Think of devotional music and the first thing that comes to the mind is slow-paced tunes and classical music instruments — a genre that is largely associated with the elderly. But in a bid to widen its reach and strike a chord with the country's youth as well, Blessing Telemedia of renowned singer & composer Ram Shankar has come up with India's first ever devotional music reality show- SHYAM KI MEHFIL. 

Post the success of music albums, reality shows, Blessing Telemedia of renowned singer & composer Ram Shankar is looking forward to SHYAM KI MEHFIL  "In a country like India, where bhajan and spiritual songs are so popular, it is surprising how there wasn't any TV show dedicated to the genre. So, we want to give out a message through our show that devotional songs can also be liked by the youth. There was never a big stage for spiritual singers. Our show will fill that gap and give a stage to all those who want to showcase their talent to the world"

 "We wish to revive and develop the country's cultural and spiritual consciousness, particularly of the youth that has drifted away from Indian traditions and values. This show is an attempt to reward the talent that has been confined to temples and religious gatherings" adds renowned singer & composer Ram Shankar 

16 contestants from all over the world will be selected & judged on the basis of their talent, passion & potential. 

SHYAM KI MEHFIL will be a place where tradition will meet culture. The show will showcase all kinds of devotional songs. There will be qawwali, gurbani and all types of devotional music. Every song which tie us to God will get highlighted on our show.
