Artists express pride in their daughters

Artists express pride in their daughters

National Girl Child Day is celebrated every year on January 24 to spread awareness about girls' inequities in society. &TV artists Mohit Dagga (Ashok, Doosri Maa), Sapna Sikarwar (Bimlesh, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and Rohitashv Gour (Manmohan Tiwari, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai) and proud parents of girl child express their pride and joy in raising their daughters. Mohit Daggaessaying Ashok in &TV’s Doosri Maa, says, “The day my daughter Ashwika was born, everybody in my house exclaimed, ‘Ghar Laxmi aayi hai.’ She is very attached to me, and I believe no bond is stronger than a father-daughter bond. She is the apple of my eye. I am in Jaipur to shoot for my show, but I make it a point to speak with her daily. My days are incomplete unless I talk to her. Whenever her teachers compliment her academic strength and ability to win hearts, I feel quite proud. She is a sincere and hardworking child who aspires to be an IAS officer. A few years ago, she was watching an IAS officer’s interview, which motivated her to become one. She is just 11 years old and wants to help underprivileged kids. Her goals and dreams are significant to me as a parent, and I hope she achieves them all.”

Sapna Sikarwar, essaying Bimlesh in &TV’s Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, says, “One of the most precious moments of my life was when I held my daughter, Maanya, for the first time. Her tiny hands and feet changed my life forever. She is 11 years old and one of my biggest fans and critics. She is compassionate, loving, disciplined, intellectual, and creative. She is passionate about conceptualising and creating indoor games and has created a few of them. Recently, she has also received a trophy for playing cricket. She is also interested in learning new languages like Korean, Japanese, Spanish, and more. All her achievements make me extremely proud. She is like a chirping bird who fills the house with happiness and positivity. On National Girl Child Day, I would like to encourage all parents to acknowledge and appreciate their daughters.

Rohitashv Gour, essaying Manmohan Tiwari in &TV’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, says, My daughters Giti and Sanjiti are the apples of my eye. They are talented, beautiful and extremely generous. Like me, my older daughter, Giti, loves acting and is pursuing a career in the same field. I felt very proud when I learned that she shared the same interest as me. She is a talented dancer and singer and our favourite entertainer. Her biggest achievement was winning a beauty pageant. I always appreciate and support her, whether acting or anything else she loves. I am proud to see how my daughters balance their studies and extracurricular activities. They spend some time with me when I return from my hectic shooting schedule. I cannot imagine my life without my daughters, as they complete me."
