Global Kokan Festival 2013-14 to attract 7 lakh visitors this year
CREDAI-BANM Property Exhibition 2013 to be held jointly with Festival in Navi Mumbai starting from 14 December
Mumbai, October 16, 2013: Kokan Bhumi Pratisthan has announced a delightful treat of Global Kokan Festival, 4th edition of the festival, this year from December 14-17 in Navi Mumbai. The Festival, spread in about 3 lakh square feet area, is expected to be the grandest edition as it will be jointly held in association with Credai-BANM Property Exhibition 2013. This will also result in increased number of footfalls up to 7 lakh visitors. State Excise Minister and Thane Guardian Minister, Shree Ganesh Naik is the chief advisor of this mega festival.
Shree Sanjeev Naik, Member of Parliament, said, “Kokan is the land of inspiration. The leaders from Kokan have been guiding pillars of the nation since ages. It is our responsibility to preserve this rich heritage of our Kokan and we also have to take it to the world. Global Kokan Festival is not just a fun fiesta but imbibes a deep message to the world that this is the land of opportunities and learning. This is an opportunity for the people from Kokan and the people interested in developing and investing in Kokan. We invite people from across the country and world to visit Kokan and Global Kokan Festival.”
To add more business value to the Festival, CREDAI-BANM have also joined hands with their edition of CREDAI-BANM Property Exhibition 2013). “Navi Mumbai has drawn attention of policy makers and planners from across the country and globe alike. While making the announcement of this year’s edition of Global Kokan Festival, Shri Bhai Jatap, Member of Legislative Assembly, said, “Global Kokan Festival is growing in its size, scale, volume and thinking with every year. This year also is a new beginning as we are going to take this festival to various parts of Maharashtra. We are also going to participate in the national tourism events and road-shows. Nevertheless, this year we will be participating in London Travel Mart and Berlin Travel Mart. Hence, we will truly bring Global Kokan Festival on global platforms. Next Global Kokan will be held in London.”
Talking about the mega event which will be held in Navi Mumbai, the Mayor of Navi Mumbai Sagar Naik said, “It is a privilege to host this mega event in Navi Mumbai and I hope this event will generate record breaking numbers from the investment and footfalls point of view.”

It is well connected with Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan and Kokan where people can take advantage of this Festival from.” Global Kokan Festival 2013-14 will be hosted by Cidco and NMMC (Navi Mumbai Municipal Corp.) at Cidco Ground, behind Jaipuriar School, Sector 18, Palm Beach Road, Sanpada in Navi Mumbai from 14-17 December, 2013. The 4-day extravaganza will witness a host of events and activities including displays of art, culture, cuisine, real estate, resorts, tourism destinations, village tourism, aqua life and space world along with photography exhibitions, seminars on development and business opportunities in Kokan, round-table conferences and addresses by eminent leaders.
The event witnesses many celebrities, famous personalities and dignitaries from various political and government functionaries. This will be the 4rd edition of the Global Kokan Festival and more than 4.5 lakh visitors visiting the last edition at the Nesco Ground in Goregaon.
MLA Shree Sandeep Naik, Mayor of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corp. Shree Sagar Naik, Former Chief Secretary, GoM, Shree Arun Bongirwar, Shree Devang Trivedi, Shree M C Sunny and Shree Dharmendra Kari from CREDAI-BANM were present at the event.
