 Amruta Fadnavis along with Divyaj Foundation dedicates Project “ASMITA” for Women Police officers of Mumbai Police


Mumbai Police and Divyaj Foundation have come together for a joint initiative, Project “ASMITA” for the welfare of the Mumbai Police Women force that was launched on 8 March 2023 in the presence of Commissioner of Police, Mumbai, Maharashtra Shri Vivek Phansalkar, Mrs. Amruta Fadnavis of Divyaj Foundation, Spl. Police Commissioner Shri Deven Bharti, Joint Comm of Police Administration Shri S Jayakumar, and the IPS-Law and order Shri Satya Narayan.



Mumbai Police Commissioner, Shri Vivek Phansalkar mentioned, "Empowerment of women is very important, and for this everyone should make joint efforts. I wish all women a very Happy International Women's Day."



"Project ASMITA will help around 5,000 Mumbai female police officers to balance their professional and personal responsibilities. This programme will improve their capacity to take advantage of new opportunities by training them in a variety of areas, including mental health, physical fitness, yoga, meditation, and psychological counselling, as well as dealing with problems at work through various programs that will improve their leadership skills.


I am confident that Project ASMITA will boost the confidence of Mumbai Police Women force and will motivate them to take up assignments which are currently led by a majority of men in the Police force”, said Mrs. Amruta Fadnavis who herself is a trained classical singer, a social activist, Banker, and a Homemaker.



Previous initiatives by Divyaj Foundation includes, musical talent program for the underprivileged talented children, rehabilitation under the initiative second chance for Arthur and Thane Jail inmates of Maharashtra prison department, wellness programs for the BMC safai karamcharis, health check-up camps for security guards of the Maharashtra State Security Guard Board. The Foundation is also actively involved in various clean-up drives at Mumbai and nearby areas and yoga workshops for the socially excluded on International Yoga Day.
