

What makes it special for Palak this time around is the presence of her brother, singer Palash and husband, music director Mithoon, who will be present at the venue too. She shares, “Palash will be joining me on stage to sing the male parts which are originally sung by Kishore Kumar ji, Manna Dey ji and Mohammed Rafi ji. Also, Mithoon ji is travelling to London to attend my concert. I find it quite romantic, and it means a lot to me. I respect him a lot as an artist, and it makes my special day more special!”

Actors unveil the new age parenting mantra!

Actors unveil the new age parenting mantra!

The role of parents is paramount in shaping a child's life, exerting a profound influence on their development. National Parents' Day is an annual celebration that promotes responsible parenting and encourages parents to provide positive reinforcement for their children. On this special day, television artists and real-life parents from &TV discuss the vital importance of parenting in today's world, shedding light on its significance and impact. These include Mohit Dagga (Ashok, Doosri Maa), Yogesh Tripathi (Daroga Happu Singh, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and Shubhangi Atre (Angoori Bhabhi, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai)Mohit Dagga, aka Ashok from Doosri Maa, shares, “Navigating the complexities of contemporary parenting while striving to be a positive influence and role model for my daughter can present formidable challenges. Nonetheless, I find great fulfillment in this journey. At home, I consciously foster a nurturing environment where the demonstration of appropriateness, respect, honesty, kindness, and tolerance holds greater efficacy than simply dictating what my daughter, Ashwika, should or shouldn't do. To cultivate her character, I encourage acts of selflessness without expecting rewards and emphasize the importance of expressing gratitude. However, above all else, I firmly believe that open and honest communication is the cornerstone of any successful relationship. As such, I endeavor to establish a friendship with Ashwika before assuming the role of a parent, allowing me to gain a deeper understanding of her world.”

Yogesh Tripathi, aka Daroga Happu Singh from Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, shares, “As parents, our unwavering desire is to provide our children with the very best. In today's fast-paced world, striking a harmonious balance between embracing modern parenting practices and dedicating quality time to our kids holds equal significance. Despite the demanding nature of my schedule, I steadfastly refuse to compromise when carving out time for my children. I must take periodic breaks, setting aside days to be fully present with them. Furthermore, I make a deliberate effort to arrange family trips, enabling our children to build strong bonds with us, their grandparents, and other relatives. As a parent, we must invest our time and undivided attention in our children rather than relying on material possessions such as phones or PlayStations. Indeed, the most priceless gift we can ever bestow upon them is our presence and quality time together.” Shubhangi Atre, aka Angoori Bhabi in &TV’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, shares, In the contemporary world we inhabit, relying solely on traditional parenting methods is insufficient. Life is characterized by change, so we must embrace flexibility in all aspects, including our approach to parenting. From the moment Ashi entered this world, an overwhelming sense of responsibility washed over me, and I embraced it wholeheartedly. Love intertwines with responsibility, bestowing upon it a profound beauty. As a modern parent, I fervently desire Ashi to flourish and cultivate her individuality. I eschew the notion of imposing my value system upon her and instead strive to foster an environment where she can confidently explore her beliefs and identity. Above all, I want her to know I will forever stand by her side. A parent in this new era should embody the roles of mentor, friend, guide, and attentive listener, prioritizing these facets of the relationship above all else.”

Tune in to Doosri Maa at 8:00 pm, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan at 10:00 pm, and Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai at 10:30 pm, airing every Monday to Friday only on &TV!

Acting alongside Puneet sir, Gireesh and Aliraza sir is like going to a Gurukul” says Mahir Pandhi

Acting alongside Puneet sir, Gireesh and Aliraza sir is like going to a Gurukul” says Mahir Pandhi

Mahir Pandhi may only take on select projects, but he always manages to impress the fans with his performances. He happens to be one of the few actors in the television arena who is willing to take on diverse roles and experiment with different genres. Blame his appealing looks and extraordinary talent, the ambitious actor has triumphed in the hearts of millions with his stint in shows like Choti Sarrdaarni, MX Player’s web series ‘Pawan & Pooja’ and Alt Balaji’s web series 'Bebaakee’. He also emerged as the winner of Top Model India in 2018.

Mahir has been receiving rave reviews for his impressive acting stint in Jee Karda, streaming now on Amazon Prime.

While Mahir poses all the elements to slip into any character with a lot of ease, his newest show Vanshaj which sees him playing the role of Digvijay Mahajan has taken the fans by surprise to see him play a grey shade. When asked about the show and his character, he says “It’s a story about inheritance versus capability. So, when we talk about DJ or Digvijay, he is from the Mahajan family, which is very influential, rich, and powerful. DJ, the successor of the family, dreams to sit in the CEO's position one day. So, he has groomed himself for that. To handle an empire like that, you can not do it with someone simple. Digvijay Mahajan is a bright person who can handle it. This is a story where he finds out that there is this other girl who has the capacity to snatch that dream away from him. You can call him a grey character, but in his eyes, he is the one being wronged”.

Mahir feels honored and blessed to be at the receiving end of such brilliant opportunities. Sharing his experience working with luminaries like Puneet Issar, Gireesh Sahdev, and Aliraza Namdar, he says “Acting alongside Puneet sir, Gireesh and Aliraza sir is like going to a Gurukul. Performing scenes with them was a great learning experience.  They made me feel at ease & comfortable & inspired me to give my best shot”

The serial was released on 12 June 2023 and airs from Monday to Friday at 10 pm. Vanshaj serial is directed by Karanjeet Saluja and produced by Siddharth Kumar Tewary under the banner Swastik Productions. The show stars Puneet Issar, Gireesh Sahdev, Aliraza Namdar, Parinita Seth, Gurdeep Kohli, Kavita Kapoor, Mohit Kumar, and Akshay Anand. Go Bananas over delicious Mango recipes!

Go Bananas over delicious Mango recipes!

Mangoes are like a scrumptious explosion of sweetness and flavour, packed with fibre and a burst of vitamins. And every year, we celebrate the marvellous Mango Day on July 22, celebrating this globally adored fruit. Stroll through the bustling markets, where plenty of plump, juicy, and perfectly ripe mangoes await your taste buds. To savour the season and fill it with an enchanting fragrance, television artists from &TV share their most delightful mango recipes so that you can indulge in a mango extravaganza like never before. These include Manisha Arora (Mahua, Doosri Maa), Zaara Warsi (Chamchi, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and Shubhangi Atre (Angoori Bhabi, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai)Manisha Arora, aka Mahua from Doosri Maa, shares, “Mango is my go-to fruit; I just can't get enough of it! It's like a year-round treat, but I eagerly await its special season when the mangoes are super fresh and juicy. I whip up many amazing recipes with this fantastic fruit during that magical time. But my ultimate favourite is Desi-style mango ice cream. This ice cream is not only delicious, but it's also nutritious. It combines the goodness of ripe mangoes, cream, and sweetened condensed milk. Making it is a breeze: I blend mango slices until smooth, mix the remaining ingredients, and whisk them together. Then, I freeze the mixture in a container, blend it again, and freeze it for ten hours. Once it's set, I top it with dried fruit or chocolate flakes. The result? An Indian-style mango ice cream with a rich aroma and amazing flavour. It's simply divine!”

Zaara Warsi, aka Chamchi from Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, shares, Mango season is one of my favourites, but honestly, I can't wait for it because I crave mangoes all the time. I whip up this delightful mango milkshake using bottled mango pulp to satisfy my cravings. It's so delicious! The recipe is super simple and takes just five minutes to make. Here's what I do: I grab four to five spoons of mango pulp and add two spoons of sugar, milk, and some ice cubes to a blender. I blend it all together until it's smooth and frothy. And if I'm feeling extra fancy, I throw in a few scoops of vanilla ice cream and sprinkle some dried fruits on top as a tasty garnish. I call this recipe the Mango Milkshake Delight and let me tell you, everyone in my family and even on set loves it. This shake's smooth texture and refreshing chill make it an absolute treat for everyone. It's like happiness in a glass!”

Shubhangi Atre, aka Angoori Bhabi in &TV’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, shares, “We Indoris have a special love for Kairi (raw mango) and its pickles, and let me tell you, my mom makes the most amazing Aam ka aachar (mango pickle) ever. When I was a kid, I put that pickle on almost everything because it has this magical ability to make any dish taste delicious. I remember how my mom would take mango strips and mix them with salt. She let it sit for at least a day, draining the mango water. Then, she would combine the mango strips with asafetida, turmeric powder, fennel seeds, cumin seeds, chilli powder, and mustard oil. She would toss it all together, making sure the flavours were well-mingled. What makes my mom's pickle extra special is the mustard oil, which gives it that authentic Kairi flavour and aroma. It truly becomes the perfect Aam ka Aachar.”

So, savour the taste of summer with a delightful array of mango recipes, bringing joy to your rainy days while your watch your favourite &TV shows - Doosri Maa at 8:00 pm, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan at 10:00 pm, and Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai at 10:30 pm, airing every Monday to Friday!
