Turkey Tourism conducts ‘Destination Turkey’ workshop

           The Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism in collaboration with the Association of Turkish Travel Agents and Turkish Hoteliers Federation, conducted an eight-city roadshow titled ‘Destination Turkey Workshop’ for the travel trade in India. The roadshow was held on September 26 in Mumbai; September 27 in Bangalore; September 28 in Kolkata; September 29 in Lucknow; September 30 in Delhi; October 1 in Ahmedabad; October 3 in Hyderabad; and concluded on October 4 in Chennai. The workshop saw an attendance of 35 participants from Turkey comprising of leading travel agents and hoteliers besides Turkish Airlines.
              The roadshow received an overwhelming response as more than 150 agents attended in each city. Apart from the valuable B2B interactions, more than 100 frontline staff from various travel agencies in all eight cities participated in the ‘Destination Turkey Trainings’ conducted by the Ministry.
             

The workshop began with a welcome address by Mr Ozgur Ayturk, Coordinator, Ministry of Culture and Tourism Turkey . A destination presentation was also conducted by Association of Turkish Travel Agencies which focussed on Turkey as an ideal destination for leisure, honeymooners and golf.
Speaking about India as a market, Ozgur Ayturk said, “India is a very important market for us. We have seen a good response from India over the years. The eight-city roadshow was conducted to increase destination awareness and highlight the new attractions in Turkey. We hope this event will also add positive impact and further increase the Indian footfall in Turkey.”
