Panjim, Jan 4: The Hon’ble Governor of Goa, Smt.
Mridula Sinha today inaugurated the historic Raj Bhavan Tours entitled Raj
Bhavan Darshan for visitors at the Raj Bhavan, Dona Paula.
The inauguration amidst much fanfare
also saw in attendance the Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Mr. Manohar Ajgaonkar,
Hon’ble Chairman, Mr. Dayanand Sopte and a host
of other dignitaries and
officials.
Following the inauguration today, Raj Bhavan tours for
visitors will commence from 5th January 2019. Both tourists and locals can now visit the Raj Bhavan for a
glimpse of its heritage and
history, mesmerizing views,
green gardens and a
peep into the various initiatives
introduced by the Hon’ble Governor
in solid waste management, water
harvesting, solar energy etc. The tours
will be open to the general public only
on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The tours will be conducted
in two batches, each batch
comprising of 50 visitors.
The tours will
commence for the first batch of
50 from 2:30 p.m. till 4:00 p.m. and
second batch of 50 visitors from 4:00 p.m. till 6:30 p.m. The entire tour will be conducted by Goa Tourism Development
Corporation. Bookings for the Raj Bhavan Darshan will only be done on-line https://bookings.rajbhavan.goa.gov.in.
Prior registration on the portal at least 3 days before the date
of visit is essential and entry will be
subject to police verification. On
booking, visitors will
receive a confirmation of the same via
SMS/e-mail. Entry fee has been fixed at Rs.300/- per person and payment has to
be made online at the time of booking.
