Actors’ love for Desi-Licious ice cream!

Actors’ love for Desi-Licious ice cream!

Having a scoop of your favourite ice cream flavour can make you feel better. Everybody loves ice cream because it brings happiness to even the gloomiest days, whether hot or cold outside. It also stirs up wonderful memories from childhood, making us feel nostalgic. On National Ice Cream Day&TV artists talk about the ice cream flavours in their hometowns that are special and different and how these flavours represent their states. These include Aayudh Bhanushali (Krishna, Doosri Maa), Yogesh Tripathi (Daroga Happu Singh, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and Shubhangi Atre (Angoori Bhabhi, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai). Aayudh Bhanushali, aka Krishna from Doosri Maa, shares, “People in India enjoy the unique flavours and textures of malai ice cream. It's very popular in Gujarat and is one of my favourites too. Malai ice cream tastes much better and creamier than ice cream flavours from the West. We Gujaratis are like the flavour of malai - sweet, friendly, and genuine. Our personality is creamy and milky, with sweetness and hints of cardamom. Like the rich malai flavour, we add nuts and khoya to our personality. A famous saying called “Malai Marke” fits Gujaratis perfectly. It means we're always sweet and get things done nicely, no matter the situation (laughs). Malai ice cream's extravagant and amazing taste is right for our Indian taste buds. The best thing about the Malai flavour is that it will always be a classic. You can find it in kulfi, sundaes, ice cream sandwiches, and floods.”

Yogesh Tripathi, aka Daroga Happu Singh from Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, shares, “I enjoy ice creams and keep trying new flavours. Recently, I tried this Paan flavour, and it made me think of my hometown, Uttar Pradesh. The taste of Paan ice cream took me back to Varanasi. It was delicious and had a traditional Indian taste. The Paan-flavored ice cream is made with betel leaves, and the smell is interesting. The ice cream has rich ingredients like mukhwas, coconut, aniseed, cardamom, and dried dates. Just like we are special with our unique qualities, an ice cream flavour also stands out with its extra topping, creating a delightful dessert. I am happy I tried this flavour because it has become one of my favourites. It's wonderful to see how these traditional flavours have become popular among people all over the world.” Shubhangi Atre, aka Angoori Bhabi in &TV’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, shares, “Ice cream is the only dessert that brings me happiness and pure joy. Indore is well-known for its traditional Indian sweets like Gulab Jamun, Ras Malai, and Rajbhog, and we Indoris particularly enjoy the Rajbhog flavour. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water imagining the combination of Rajbhog and ice cream. We have a royal and noble nature ingrained in us, and our lives are filled with various rich dry fruits, just like Rajbhog. Without a doubt, our personalities are a harmonious blend of cardamom, saffron, and a delicate touch of rose, all balanced together in creamy goodness. The elite and regal attitude of Indoris makes us stand out from the ordinary, much like Rajbhog among a bunch of ice cream flavours.”

So, treat yourself to your all-time favourite ice cream this National Ice Cream Day! It is the perfect occasion to indulge in a scoop of sheer delight and savour the sweet taste of nostalgia.
