Saaho actress Evelyn Sharma proves that Sustainable fashion can be sexy at the Lakme Fashion Week 2019
Bollywood actress and responsible fashion activist Evelyn Sharma attended the sustainable fashion day at LFW 2019 last night. The Yaariyan actress was here to support the sustainable brand "I was a Sari" that turns pre-loved Indian saris into a unique new style. Evelyn wore a sexy slip dress with a duster jacket on top from their Winter Festive Collection 2019. She added the hotness quotient in this upcycled outfit which was once a Sari. The fashion philanthropist along and the founder of “I WAS A SARI” Stefano Funari stands for the same cause that is reuse, recycle and upcycle. Evelyn spoke about how every Indian woman loves Sari but this is such a contemporary take on the one garment that keeps dusting away in our closets for most of the year.
The Main Tera Hero actress said, “Recycling is the New Sexy” and we can't agree more. Evelyn feels for the brand’s ethos to empower women by bringing work back to the talented artisans of India and to create new fashion out of pre-loved fabrics.
Always seen creating awareness for more responsibility in fashion personally like at a recent event in Sri Lanka, she is also celebrating the fourth year of her charity foundation "Seams for Dreams" that repurposes your clothing donations. The Indo-German beauty was happy to have collaborated with the brand “I Was A Sari”, which has also partnered up with the global luxury brand Gucci for their circular economy project, Gucci Equilibrium, to design their beautiful collection and to enhance the work of the women artisans in India with guidance, collaboration, and new skills.
On the movies front, Evelyn will be seen next in the most awaited action thriller of 2019 "Saaho" starring Prabhas, Shraddha Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh and more popular names from the Bollywood and Tollywood industries. The film is all set to hit the theatres on the 30th of August.
