  First Actress To Do Double Role in Punjabi Film!

Punjabi film fans can't seem to be having enough of Jashn Agnihotri. Guess that's why she has been signed up for not one but two roles in the same film, making her the first Punjabi actress to do a double role in a long time.

The bubbly actress started out as a model and did over a 100 print ad and TV commercials including the likes of Indian Oil Servo, Sahara, Inalsa and many other. Along with ad shoots Jashn also featured in a few hit music videos including the likes of Damdaar Boy by T Series and also hosted the famous reality show No. 1 Dramebaaz while pursuing her passion for cinema.  

"It was during my modeling days that Mr. Madhuri Bhandarkar spotted me and asked to audition for a song in his film Indu Sarkar," recalls Jashn how she bagged the song Yeh Pal in Indu Sarkar. Jashn later went onto do a guest appearance in the film Genius as DJ Jashn. 

Her upcoming Punjabi film titled Chan Tara has her in a double role and she can't stop gushing over her experience while shooting for the film, "It's a full on commercial film with comedy, romance and drama," says Jashn while further adding, "I have worked really hard to mark the delicate difference between the 2 characters wherein one girl is upmarket, sophisticated and ambitious whereas other girl has a humble background and has a rawness & is desi punjaban personified. I ardently followed Hema Maliniji in Seeta Aur Geeta and Late Srideviji in Chalbaaz and took inspiration from these veterans actresses to pull off this challenging double role. Directed by Vinit Atwal, produced by Satnam Tatla, Chan Tara has an ensemble star cast from Punjabi and Bollywood industry and I am confident this film will be liked by audience as it's a thorough entertainer."

Jashn is totally on cloud nine with the projects coming her way and doesn't seem to be in any mood to rest, "After Chan Tara I have two releases lined up in the coming year, one Hindi and one Punjabi film." Ask her if she doesn't want to stick to Bollywood alone and she says, "I am language agnostic, I'm an actress and I will continue seeking good work that I get in whichever industry possible."

मल्याळम भाषेत सुपरहिट ठरलेल्या ‘अंगमली डायरीझ’ या चित्रपटाचा मराठी रिमेक बनवण्यात आला आहे.  ‘कोल्हापूर डायरीझ’ या मराठी रिमेक मधील अभिनेता भूषणनानासाहेब पाटीलच्या लूकची झलक डिजीटल मिडीयाच्या माध्यमातून नुकतीच दाखवण्यात आली आहे. अवधूत गुप्ते प्रस्तुत ‘कोल्हापूर डायरीझ’ या चित्रपटाचे दिग्दर्शन जोराजन यांनी केले आहे.

मूळचा धुळेचा असणारा भूषण नानासाहेब पाटील याने १८ नोव्हेंबरला त्याचा वाढदिवस साजरा केला आणि त्याच्या वाढदिवसाच्यादिवशी भूषणला डिजीटल मिडीयावर प्रदर्शितझालेला त्याच्या नव्या चित्रपटातील नवा लूक हे खास सरप्राईज मिळाले.  हे सरप्राईज जसे भूषणसाठी खास होते तसेच ते प्रेक्षकांसाठी देखील खास ठरले आणि भूषणच्या नव्यालूकला प्रेक्षकांकडून मिळालेल्या प्रतिसादामुळे त्याचा वाढदिवस अजून स्पेशल बनला.

Shaan returns after 4 years as a judge on Zee TV’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs

After the grand success of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs last year, India’s foremost singing-based reality show for young singing prodigies, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs will soon be back on Zee TV. Giving wings to the dreams of India’s aspiring young singers, the upcoming season will have none other than the supremely talented singer and composer, Shantanu Mukherjee aka Shaan returning as a judge on the show after a four-year hiatus.  The show, in its previous seasons, has been instrumental in discovering some of the finest child singing sensations of India’s music fraternity including Anjali Gaikwad, Shreyan Bhattacharya, Hemant Brijwasi, Gagan Gaonkar and Azmat Hussain amongst others.

Shaan has been an integral part of the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs journey.  Shaan has given the industry several record-breaking albums and is known for his notable contribution as a singer and composer for hit films like 3 Idiots, Wanted, Om Shanti Om and several others. Shaan will be joining other prominent judges from the music fraternity to groom and mentor these young talented singers in carving a niche for themselves and emerging as extraordinary singing talent.

Commenting on his association with Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs, Shaan said, “I am excited to be a part of the upcoming season of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs. One mandap, one groom and two brides on &TV’s Agnifera

The recent 20-year leap in Agnifera saw the leading ladies, Yukti Kapoor and Simran Kaur in an all new avatar. In complete contrast to their pervious roles, the two now portray characters of a cop and a gangster respectively. Trapped between these two females and equally attracted to both of their unique qualities, is Kishan (Karan Goddwani) who successfully runs his family business and aims at taking his family name to greater heights. With his family subtly trying to bring in his marriage conversation, Kishan finally decides on marrying the love of his life - Agni (Yukti Kapoor). Agni’s various qualities and her desire to know more about super cars, fashion and everything in between, firms Kishan’s decision to marry her.

While we have always known Indian weddings to be grand, larger-than-life celebrations with plenty of naach - gaana and masti to remember, but what’s a wedding without a little fiasco. With the same spirit and festivity, Kishan gets ready to take the saat pheras and make a lifelong commitment to Agni. However, with an intention to take revenge from Agni, Sakshi (Simran Kaur) decides to trick Kishan and his family during the marriage. Her twisted actions end up in Kishan getting married to both Agni and Sakshi in the same mandap. What ensues is a roller coaster ride that is sure to entertain viewers. Unaware of what the future holds for him, Kishan later finds himself in a tricky love tringle which slowly unfolds post the wedding.

Talking about his character, Kishan and the situation he is in, Karan Goddwani says, “My character Kishan in Agnifera finds himself in the centre of a lot of drama when he develops feelings for Agni and comes to know about Sakshi’s desires. While the storyline is extremely interesting, it is quite different from the contemporary weddings shown on television. The sequence will take the story in a completely unpredictable direction making it even more exciting for the viewers. It has been a great journey till now and I am glad I took this project. The audience support has been outstanding, and I hope they will continue showering the same amount of love upon me and the show.”
